Summary: Scariest King film.....
Review: This is a scary movie by the master of horror. And Pet Sematary is a good horror film. I'm sure everyone knows what it is about. The Creed family has moved to Maine and it starts off happy then all hell brakes loose. Church their cat is found dead. But I won't give away more details just watch the movie... If you dare, or read the book!

Summary: SCARY AS HELL
Review: If you a view of this movie who has young children - this movie is either for you or not for you. What I mean is - if the one of the last scenes of poor Gage stumbling around backwards after his dad injects him with a deadly serum after resurrecting him from his early grave and chanting little kid words like: "Ouch, no fair daddy," then you'll understand that the scene is not only haunting, but sad. This is one damn scary movie, and with Fred Gwynn in it, it's like icing on the cake. Anybody I have talked to who have ever seen the movie really doesn't watch it again because of the horrific scenes...but a true horror fan, like myself, will watch it over and over...especially around Halloween!! Of course, the book is incredible, and your mind can come up with some pretty horrific imagery.

Summary: One of those bad Stephen King adaptions.
Review: "Pet Sematary" affirms the fact that, while being a good novelist, Stephen King is a terrible screenwriter. He once complained that Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" was an injustice to his book, but I watched "Pet Sematatry" with that exact thought in mind. I loved the book, and have read it many times. The movie does it no justice.

Louis Creed (Dale Midkiff), his wife (Denise Crosby), their two children, and their cat Church move to the country to start their lives anew. They meet their new neighbor, Jud Crandal (Fred Gwynne), and learn about a path in their back yard that leads to an animal graveyard and an indian burial ground beyond it. The road outside their house is a danger in itself, with big rig trucks passing by all day and all night. When their cat church is killed on the road, Louis is introduced to the power of the indian burial ground, which has the power to bring the dead back to life. When tragedy strikes later on, the powers of the burial ground tear the family apart, and lead to violent ends.

The movie has it's share of creepy, and bloody moments, but they come nowhere near matching the potentcy of the book. For someone who has not read the book, this is probably a good horror movie, but for people like me, it is a waste of time. The movie follows the key points in the book, but omits a lot of the good stuff, making the movie seem disgustingly unfaithful. While the book introduced characters that were believeable, and people we could sympathize with, the way they are painted in the movie is one-dimensional and totally uninteresting. The actors involved seem to play their parts in their sleep, as if the movie were rehearsed once, and they trusted their luck.

The widescreen transfer and good picture quality aside, there are no extra features that come with this DVD. No commentary, no trailers, and no featurettes. If you like the movie enough on it's own to buy the DVD, than it is worth it. For almost everyone else, including horror fans, it is wise to overlook this one altogether. "Pet Sematary" will go down in history as one of those "bad book adaptions".

Summary: The Scariest Movie, STILL!
Review: Here's a brief rundown.
Family moves into house. Tradgedy strikes. Family is torn apart. Spooky old neighbor tell tales of bringing the dead back to life. Family resorts to trying that. Works. People dead all over again ! LOL

This movie was the scariest movie when I saw it in the movie theater and STILL to this day remains the SCARIEST I have ever seen. I was a the most unusual kid I know of, grew up with a special FX storage area in my basement. Most kids thought they had monsters in their basement but I ACTUALLY did! Hah! I was never afraid of any movies. This one still makes me shake when I think about it! It's a must see! If you can keep your eyes open long enough!

Summary: Geese!
Review: Frankly when I pulled this of my video shelf, I had no idea what I was getting into. This film has a very negative outlook on life and is King's most disturbing to date. It is alos very scary. I was surprised on how scared I got. This earns my respect. My friend couldn't get through this movie! I love it. True horror!

Summary: sometimes dead is better
Review: 'Pet Sematary' is a really good movie its about Louis Creed, his wife Rachel, daughter Ellie, and son Gage. Ellie's cat, Church, gets run oveer by an ornico truck, so the nice old neighbor Judd Crandall, tells Louis about the Micmac Burying ground just beyond the Pet Sematary. when Church comes back, he acts half there, and stinks of the grave. then when his son has the same fate of the cat, Louis sends Rachel and Ellie off to Chicago, digs Gage out of his grave, and burys him a second time in the Micmac Burying ground, when Gage comes back he is a murderous devil child, Gage murders Judd and Rachel, then Louis kills Gage, so he ends up dieing twice, then Louis burys Rachels body and when she comes back to life she murders Louis, so the only survivor of the Creed family is Ellie, who later goes hysterical, and only can say two words 'pet sematary', overall the movie was pretty good, i liked it, and sometimes dead IS better
