Summary: Ummm.....where's this gore ive been hearing about????
Review: First off I have to say that this is a very good movie. Too many people are trying to classify it as your generic horror movie...and that is very far from what this movie actually is. I watched it the first time and just couldnt understand what was going on at all so I watched again and well it didnt really help any. The main thing that let me down is the fact that so many people built this up to be a really gorey and disgusting movie....but this is obviously coming from people who dont take the time to watch a good horror film. I mean watch jason X and tell me that doesnt have way more blood and guts not to mention bodies than this movie does. So dont expect to be to grossed out and enjoy zombie's sick and twisted mind put to film.

Summary: This One Is A Dud
Review: I consider myself a bonafide horror movie buff. This, I must say, is one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen.

The script made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Rob Zombie must have been zoned out on acid when he wrote this junk. There was absolutely nothing scary about this movie. It had a little blood and gore but none of it was scary or entertaining.

Don't waste your money or time on this one, folks. It's a huge disappointment.

Summary: "Texas Chainsaw Massacare" meets "Natural Born Killers"
Review: I love this movie. The more gruesome and more bizzare it gets, the more I'm at the edge of my seat. It's one of the most creepy and psychadelic movies I've ever seen.....can't wait for the sequel to come out.

Summary: 70s Horror with a Modern Day Twist
Review: In the tradition of "Motel Hell" and "The Hills Have Eyes", Rocker Rob Zombie makes his writing/directing debut with House of 1000 Corpses. The plot is pretty generic: two couples make a roadside stop on their way home Halloween eve, 1978. They stop at Captain Spaulding's "world famous murder ride" and are so intrigued by the stories, they decide to venture further off the beaten path. They end up victims of an inbred family of maniacal killers. Veteran horror actors Sid Haig, Bill Mosely, and Karen Black put on great performances. Haig is especially memorable as Captain Spaulding. Zombie's real life girlfriend Sheri Moon rounds out the cast. Zombie's love for old horror movies is evident in this flick. He pays homage to several including the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and "Halloween". Several classic flicks like "The Wolfman" are seen in the background. His use of psychedelic color and grainy images is similar to what he does in concerts. It's not overdone however and the final result is great.

The sound and picture on the DVD are very good. The Dolby 5.1 track is well utilized. The menus are some of the most creative you are likely to see. Zombie wrote and directed speaking bits for the cast during the menu selection. Talk about dedication! Extras on the DVD are limited. In a recent interview, Zombie said that much of the "behind the scenes" stuff is missing. This is mostly due to the fact that it took some 3 years and a couple of different movie studios before the film was finally picked up and released by Lions Gate. Apparently there is a lot of cut footage that was necessary to get the films R-rating vs. an NC-17. Zombie has said he will link it back into the film properly when he has time to do so. In the meantime, a sequel is already in the works.

If you are a fan of horror movies, particularly those filmed in the 1970s, then you owe it to yourself to check out this gem. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.

Summary: Humor-value earns the 2 stars
Review: While this movie doesn't exactly revolutionize the horror genre, it does persevere through horrid moments by use of humor. Unfortunately, this humor is really childish in some places.

If you're in to campy horror, give it a shot. But even then, don't expect too much.

Summary: House of 1000 corpses
Review: Utterly pathetic!!! I rented this movie expectng a gorefest and all i got was a cheap ... knock off of Texas chainsaw (which was like 1,000 times better!). There is little good i can say about this movie, except for I liked the opening credits, that was about the only origional thing about the movie... and i did laugh pretty hard when they skined that chick's father...that was pretty good. One thing that really [ticked] me off was the lack of gore that everybody was raving about. This movie is not that violent at all. Maybe if your like, the type of person that gets queasy over the site of blood.. uuhh...yeah. This movie really [stinks].. rock stars need to quit trying to make horror movies..Anyone ever see "Strange Land" by DeeSnyder? Its that bad too.. So, if you wanna see a really good shocker movie, try "The cook the thief his wife & her lover", or "Mothers day".

soo... yeah, im just glad i didnt pay with my money to see this pathetic excuse for a horror movie!

Summary: Save your Time and Money
Review: I was totally surprised at the poor acting and poor directing.
The plot was senseless jumping from one thing to another.
I waited for the release of this movie because all the hype suggested that this was going to be a classic.
It was, a classic failure.

Summary: Watch it because it is a ROB ZOMBIE movie!!!
Review: This movie was not that bad, considering how bad the censors were on him to make it a -non- gorey flick. Rob was determined to release it in the theaters, which i think was a stupid idea. He hardly made any money on it and did'nt do what he set out to do (scare and shock us with true horror). I say if he had just released it straight to video, he probably could've put anything his gruesome heart desired onto it. But no, he put it in on the big screen and turned alot of anxious viewers away, while scaring others of the cheesy acting.

Don't get me wrong now, it was very different from any other teen sex running through woods away from big knives and burnt faces. But it really disappointed me, waiting a long time for it to come out and lets just say for me and alot of others not what I expected. I expected GORE!

Please, Please Rob Zombie come out with a Director's Cut! Until then i will keep the movie on the rental shelf.

Review: One of the worst horror movies I have seen. Poor acting, poor story line and just not scary. No surprises here just gore with no scare behind it.

Summary: This is a terrible movie!!!
Review: In terms of horror movies, this one doesn't cover any new ground. Rob Zombie does an all right job for his first time directing (there ARE high production values); however, the movie doesn't gel into anything more than teens running around with the usual horror movie characters chasing them. I was really hoping for more. Watch "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Halloween" or "Dawn of the Dead" instead.
