Summary: Stuart is sooo totally hot!!!!!
Review: I went and saw this movie about like the third day t had come out. I had read the book a week ago and I was constantly visiting a website where it told you all the details about the movie. Even though it didn't follow the book, which kind of made me miss Louis and the other characters, I loved it. It was a shame that Tom Cruise didn't come back for the role but Stuart was faboulous as Lestat right to the last detail. Aaliyah's acting was great and I loved the accent she made up for the movie. The whole movie is different from the book except for a few parts. All in all it was great and the soundtrack is great. I can't wait to buy the movie and the soundtrack. I am waiting for the next Anne Rice movie.

Summary: The Filmmakers Should Be DAMNED!
Review: This is truly a lousy film, one of the worst of all time. The villian, played by deceased recording artist Ailiyah, doesn't make an appearance until 45 minutes into the film. Even then, her presence is too brief to establish any sort of feelings pro or con toward her character.Her character doesn't take any actions until the movie is almost over. The total onscreen time for the antagonist is probably not much more than 10 minutes. Ailiyah had more quality time onscreen in her music video promo for the film. If all you expect is to watch MTV for a couple of hours, then this is the movie for you. The plot--if you can call it one--is weak, uninspired, unimaginative. This movie is worth watching for free, let alone paying for it.

Summary: I am gonna read the book and hope it is better
Review: Well, I did not give this movie a 1 star rating because I do feel that it would be a shame for Aaliyah's last movie to be rated that bad. I give it 3 stars out of respect for her and because I enjoyed her music. Her death was a tragedy. Unfortunately this movie is tragic in it's own right. The story was horrid, a rock and roll vampire movie. There is no good way to spin that into an enjoyable movie. I am going to read the book now and hope that it is better. Everyone says it is better than the movie, as usual. I found that there were holes in the story line that never were filled. I have no idea who any of the characters were in the movie, other than Lestat. There was no explanation of who any of the characters were or how they fit into the story. Over all a total miss in my humble opinion.

Summary: Not the book... but very enjoyable
Review: Okay, it really didn't follow the book to a T, but I read it almost 10 years ago, and recgonized alot of it.
Stuart Townsend is exactly what I have always pictured Lestat to be. He was sexy and cocky and completly sure of himself and downright beautiful. When I read the books forever ago, this is who I pictured. So even if the movie didn't follow the book, I feel like we finally met Lestat. Here is a movie that is full of excellent music and is so sexy, I had to go back and see it a second time!

Summary: Better than critics led me to believe.
Review: I saw Interview with a Vampire, and enjoyed the movie. I then bought the book, and was thoroughly disappointed. I had to force myself through it, and have never read another Anne Rice (give me L. K. Hamilton any day). Therefore, I have no background on Queen of the Damned. I only watched it because of the hype surrounding Aaliyah's role. Overall, the acting was good, and I want to see more of Vincent Perez, the actor who played Marius. He really nailed the exasperated but indulgent attitude towards Stuart Townsend's Lestat. I will buy this on DVD, because the producer has written that too many well acted scenes had to be cut due to time constraints ... perhaps they will be included on DVD extras. My only (slight) gripe about the film is the title, "A Vampire and his music: Lestat's story" would have been more appropriate.

Summary: It was bad, but I liked it anyway.
Review: I just have to say that I read the book when it first came out, which was over ten years ago. Now, my memory of the book is a little fuzzy, but I don't think the book was quite like this. I know Marius didn't make Lestat. Lestat never once mentioned Louis, Claudia, Armand, or his mother. Enlil was never named. Jessie was definitely not Lestat's girlfriend. There also seemed to be a bit more history in the book. Where were the twins? How did Akasha become the first vampire? Little things like that. Plus, the movie was horribly flawed in and of itself. The acting was deplorable, the plot confusing at times even to an Anne Rice fan, and some of the scenes were dragged out. That aside, the movie gets 3 stars because despite these flaws and straying from the book, I liked the movie. The scenery was lush and believable. I particulary liked the underground room were Akasha and Enlil were kept. I also liked the Talamasca, particulary David. Maharet was just as I pictured her. There was an energy about the movie that was hypnotic. Early on in the movie I accepted the movie's campiness and just sat back to enjoy. In all, if you like vampire movies, see it, but don't expect it to follow the book.

Summary: not the vampire chronicles but not bad
Review: had i never known that this film's intention of following anne rice's marvelous vampire chronicles in advance was thrown out the window, i would've been sorely disappointed as this film literally takes poetic license with virtually everything anne rice gave us in her beautiful yet horrific novels. i won't bother with going into great detail on this because those who haven't read the books will be completely lost from the get go. let me just say that if you loved the book, you may not enjoy the film. however, those who love this film really do need to pick-up the books and slowly digest them as there is a lot to digest. by the looks of this review thus far, you might have the logical impression that i don't care much for this film. let's just say this. as a film, i actually had a great time and am glad i caught this on the big screen as opposed to a smaller screen in my living room. to watch this film as a horror film and nothing more, you probably won't hate it and might actually have a good time. the music reminds me somewhat of what we've heard in the lost boys or perhaps the crow series which does work well with the given atmosphere here. (very much eighties goth with an edgy but sensual quality to the music here) i also must comment that stuart townshend makes a more sensual lestat than tom cruise on any given day. however, i don't see much of an acting range here with mr.townshend and maybe this will change after he has made a few films and had the chance to devlop his style. as far as aaliyah is concerned, we only see her in fleeting moments for the first hour or so and then she is on the screen for the last thirty minutes approximately. unfortunately, i won't be a great judge here on her acting abilities as the film script may not have offered her much to manipulate. or perhaps it was her untimely death which didn't allow her to finish the role originally created?(god rest her young soul)i've also been told the rumour that her young brother has actually contributed his dubbed voice as ms.aaliyah couldn't finish this film. there are relatively good special effects here and i like those artsy-fartsy segments in the opening credits a bit too much i think. i suggest seeing this one for yourself as my review obviously differs greatly from everyone's elses.

Summary: I loved it...
Review: I am a vampire fanatic, and i thought this movie was excellent. I saw it last night and i plan on seeing it again this weekend and next. I thought the plot was great, and the cast was wonderful. The score was breathetaking and i am also buying that this weekend. I was doubtful of Stuart Townsend but i thought he was wonderful. the accents and costumes... i just all around loved... i didnt want the movie to end and i cant wait till it comes out on video or DVD. And i will be the first in line to see the next movie....

Summary: Queen of the damned Movie....inspired to read the books?
Review: I thought this movie was over all very good, If you go see the movie i suggest you DONT read the books first because one of my family members told me it didnt follow the book at all. The movie was definatly something to keep you awake during it because of its volume and suspense. This movie was so good that I wanted to read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.Anyway heres to the Review. The movie starts out with Lestat (Stuart Townsend) waking up from a decades long slumber and determined to make himself known to the world but while he is doing this he awakens a long lost friend....The "mother" Akasha (Aaliyah). The elders are up to thier necks in trouble. While Jesse is in love with Lestat and wants to live with him forever. The cast to this movie was a 8 out of 10. I thought Stuart Townsend was perfect for Lestat, Loud , irresistble and alot of experience (first movie dating back to 1996) Vicent Perez however, needed work, he would have been a great Marius if only they added long hair. I thought Aaliyah was perfect for Akasha, and she did very well for being inexperienced (god rest her soul)but, overall the casting was good. I am waiting for this movie to be released on video/DVD...
