Summary: B for effort, F for execution
Review: This is a goodnatured bit of amateur filmmaking which had me snoring about an hour into it. Watching "The Last Broadcast" left me, too, in a state of contemplation: how best can I direct my desire (and my dollars) to support the new, the independent, the original artistic endeavor? How prone am I to believe in hype? Dig up some birthday home movies instead. It could be that your great Aunt Bessie is the next new thing. Maybe she had an edgy camera style, with a flair for subtly deconstructing pre-feminist family dynamics. Perhaps her unflinching eye for fashion could reveal to you a Mom you never knew: in her skinny days, serving cake in floral capri pants and black-framed glasses, upswept sweaty wispy summer hair looking all the world for something straight out of a 1998 episode of "Friends". If I was a film school professor, I'd give this project a B and suggest more classes. Sorry guys!

Summary: Horrible Movie
Review: This movie is utter dreck, don't waste your money or time. This movie has been compared to "The Blair Witch Project" but the only thing that is somewhat similar is the shaky camera work, nothing else is similar. This movie has bad acting, horrible dialouge and terribly written characters.

Summary: TLB in a class by itself
Review: The comparison between " The Last Broadcast" and "Blair Witch" only works on one level: their similar story lines. From there, TLB is far more superior. The filmmakers push the envelope by integrating several new technologies - both on and off the screen. Their digital technologies have been noticed by George Lucas, and are paving the way for future independant filmmakers. Utilizing the Internet as part of their story line elevates TLB far beyond the playful antics of college-level documentarists in "Blair Witch" and positions it as an important work.

Summary: Better than Blair Witch....More scarry too
Review: Whoever gives this movie a bad review is not smart enuff to understand most things. BUY THIS MOVIE, IT WILL SCARE YOU!!!! The blair witch was an okay movie compaired to this one. This is the most scarry movie I have seen in a long time, and I have seen quite a few "underground low budget" scary films. This one by far is the cherry on top. Get it.

Summary: revolutionary filmmaking
Review: A terrific, original documentary. It blows Blair Witch out of the water. I assume the Blair Witch creators saw this film before they began shooting... their concept was a complete rip-off. People who see this movie should also know that it was produced on a home computer and was the first movie ever simulcast to theaters across the nation in digital projection format (George Lucas is looking to use this process with a future episode of Star Wars). This is truly groundbreaking and could be the future of movie distribution. It could put the power of filmaking into the hands of anyone with a PC and some creativity. Do yourself a favor and buy this movie.

Review: This film is excellent. This film was released a year and a half before Blair Witch and is much better. Blair Witch is almost a total knock-off of The Last Broadcast. See this film - avoid Blair Witch. Reward the innovators - avoid the knock-off artists.

Review: Stefan and Lance show a far superior ability to use all the tools at their disposal to come up with the complete mockumentary that has the ending to leave you shaking in your shoes!

Review: What more can I say.. At least the Blair Witch is creepy at times. The Last Broadcast is a wet blanket with really lame acting, dialouge, etc.. It was made for $900 and it shows. I'd rather watch my uncle's home movies from the fifties..

Summary: Better Than Blairwitch!!
Review: Many people have compared this movie to Blairwitch and rightfully so. However there is one fundamental difference between the two. Blairwitch tries to be about reality and raise philosophical/artistic issues regarding realism in film. The Last Broadcast however is our decades definitive artistic masterpiece. The Last Broadcast is an exploration of realism in the future of film. Picking up where many filmmakers of the past left off, Avalos et al have definitely created a film that pushes al of the right buttons at the right time. A digital video production screened on the big screen via satelite the Last Broadcast asks us not only if the film is 'real' but goes a step further by asking us IF FILM IS REAL. A major question with the technological age and manipulatability of the image. This question has been at the heart of filmmaking since its inception, but these filmmakers make it the heart of their film. An absolute must see for any and all film buffs/scholars/historians.

Summary: An intelligent and thrilling indicment of media.
Review: This is one smart film. I was fortunate enough to catch thisfilm at the Pacific Film Archive, having no idea it was fake. I amproud to admit I was fooled for most of the movie. With this advantage, I can say that the film really can show you your own very personal ways of believing "The Lie", and how tenous our view of the truth is as seen through the eyes of Mr. Camera. The filmakers offer so many possibilities, that by the time the film is over, you can see a lot about yourself in what theory you were most attracted to. All this to say it is very intelligent, often scary, very well acted, and just plain inventive. While comparisons to The Blair Witch Project are unavoidable, they are completely different films, and any real comparison would be a diservice to both. I for one will do my part to get this film as much recognition as it deserves. Bravo!!
