Review: this is the worst bloated piece of garbage crappy disgusting boring "film" i have seen in a long time. it is not interesting, it is not scary, there is no redeeming quality. it is stupid, pointless, and not fun. I would rather pour sulfuric acid into my eye than watch this one. and in case you're wondering "well maybe there's nudity" there ISN'T.

Summary: RIGHT NEXT TO 3, THIS IS THE 2ND BEST MOVIE IN THE SERIES
Review: THIS SEQUEL WAS A BRILLIANT IDEA. THE PLOT FOR THIS ONE; THE FILMMAKERS AND THE CASTS OF THE NIGHTMARE MOVIES ARE BEING STALKED BY FREDDY IN REAL LIFE, HEATHER LAGENKAMP [THE STAR OF 1 AND 3], LEARNS THAT THE NIGHTMARE MOVIES WERE ACTUALLY PROTECTING THE WORLD FROM FREDDY KRUGER. THIS IS THE BEST NIGHTMARE MOVIE TO BE RELEASED SINCE NIGHTMARE 3. EXCELLENT MURDER SCENES, EXCELLENT PLOT, AND AN EXCELLENT FINALE. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS AND NIGHTMARE 1 AND 3 TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE SOME GOOD HORROR MOVIES. THIS 6TH SEQUEL IS NOT THE END. FREDDY WILL BE BACK THIS YEAR IN ''FREDDY VS. JASON''.

Summary: Wes Craven does it again
Review: This movie really brought the series to a new phase. The documentary idea was great. What is Freddy Krueger is real? This film was great showing many New Line Cinema employees, past cast members like Tuesday Knight(Nightmares 4 and 5, and original members like Nick Corri and John Saxton. This movie would be nothing without Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp and the addition of Miko Hughes. Miko played "Dylan" very well. Also past negative reviews on this page say that there was not enough gore, well this film was not intended for a high body count. If ther was a high amount of gore, the film would have not been good and would be labalized as another Freddy pointless plot killing spree. I don't think that is what Wes Craven was after. I think he wanted to focus on adults that as teens grew up with the original "Nightmare", but are now adults and Parents now. Overall this movie was the second scariest of the set, just behind the original. I suggest this film to everyone. Thank you Wes Craven.

Summary: The Best of The Best !!!!!
Review: I just recently bought the Nightmare on Elm Street boxed set, and I watched them all at one time. When I got to watching the 7th movie, I was kind of worried. Everyone said the this was the worst horror film ever, and when I finished the movie, I got to thinking: WHAT THE F--- IS WRONG WITH EVERYBODY!! THIS WAS THE BEST HORROR MOVIE EVER!! The movie had a great plot, and it was great that in the movie, fiction mixed with non-fiction.
BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU DONT OWN THIS MOVIE, GET IT!!!

Summary: BEST NIGHTMARE FILM SINCE PARTS 1,3,4,5,AND 6
Review: THIS ONE ROX I LIKED ALL THE SERIES (EXCEPT PART 2).THIS ONE IS SCARY AND WITTY AND THROWS FREDDY'S SENSE OF HUMOR IN THIS FILM.HEATHER LANGENKAMP PLAYS HERSELF WITH HER SON AND HUSBAND WHO ARE TERRORIZED BY FREDDY, A NEW FREDDY THAT'S MORE FRIGHTENING AND TALKS CREEPIER.SO WHEN HEATHER DON'T KNOW DIRECTOR WES CRAVEN IS SHOOTING A FILM WITH HER IN IT SHE PROTECTS HER SON AND TRIES TO KILL FREDDY,BUT NOT WITHOUT SOME HELP.OUTSTANDING SPECIAL EFFECTS AND PLOT TWISTINGS OF HANSEL AND GRETEL MAKE THIS A WINNER.BUY OR RENT IT.

Summary: An Interesting horror flick!
Review: This is a bit unusual but entertaining horror movie, this is set in modern day hollywood where " Heather Langekamp" ( as herself) is getting a role in a new Freddy Krueger movie by Wes Craven ( Also performed by himself), but Freddy Krueger ( Robert Englund) has been resurrected out of Reel-life to reality where he wants Heather's son.

A often bizarre but fascinating horror movie in the popular Elm Street series that uses the idea of reality vs. Cinema combined, the acting is superb including the creative script. It's also got John Saxton making an apperance too! This is a horror version of " Last Action Hero" using the same idea, Reality and Reel-life.

Can't wait for "Freddy Vs. Jason" coming out this summer.

Summary: Not A Sequel- A Stand Alone Movie
Review: Wes Craven said in an interveiw that this movie isn't a sequel to "A Nightmare On Elm Street" but instead a movie seperate from that franchise almost entirely- except for the character of Freddy. He is correct because the Elm Street series were fictitious movies in this movie. Heather played Heather and Wes played Wes, who by the way was writing another Elm Street movie in this one. So it isn't a sequel. Its an original. A movie where a fictitional character comes to life. Some people might be upset because this movie is saying that everything in the Elm Street series is fictional but why? This is entirely seperate from the series and this should be taken into consideration. A very creative effort.

Summary: A perfect ending to the long running series
Review: Wes Craven created one of the horror genre's most recognizeable and unforgettable characters when he wrote and directed the original Nightmare on Elm Street, and after 5 following films (all of which were rather dull except for the third film), Craven returned to the director's chair to finish what he started ten years before. The story is this: Heather Langenkamp (star of the original film and Part 3) plays herself in the real world. She is an actress whose young son begins uttering Freddy-esque threats as the city is rocked by earthquakes. Soon we learn from Craven (playing himself, look for New Line CEO Robert Shaye as himself as well) that Freddy is manifesting himself into our reality. While this does sound a bit questionable on paper, the idea is executed almost flawlessly, and Freddy is no longer the wise cracking one liner spewing freak we all came to know and love; he is much, much more demonic and menacing, and he looks great. New Nightmare is the scariest film since the original (and maybe the scariest of the series) and thanks to Craven we get one of the most entertaining horror films of the 90's. Robert Englund and John Saxon star as themselves and they're movie counterparts, and all together New Nightmare is the most intelligent film of the series, and is an essential film to horror fans, whether they like the series or not.
