Summary: Tim Buton Has Done It Again!
Review: Sleepy Hollow is a wonderful movie, and it is veryyy spooky. Boo! Gotchaa, Tim Burton is a wonderful director and this film shows all his talents. It takes place in a town called Sleepy Hollow, a weird and mysterious place where peoples heads are being cut off, by a headless horseman. This is one of those movies where you just gotta have, so I hope you people buy it because your all gonna be in for a treat! 5 stars all the way!

Summary: Well worth it.
Review: This DVD is worth owning solely for the fact that it looks so darn good. I can't even explain how good it looks. I could watch it over and over because of this. The headless horseman is about as realistic as a man without a head can get. The special effects and CG are stunning. The same can't be said for the story unfortunately. Especially the second half when it all starts coming together. I still reccomend this film to anyone who appreciates a good decapitation, and to any Tim Burton fan.

Summary: One of the best thrillers of '99(next to LAKE PLACID)
Review: This movie ruled,it's that simple. I'm not a big Depp fan,but he was great in this. They also could'nt have picked a better Horseman than Walken, this movie was hands down the best thriller of '99(Lake Placid being a very close second) this made the Sixth Sense look like a booger. It has it all it's scary, funny and action packed. A definite must see.

Summary: What Weardness
Review: After viewing this on dvd, I feel a strange sence of a "pain in the neck". Its well made, with a storyline to keep your eyes on the screen for the whole lenth of the film, witch (hint, hint) as some parts horror and others full of storyline...... feel sorry for the tree though.

Summary: Sleepy Hollow... The way the story should be told.
Review: The Sleepy Hollow DVD, is fantastic! The special featurete is very informative, and interesting. The Cast interviews are very cool to watch. The movie itself is probably the best American fariy tale ever to be made a movie! Tim Burton hit the nail on the coffin! This DVD is a star that will shine in your DVD collection, as it does in mine. Hope this helps.

Summary: Brilliant !
Review: Tim Burton has created a spectacular horror/mystery with Sleepy Hollow. Throw in a bit of comedy, and you have a magnificent movie. I'm a anything but a Johnny Depp fan, but I must admit, he played the roll of Ichabod Crane flawlessly. Christina Ricci was also excellent, as was the supporting cast.

A must see for any horror fan old enough for the graphic violence, as this movie is by far, no children's story.

Summary: A Beautiful Film
Review: This is one of those films that must be seen in the theatre in order to appreciate the beauty of the art direction. I have seen the DVD and it is just as wonderful! Tim Burton has created an animated painting that is, in my opinion, one of the top five films of 1999. He has reworked the classic story of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow into an action-packed who-done-it that is a dark, brooding, gory cinematic masterpiece. 5 out 5!

Summary: Very Tim Burton
Review: I missed this one in the theaters, and could kick myself for it. Visually, this movie is remarkable! The DVD contains a behind the scenes featurette that describes the elaborate sets and design work, and it all shows up on screen.

But more than just being a visual treat, Burton crafts a much different telling of the tale of the Headless Horseman. It's quite a departure from the Washington Irving original, but still maintains the same dark sense of comic melancholy Walt Disney gave it.

A great update for fans of Hammer films and Burton disciples.

Summary: Satan and witchcraft (again?)
Review: I have a question about Sleepy Hollow (1999). I had just seen it for the first time and felt there was at least one error.

There were two young girls that saw the living "headless horseman" - one ran away, and the other saw the beheading. The girl that witnessed the beheading said that she "sold her soul to satan that moment."

It is well pounded in my head that witchcraft has nothing to do with satan, but in the movie, satan and witchcraft were paired up once more.

I also found the clash between science and religion (Christianity) and paganism and religion interesting, i.e., the comment of "The only book you need to know is..." (WHAM) - the Holy Bible plopped in front of the constable.

Good movie, nonetheless.
