Summary: An exceptional horror film
Review: "Carrie" is not your conventional horror film. First off, the average viewer would not find this film very frightening at all. Second of all, "Carrie" has a lot of qualities that are completely absent from most horror films, such as poignancy and a believable story. Sissy Spacek delivers a heart-breaking performance as the title character, Carrie White. A shy and sexually repressed misfit who also possesses mysterious psychic powers. Brian De Palma`s breakthrough hit is a film that puts teenagers in a bad light, as it displays them, especially the girls, as malicious and vengeful beings. Although De Palma does an excellent job focusing on Carrie`s difficult life, showing the torment she has to endure, from both her cruel classmates and her psychotic mother. It will surely make the viewer feel sympathy towards her, something that is rare in a film of this genre. De Palma also uses his famous camera tricks, creating a mood that is both depressing and stylish. "Carrie" is famous for it`s prom scene climax, but it is the resolution after that is truly disturbing. There are also few "shockers" in this film that will be able to please the people who want some pure terror. But for others, "Carrie" will be remembered mostly for it`s tragic and haunting coming-of-age story that makes this film special.

Summary: Boring!
Review: I recently saw this movie, and boy was I bored. Nothing in this movie is scary, except for the music and the way Mrs. White looks.

Summary: WHAT A WAY TO GO
Review: Carrie White-the name people shudder for today. But in the book-based movie version with Sissy Spacek, the name only made people laugh. After all, everyone was her tormentor. Her mother is a religious psychopath that never teaches her own daughter the "facts of life". Carrie's shy, witty self is asked to the prom. Well, that has to be the biggest high school shocker since who knows what. It's too bad Carrie gets a prank pulled on her, because if you think a raging thunderstorm and hurricane turns into what it does after a calm point, then think of Carrie White as one ticked off hurricane after this prank. Sissy Spacek plays the part wonderfully. Oh, and for those waiting to see "The Rage: Carrie 2", it's not as good.

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: CARRIE IS AN EXCELLENT AND SCARY MOVIE! EVERYONE WAS GREAT IN IT, ESPECIALLY SISSY SPACEK AND PIPER LAURIE, AND IT WAS VERY SCARY. I'M GLAD CARRIE GOT REVENGE ON THEM. I READ THE BOOK AS WELL. THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD TOO. I CAN RELATE TO CARRIE VERY MUCH. I AM SORT OF A SCHOOL OUTSIDER MYSELF, AND I AM ALWAYS PICKED ON BY THE POPULAR PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE OF THE WAY I LOOK. I WISH I HAD THE ABILITY OF TELEKINESIS AND GET BACK AT THEM ALL. BUT OH WELL, ONLY IN MY DREAMS!

Summary: horror at its best
Review: i have this movie and think that sissy spacek is terrific as the shy, sheltered, slighlty scary, teen. Piper Laurie gives an oscar worthy perfomance as Margaret White, the deranged, obsessed, slightly, okay not slightly, absolutely warped mother...would watch again and again

Summary: Telekinesis kills....
Review: She was a young girl who grew angrier and angrier, and the town would become her outlet...

Carrie White was not aware of her extraordinary power. But it was enough to transform the small, quiet New England town into a holocaust of destruction beyond anyone's imagination. Innocent schoolgirl or vengeful demon, Carrie will make you shudder.... Guaranteed to chill you!!!

Summary: They're all gonna laugh at you . . .
Review: As with all DVDs, it is apparent that there is an abundance of information available and extras in the case, and on the disk itself, of Carrie. I really enjoy the "trailers", which are commericals, or previews, for the film. Carrie itself, is my favorite movie ever. I cannot imagine a film which could possibly move me more than this one has. It is the story of a highschool girl who is picked at and made fun of, and who has a fanaticly religious mother. Carrie, the school girl, is finally pushed over the edge, and this results it a shocking, and blatently horrifing ending. Bloody--from the beginning to the end, this movie will show you that you cannot go unpunished for making fun of the school geek, and what goes around, comes around. Awesome acting, teriffic special effects, wonderful score, supurb directing, and astounding filming/shots, this movie will chill you to the bone, bringing you "to the very depths of horror, and beyond." It's simply not your average cheesy horror flick. --a must have.

Summary: A great movie with a good performance by Sissy Spacek.
Review: This movie is really well-made. Sissy Spacek is exceptional as high-school misfit Carrie White, and Piper Laurie as her mother who is a religious fanatic. The camera work and angles are very effective and dramatic, especially the shots in which the knives are hurdled through the air, aimed at Carrie's mother. A must see for fans of the "good" horror movies, that means NOT Friday the 13th, part 85.

Summary: It's time to make peace with my own inner demons...
Review: Carrie was an excellent movie. Seeing it from my own perspective gave me a thoughtquake.

Like Carrie, I was a social outcast in high school and was often the victim of taunting and abuse. I won't get into the details here but school became a daily alter of humiliation. While watching this film gave me no lasting and fulfilling cathartic release, it has set the stage for things to come.

This October 31st is my 5th year high school reunion. I wasn't planning on attending the event but since viewing Carrie, I have reconsidered this decision. I will show up, say "hello" to the very same people who tortured me with their cruel ways, and then I will murder them. Them all.
