Summary: Good, but too much comedy
Review: This film is a great comedy/horror film, but it was not what I was hoping to follow the original. It is a great film, and should be seen as it's own idea. It is a mock of the first TCM film, and I was hoping for some serious continuation of the characters from the original story. Dennis Hopper can bring a great performance to any role, even a silly horror/comedy popcorn flick. Tobe Hooper is directing again, and does an outstanding job. This would be his last film in the TCM series. If you have seen the original, you will like this film, but expect a much more lighthearted picture. If you have not seen the first one, you might want to view it first, to get you up to date on the plot and characters. Gunner Hansen does not play "Leatherface" is this film, and the darkness of the character is lost. He becomes a large, goofy, guy that runs around. It's funny, but the Leatherface character could have been right up there with Jason in the horror film killers of all time. Pick this one up, you won't be sorry.

Summary: This is why the eighties were so great
Review: They say the eighties were the decade of excess, well, I say it's the last decade where horror movies didn't totally suck, and TCM2 is a good example of a horror movie that doesn't suck!

Pretty much everything is here that a horror fan could want: gore, a pretty damsel in distress, a tortured anti-hero, a chilli contest. I don't know if Tobe Hooper ever talked with Stuart Gordon, but here is a perfect example of Gordon's maxum: More is not enough. And it really isn't, especially in this case. And yet, you get the sense this movie starts exactly where it wants to and finishes exactly where it wants to.

The DVD is a little skimpy on the special features, but, dude! C'mon! Ya gotta have it! Dennis Hopper, a hot heroine, a guy with a metal plate who eats the dead skin that forms around its edges, Leatherface, and Grandpa! Plus a pretty cool eights style soundtrack.

Return with us hither to yesteryear when horror movies didn't have to suck and popcorn cost only a buck!

Summary: Good sequal to a Great Movie
Review: Let me start off by saying this movie was less than what I was expecting. The first half of the movie was great. I started thinking it was better than the first... but as the movie went on, it got kinda boring in a way. Leatherface acted kinda different than he did in the origanall movie. He spares a girls life so he can try and have sex with her later. near the end it seems more like a remake than a sequal. The same things happend just as they did in the first one. Like with the Grandpa trying to hit the girl with the hammer, and the girl trys to run away and the brother runs after her outside. The part I dont understand is how the hell the brother is alive again???? In the first one he got killed by a truck! But he is still alive in this one. Overall I would say this is a good sequal to a great movie.

Summary: A Fair Sequel to a True Classic
Review: The Texas Chainsaw MAssacre being one of my all time favorite films to date, I was inclined to watch every subsequent chainsaw film. This film, made several years later and on a higher budget, while a fantastic horror masterpiece, was not as good as the original or the sequel which followed it. However, great gore sequences (More gore than the original) and tense horror action make this film a must see for any fan of the genre. I give this film a 3, or maybe a 3.5. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to horror fans.

Summary: Lick My Plate
Review: This is one fantastic horror flick(if you call call it horror). No redeeming qualities, just brutality and gruesomness up the wazoo. I think Tobe Hooper did a great job with this. I think he knew that he couldn't top the intensity and horror of the first film, so why try to rehash it? He made a good play by making this a comedy-an extremely black comedy. Since remaking the original would be doomed to failure(as the other sequels have proven), he figured he might as well give you something different. Aside from references to the first film, this can be viewed pretty much on it's own without looking at it as a real continuation of the story. There are numerous questions it raises(like who exactly is the guy with the plate? If he's supposed to be a brother, where was he in the first film? If he's supposed to be the hitchiker guy, wasn't he killed? The sequels also had a bad habit of adding new family members.), and those lead you to believe that these movies exist pretending that the other installments didn't happen(but the intros tell you that the films are connected, so you figure it out). Anyway, this film is WHACK! It really pushes the limits of the R rating in terms of violence and plain dementedness. It helps to watch it in the mindset that it's basically a spoof of the first one, and this time around it's not pretending to be an exercise in horror, just junkfood entertainment. Highly recommended. And Cannon was behind it!

It`s seems that Hooper wanted to make fun of his Original film and make it different. Dennis Hopper did definitely did this film for the Money but Hopper seems to be enjoying himself in Some Scenes.
