Summary: Entertainment for the retarded
Review: I remember seeing this film in theaters way back in the day. I laughed then. I saw it recently at a friend's house and can't believe Wes Craven's career didn't end with this schlock. I don't know what kind of movie this was meant to be. It was too lame to be scary and too stupid to be funny. Running from an 'electronic phantom' through scenes from 'Leave it to Beaver' is enough to make you roll your eyes in disbelief. But diving through a camera lense to end the movie is rock bottom. Wes Craven has had hiots and misses in his long career. Of all his films, this is somewhere at the bottom.

Summary: A Guilty Pleasure to say the least!
Review: I saw this on Encore movie channel last year late at night.
I thought, since I loved the Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream series, maybe Wes Craven would impress me again. Certainly, he did. This film is about a killer who is electrocuted, and he finds out how to come back to life and tries to murder the football player who turned him in to the police. Awesome. Really awesome.

Summary: Great flick, good music
Review: Movie styled after MTV music videos at the height of MTV's power. The movie is inventive and well worth watching. The music works well with the movie, but not as well without it. See if you can find the disc with the songs. 80's heavy metal. It's out of print, so you may have to hunt, but the songs stand on their own feet.

Summary: Shock the Monkey
Review: Serial killer who knocks off families is caught red handed by his own son and when brought to terms by the death penalty, survives the electric chair and takes on a new form, hopping from body to body. He then tracks down his son and tries to put an end to him. Excellent NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET clone is well created by the writer/director Wes Craven. And in essence, it's not a clone at all. It eliminates the slow motion from NIGHTMARE and pours on the bone-crunching action which is pre-determined by the heavy metal '80's music played throughout. Very entertaining.

Summary: Finger licking good
Review: Shocker says "finger licking good" after he bites off the fingers of a security gurard. Now thats comedy!!!

The Shocker gets the power to move his soul into different people's bodies. It becomes humorous when he goes into the bodies of a female doctor, and the body of a 10 year old girl. He also gets the power to tellepot through electric wires.

This movie is good old-fashioned bloody horror, without the million dollar special effects that you see in movies nowadays.

Summary: Bloody Marvelous
Review: Shocker should be viewed for what it is - plain, old-fashioned cheesy horror fun! This is a great DVD to take to a movie night, or to watch with your girlfriend - i reckon she'll be grabbing onto you for most of its duration! The problem is, most people seem to take this movie too seriously. I give it 5 stars for being cheesy, and for making me laugh... BIG TIME!!!

Summary: Electrifyingly good.
Review: Some people are disappointed with this, but I can't understand why. Alright, so Wes Craven had set out to create a new Freddy, but so what? The film is an excellent joining-together of interesting characters, imaginative special effects and a crackingly good script.

A serial killer is stalking the city. After an accident on the rugby pitch a teenaged boy has a dream in which he finds that the maniac is none other than local TV repairman Horace Pinker. When Pinker is put to death on the electric chair, he is able to return to life through anything with electrical systems including the TV and the human body.

Gripping, well-paced thriller. Horace Pinker himself is such a different character from Skinner in the X-Files that it's hard to believe it's the same actor. Pinker is certainly one of the better of the thousands of film psychopaths and this film is certainly a cut above most of the uninspiring Freddy sequels. A wonderfully dark and sombre soundtrack is the cherry on the proverbial bakewell.

Summary: There's a one-liner that's priceless
Review: The movie itself blows, but the funny part is when horace is arrested and taunts Peter Berg. Berg responds with some gibberish that i can't make out, but it sounds hilarious. "Ah shushasheshu son of a bitch!"

Summary: Shocker soundtrack also
Review: The soundtrack for this movie with ALL the songs on it isn't available anymore, it's out of print but..I found it in a cut out bin at Tower records so if your looking for it as I was..look there! It's awesome by the way and the movie is diffently a keeper!
