Rating: Summary: The best horror movie ever Review: This is the greatest horror movie ever. Bravo, Brian DePalmo!! I remember the first time I saw Carrie, I was scared sh--less. Extraordinary performance by Piper Laurie. Definetly a must see. It was just as good as the book.
Rating: Summary: A masterpice in true horror! Review: This isn't just another Stephen King rip off of a book. This was the first movie adapted from a Stephen King novel and by far the best. This movie shows high school life the way it is. If anyone doesn't feel the way Carrie does by the end of the movie hasn't been to high school. A friend of mine is having a birthday party this weekend and were going to have a scary movie marathon all night long. The first question everyone asked me, " You're bringing Carrie right?" I'm counting down the days till " The Rage: Carrie 2". No one has to be a genius to guess where I'll be on March 12. See ya at the theater!
Rating: Summary: Is this the same story? Review: I read the book, and I couldn't believe how great it was. When I saw the movie, cheesy horror scenes were added, the story was told differently, and it was hardly as moving as the book was. Obviously some cheesy horror scenes were added just to make the audience react. I guess the people who made this film didn't think the original story was as grabbing. If they stuck to the story, this movie would have rocked. I did think that Sissy Spacek did an excellent job and the cast chosen for the characters were matched perfectly.
Rating: Summary: Another Stephen King masterpiece Review: Carrie is my favorite horror movie of all time. "It" and "Friday the 13th" don't even come close. Piper Laurie makes a good religious freak, that's for sure. The book is a heckuva lot more thrilling, and the new sequel "The Rage:Carrie 2" which comes out March 12 will show you that even people like Carrie White can have followers.
Rating: Summary: It was okay. Review: After reading the book Carrie, I thought the movie didn't go into the specific points that the book did. I realize that the movie was made a while ago, but I didn't like the gym scene. I probably am use to today's standards for visual effects. It was nothing like the book (most movies aren't). Carrie didn't kill her mother like that in the book. She made her heart stop by TK, not stabbed her mocking the crucifixion of Christ. She didn't die in the book like that, either. Her mother stabbed her and she bled to death. The movie did what it could for a movie. I recommend the book more than I recommend the movie. But for those people that don't read, watch the movie. The movie showed Carries life, but did not explain what was happening, or why, or how things came to be in the end. It left out vital infomation about her past that made you feel even sorrier for her. All in all, the movie was okay. It told the story in a hour and a half as best it could. If you like the movie and haven't read the book, do so now.
Rating: Summary: "Carrie" is horrifying and chilling!!! Review: Right from the very start, this movie is sure to bring goosebumps and nightmares! Poor Carrie ( Sissy Spacek ). She's dangerously shy, kind of a scapegoat, and intensely withdrawn. She lives with her single religious fanatic mother ( an excellent performance by Piper Laurie )and is forced to do everything to her mother's wishes. So what happens when Carrie is suddenly asked to the prom by one of her tormentor's boyfriends? You'll find out if you rent this horror fest!
Rating: Summary: A horror classic Review: Stephen King`s horror classic, "Carrie" still remains as one of the best horror films ever made. Both chilling and riveting, the film is like a Cinderella story with a heavy dose of psychological horror. It tells of the title character, Carrie White. A repressed teenage misfit who also possesses harrowing psychic powers. Carrie is tormented and ridiculed at school, and the film takes a penetrating look at the dark heart of adolescent cruelty, as she is the target for every prank and joke. Carrie`s mother is almost psychotic, as she violently forces her daughter to become a slave to her own twisted religion. (But Carrie gets her back, believe me). The famous prom scene at the end is amazing, as Carrie unleashes her destructive powers against her classmates and teachers, after she is the butt of a grisly prank. Altogther, "Carrie" is a very satisfying film, with a good shocker and an eerie ending that will haunt you for a long time.
Rating: Summary: Horror at it's BEST! Review: Carrie is one of the all time Best Horror films of all time. Brian DePalma makes it work on several levels. He takes you Inside Carrie, actually feeling her tormented life, then blows you away with the terrible events that erupt. The prom scene is total cinematic gold. You smile at Carrie's happy moments, and shutter at the shear terror of her wrath. This is top notch film making, with a superb cast. Sissy Spacek & Piper Laurie are wonderful! It dosen't get any better than this. A MUST SEE VIDEO *****
Rating: Summary: This is a GREEEAAAAATTT movie!!!!!!!! Review: I recently watched Carrie for the fifth time. I am a movie critic and I must say, you get more into it every time you watch the film. You just ask big Kenny at the Caprice theater, I am there when ever a film shows! I LOVE CARRIE! It ties all my emotions in a rather large knot, that not even the doctors can cure! Well, running late for the new motion picture! Gotta go, report on the motion picture later!
