Summary: Good for Vampire Fans, not so good for Ann Rice fans....
Review: I have been an Ann Rice fan for 8 years. I Read all the Vampire Books several times over, all the Audio CD's...the whole she-bang. The first movie Interview with the Vampire was excellent and had some key points from the book version. Then they made QOTD. First, Lestat's appearance, while in the books is always carefully described as being gorgeous blond hair, blue eyes, etc
In Queen of the Damned we have a ratty dark haired youth that by looks does not in any way embody the Lestat we readers have grown to love. Then the scandalous idea in Queen of the Damned that MARIUS was Lestat's maker. Rubbish. The TRUE origins of Lestat are far more interesting as in the book. And there again was Marius in the movie, not the blond haired Norse\Roman from the book, no, they made him look like an Italian! Dark hair cut short! Who ever heard of a short-haired Vampire?? Well the acting was quite good, effects marginal, but Stuart Townsend did manage to convince me of his ability to perform an adequate Lestat, and for me that was good enough. If you read the books you understand my meaning....oh yes...and then they have the audacity to not include Mekare in the film. Totally crapped on the books they did.

Summary: Cool Sexy Movie
Review: Although the movie misses out alot of the books Story and depth. Stuart Townsend and Vincent Perez are amazing as Lestat and Marius. The movie is fun, and exciting to watch. The character of Jessie is terribly portrayed, but everyone else more than makes up for her. I love this movie! The music is great. If you like Anne Rice, or vampire movies, this is a good one to have.

Summary: Best Movie Ever
Review: Queen of the Damned is the best movie I have seen in a long time, it is good, clean, simple fun. Though it is not at all like the book, it carries out themes and plots that were in the book. Basically the book had things in it that weren't appealing to most audiences so the director & screen writer changed things a bit. The movie really is rather good though. It is not very confusing and it has a lot of action in it. The music from it was also very good because Johnathan Davis (the guy from Korn) helped write it.

Summary: different......
Review: all in all i enjoyed this movie. it wasnt bad(not that it was that good though either). It really didn't follow the two books it borrowed from( queen of the damned and the vampire lestat)As a lestat lover and Anne Rice fan I really was annoyed by somethings though.

1. Lestat has blondish hair....maybe they forgot??
2. Marius did NOT make lestat, magnus did..whoops..
3. I feel Stuart made a very good vampire: arrogent, controlling, dominant, etc. but i was not swayed by his job as lestat. I loved tom cruise as lestat. Dont forget that toms lestat was during the 18th century, and stuarts was in the 80's( a little different, hard to compare the two together.)
4.when there are twins there are TWO, not one. Maybe i am blind but i didn't see the other twin?
5. where was louis, armand, nikki, etc????
6.i thought the soundtrack went really well with the movie. i love it!
7.i wish they did more with magnus finding lestat and the whole wolves in the woods thing. that would of been cool.
all in all it wasn't bad. a better cast and a few script changes would of made it alot better. i recomend reading the cronicles, but also seeing the movie.

Summary: Best vampire movie ever
Review: Queen of the Danmed was better than Interview with a Vampire. Stuart Townsend played a great vampire of today. This movie has something for everybody horror, romance, and action. Even though Aaliayah was only in it for about fifteen minutes but she was great. I totally recommend this movie.

Summary: blah
Review: i am a big fan of the vampire cronicles and all of Anne Rices work. Interview With The VAmpire had to be one of my most favorite movies. When i heard that Queen Of The Damned was coming out i got very excited. I was extremly upset whan i saw who was casted. I thought Tom Cruise did a superb job as Lestat. He made Lestat come to life for me. Stuart Townsend killed that image. His hair was too dark, his accent funny, and he was nothing like the tom lestat. Armand (who wasn't even introduced)was short ,chubby, and had very short curly blonde hair, nothing like the armand in IWTV. it was like the just made the movie, didnt bother to read the books more than once and completely forgot about TWTV. i enjoyed some of the effects, and the music wasnt bad. i saw it twice and maybe will rent it but it deffinatly isnt of the same calibur as IWTV.

Summary: A well done adaptation of the book
Review: Okay, so I haven't read the book, but i've heard a lot aabout it and I saw the movie. I know they only kept the basic ideas and changed a lot of the details, but I still thought it was great. The acting was good, and Stuart Townsend has awesome eyes !

Summary: Aaliyah, we love you forever. . .
Review: Yes, Aaliyah was the movie. I can't think of anyone else that would've been perfect for this role. No, it wasn't anything like "Interview With The Vampire", but that was what made this movie great, especially with teens. They don't like to watch that going-back-a-couple-centuries [stuff]. They like flat out gore and that's exactly what you get with this movie.

When I saw Aaliyah, as the beautiful Akasha, walk into the room for the first time in the bar scene, I thought "That is the creepiest person I have ever seen, but at the same time the most beautiful".

The film did not make that much at the box office, but when it comes out on video and DVD, everyone will own a copy. Not just because of Aaliyah, but because of the spectacular soundtrack that made the movie flow so beautifully.

The movie is horrifying, romantic and chilling all in one. This is, so far, on my top 10 list this year...
