Rating: Summary: Crocodile: The Most Underrated Movie I Have Ever Seen! Review: This is, by no means, a bad movie! It is just another superb, suspenseful, horror movie created by the master of horror, Tobe Hooper. This movie is NOT bad, it is a wonderful underrated gem! This movie is NOT one of the worst movies ever made! It is one the greatest revenge stories in history! This movie is NOT campy, it is a suspenseful reptilian farce with cool, memorable characters! It gives me nightmares ever time I watch it! I also cry evertime at the end when mama Flat-Dog gets her final, unsmashed egg back, and swims off, sparring the remaining teens a most bloody and painful death! With this film, he demonstrates the power of a mother's love. When a couple of fisherman angrily smash a nest of eggs, Flat-Dog, a 20 crocodile begins to take her anger out on a group of high schoolers who just drove in for a Spring Break Blow-Out! The teens aren't the only ones who have a a minor reptile problem. Shurkin, an old swamp hunter has an obsession with Flat-Dog. She mauled his grandfather when he just a kid, witch made him mad enough, but when she slaughtered his father, he went insane, and had been waiting "to even the score" the giant reptile ever since! This is an underrated horror masterpiece! Most of Tobe Hooper's movies (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, POLTERGIEST, EATEN ALIVE) are classics, and this should be given the same treatment! So, with all this said, can I say that CROCODILE is my favorite movie of all time? Yes, I beleive I can! All you croc-haters go post your negative reveiws someplace else, like on BLOOD SURF! That one was terrible, even for a croc movie! The crocodile looked EXTREMELY fake!! Barney the Dinosaur looked more real than that stupid, dumb, crappy, cheap, unconvincing piece of rubber! Shame on the man who recommended BLOOD SURF instead of this unreconized, overlooked, underrated classic tale of revenge! If CROCODILE swallows you whole, then you should also sink your teeth into CROCODILE 2: DEATH SWAMP, ALLIGATOR and EATEN ALIVE.
Rating: Summary: Crocodile 2000 Review: This may be a fun film to watch on a Friday night with some friends. Some hateful and dimwitted spring-breakers sailing around a lake in a party boat find some huge eggs, which they ignorantly destroy, causing an enraged giant crocodile to go on a rampage. Incredibly, characters run from the monster for what seems like hours and never get far enough away from the water to avoid being eaten! Dumb plot and dialogue aside, this movie is superior to the lame Lake Placid in that you get to see several characters devoured alive. A wisecracking guy is regurgitated, like in Anaconda. In one never-to-be-believed scene, the crocodile pushes a car belonging to some fishermen into the lake to hide the evidence of their disappearance.
Rating: Summary: Lake Placids Supirior Review: This movie is far better than lake placid though some how lake placid has such a high rating for some reson yet I see nothing special about it.This movie though is more thrilling because in here the crocodile actually GETS OUT of the water and chasis every one around. On lake placid he gets outa the water ONCE to chase his victems and that at the end.The crocodile on here is more like a demon though because the croc hunter was saying somthing about him being a a demon and the croc on here has a back far stronger than the crocs on lake placids because aparently it can take a shot from a freakin elephant gun and not get a scratch on it.I also find the croc on here to be more quik and agile and its not predictable. All in all both lake placid and this is very good movie.Anyways the acting,it was pretty good but some of the teens did a horrible job of acting and had no depth once so ever. The F/X is really good and for the croc they use the latest of computerization technology. This I must say is the best gient croc killer movie of all but there is only 2 which is this and lake placid but there are also a few gient killing aligator movies I had saw but they are not near as good as gient croc killin movies.I dont know why but I always been facinated by crocs.Anyway bye now oh yeah and ya gota check out this movie, its pretty good.
Rating: Summary: Lots and Lots of Fun. Review: This movie is not going to win any oscars, but it is sure a hell of alot of fun to watch when you are bored on a friday night. The corcodile is ok, it does not look that real, but it has teeth and can eat you. Even now low-budget movies are using CGI effects. Crocodile follws kids into swamp...crocodile eats kids in swamp one by one. Likable characters. A good party movie. Underrated. And for whatever person that wrote in their review andIQuote "whoever did this film was really dumb" is very, very wrong. Though many of you do not know it,guess who directed this movie? TOBE HOOPER! The guy who directed "texas chainsaw massacre" and "Poltergeist." He is not an ammatuer director. Crocodile iis definetly something worht renting, and also buying if you are a fan of the "animals-eat-people" genre. lol. OVERALL SCORE:87 Direction:19/20 Fun:19/20 Special Effects:18/20 Plot:15/20 Cast:16/20
Rating: Summary: AN 11 YEAR OLD REVIEWER Review: THIS MOVIE WAS COOOOL!!!!! I FIRST BOUGHT IT AT AMAZON.COM, OF COURSE AND WHEN I WATCHED IT, IT BECAME ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME. I KNOW MOST PEOPLE HATED THIS MOVIE BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS VERY GOOD. I THOUGHT THIS MOVIE WAS TOBE HOOPER'S BEST YET.TOBE HOOPER HAS DIRECTED PLENTY OF OTHER MOVIES SUCH AS POLTERGEIST, AND TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.POLTERGEIST WAS AN INSTANT CLASSIC SAME WITH TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. SYNOPSIS: 8 TEENAGERS SPEND THEIR SPRING BREAK ON BOARD A HOUSEBOAT WHICH THEY GOT A DEAL ON. BUT WHEN THEY FIND A BUNCH OF SMASHED CROC EGGS IN THE MARSHLANDS THEY CAN'T RESIST TAKING ONE NON SMASHED EGG BACK WITH THEM.WHEN THE CROCODILE REALIZES MOST OF HER EGGS ARE SMASHED AND ONE IS GONE SHE GOES ON A WILD RAMPAGE AND STARTS DEVOURING THE TEENS AND A FEW MORE PEOPLE INCLUDING THE SHERIFF. DESPITE THIS MOVIES BAD CGI EFFECTS IT WAS VERY GOOD. IF YOU LIKED THIS MOVIE I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND CROCODILE 2, BLOOD SURF, LAKE PLACID, AND CROCODILE (1981).
Rating: Summary: July 15, 2003 Review: This movie was really good and suspenseful. CROCODIlE is about these teenagers that decide to go on a camping trip for spring break. Eventually they find this nest of crocodile eggs {most already smashed} and decide to take the only surviving one back to camp. The crocodile finds that her eggs are missing and goes afte the teenagers when it discovers ther'e responsible. and somehow there boat gets stranded somewhere far from camp and they must flee for their lives as the crocodile goes after them. my favorite parts were when the crocodile bit the rope in half, pushed the car into the swamp, and when it reached up and killed the sheriff and bit the motor in half. the only thing bad about this movie was that so many people die.
Rating: Summary: SEE YOU LATER ALLIGATOR Review: Tobe Hooper has given us films that are considered classics, such as POLTERGEIST and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, plus a minor gem, THE FUNHOUSE. In CROCODILE, perhaps one of the better "crocodile/alligator" movies, he gives us some jolts and scares, a rather well done crocodile animatronic, but alas and alack, a gaggle of characters who become so whiny and self-serving, you want the crocodile to eat them all. This is the scriptwriter's fault, but the actors (and that's being kind) are so untalented, they only make you want them to bite the bullet! As always, the college kids are shown as dope-smoking, alcoholic wastes, and how can one feel sorry for Brady, when it's obvious he still has the hots for Sunny (the unbelievably bad Sommer Knight). Mark McLaughlin, Chris Solari and Caitlin Martin are on the level with high school thespians, and the poor guy who plays Lester isn't even that far. So why 4 stars? For what it's supposed to do, CROCODILE succeeds; Hooper knows how to stage suspense; too bad he didn't have a better cast.
