Summary: Pretty scary sequel to the long running series...
Review: Although the script is horrible the movie was enjoyable, yet boring compared to part 1 and 2. Part 4 (1997) was pretty good too, but this installment had the most suspense, best atmosphere...and this one has lots of action and fight scenes with leatherface and one of the main characters, the last 20 minutes are good. Overall, a pretty good sequel to the original classic. Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 (1990) 81 min.Versions (widescreen director's cut and edited R version)

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Devoid of gore, suspense, coherency- R version
Review: This is the first "Chainsaw" movie I saw, and with TCM's reputation, I was grandly disappointed. I've never seen the "uncut" version but it must be more coherent or at least more gory of a movie than this hilariously edited mess of a "sequel," which is more of a re-make. Everyone involved complained of post-production hacking that makes "Leatherface" a very weak entry in the slasher genre.

The story, of course, involves a deranged cannibal clan, with no real relation to the first two flicks except for the Leatherface character, who hunt a trio of decent actors, including Ken Foree of "Dawn of the Dead" fame. Viggo Mortenson gives a good early performance but the film is very bland, very un-suspenseful, routine slasher fare, all culminating in the weakest ending imaginable after parts I and II.

Review: TCM3 had better scenes than the original but wasnt as
authentic as the first one. Since these movies keep stating
that sally hardesty survived the masacre back in 1973, I still wonder if the is any truth about this whole story. I recommend this movie for anyone who is not eaisly squimish. I only wrote this online review because I went to high school in souhtern california with the character who played the little girl, "jennifer banko" who also played in other movies.

Review: I bought thnking i waz in for a real good movie it turns out that i was wrong the movie is really poor, the characters have no good dialogue or background the only good thing to get out of these movie's is that Leatherface is cool to watch because a different person plays him in every movie and he get's slimer everytime and worse at the role but this was better than number two in the frightening way but i think people should think about renting before buying.

Summary: 'The saw is family'
Review: I thought this was going to be total (...) like part 4, but I'm actually surprised. Though its connections with part 2 are not there (besides the now dead Grandpa and Leatherface-obv), we still get that good ol' 'Texas Chainsaw' madness we've all come to love and loathe. The acting isn't special, nor is the script, and Leatherface isn't nearly as eerie as the one Gunnar Hansen portrayed in the original, but this sequel/rehash is just good dumb fun with a fair amount of gore (sadly I do not own the uncut version). This is one of those franchises that cannot do much in the way of sequels, I mean you've got the first barbaric (and often funny original), then the crrraaazzzyyyy part 2 and the 'new family' of this instalment (oh and the terminally stupid part 4). Overall this film is nothing more than a toungue-in-cheek horror flick, but it's definatly not a bad film. I wonder if it will get a release here in Britain? Not that I care as I bought a copy from USA (God bless America)

Leatherface fans be sure not to miss out.

Summary: SO SO
Review: This is the only entry in the series that I can stand. It's the usual jargon, but it has a nice touch of black humor. That's the only thing to keep you interested in this film. This series sucked from the start.

Summary: Surprisngly Well Made Sequel Provides Solid Chills
Review: When I originally saw this movie, it didn't impress me much. Didn't seem to be much to it, and the ending was a disappointment (both lead characters die in the end?). However, recently I purchased a letterboxed version (from Anchor Bay, I believe--but I could be mistaken) that had an ending different from the theatrical version I saw. Overall, my new viewing experience was much more positive. While I would have liked a couple more key scenes of KEN FOREE scrapping with Leatherface, overall, it was en enjoyable Halloween-styled thriller, with foggy swamps, weird, unpredictable characters and a few minor surprises.

NOTE: While this movie is not as intense as the original TCM, nor as twisted and sick as TCM2, it does have it's own charm, with a really nice, quality widescreen look, some genuinly creepy action scenes, and the two-fisted dueling of Horror Cult Favorite Ken Foree against your favorite masked killer. My major complaint: the Chainsaw family has a house that's a bit too clean and well-lit for their deranged lifestyle. Aside from that though, it's worth checking out as a scary, late-night rental with a date that likes to be spooked!
