Summary: Storm of the Century--> Greatest Movie Ever!
Review: Storm of the Century has an all star cast (even though they aren't the mosy famous stars. It presents comedy, drama, horror, suspense, and love in this greatly portrayed adaptadation of King's story. The length may seem too long to some but I think to present all the elements that make it great is necessary. I would recommend this film to everyone!

Summary: Gave me what I wanted!
Review: This movie did just that...gave me what I wanted in the form of excellent entertainment. So here comes this "being" out from nowhere and invades this island of people who are not so "innocent". He wants something and proves to the island folk that he is a force to be reckoned with and they basically have no choice but to give him what he wants. This is the type of film that makes you think "What could I do?" and the answer is really nothing, there is nothing anyone could do. It grabbed me in such a way that even though it's four hours I could not look away after about four minutes. I would like to see a pre-quel so we could find out more about where Andre Linoge (the "being") came from. Has there been a history of people like him? Was Andre taken away from his parents so the guy before him could continue his ways? This film definitely is the best thing that has been on TV and I am unsure if anything will ever top it. By the way, I recently compiled a list of my Top 100 most favorite movies and "Storm of the Century" came out at #1 beating some very popular films like Titanic, Fargo, and Jurassic Park. Of course The Shining and The Green Mile were also on that list, but Storm of the Century is the best.

Summary: A fun movie to watch
Review: I do not want to spoil the movie so I will omit the telling details. Let me just say that I really liked the villian in this picture, and I enjoyed the fact that they blurred the line between right and wrong... even up to the end. If you like strong bad guys, this is the movie for you.

Summary: Good vs. Evil and Evil wins
Review: It's been a while since I originally saw this mini series on TV and I had forgotten how delightful Stephen King books play out on TV. Having just watched the entire 256 minutes straight through, I have to say Storm of the Century is riveting and entertaining. I have to admit that much of my fascination with this mini series stems from my love of the islands off the coast of Maine. I have visited many and it's so much fun to imagine that the "pure" people of any of those islands may hide secrets such as the inhabitants of Little Tall Island. This is the classic good vs. evil story with a more realistic and yet surprising ending. While I thought the town would band together to fight the evil Linoge, it seems the sins of the past were more important and the town wanted to keep them buried. Who would think that among so much entertainment and so much evil, that there is an important lesson to be learned...

Summary: Reading the screen play was better
Review: The screen play was definetly better. The dvd version was decent, the acting not the best, and you can tell it was made for television. Some of the graphics were obviously fake. The story behind it though was pretty good, although it could have been cut from four hours to two hours. You can read the book in less time. If you got nothing to do, its worth a watch, though it's probably more interesting if you haven't read the book, there is the element of surprise.

Review: This was one of the best movies that I have ever seen. This movie follows the book word for word. It was a pretty long movie however for any true Stephen King fan that really does not matter.

Summary: Born in sin, come on in
Review: STORM OF THE CENTURY was the first original work written by Stephen King for television. It is just superb! The story takes place on the fictious New England island of Little Tall. The small community is shaken by the murder of an elderly woman, committed by a mysterious stranger, Andre Linoge (Played with errie perfection by actor Colm Feore). Things are further complicated by the onset of a crippling snow storm. The residents must confront their own fears, deepest secrets, and evil itself. The cast led by Tim Daly, Feore, Jeff De Munn, and Deborah Farrentino do a decent job bringing the story to life. Feore is the best of the pack. Unlike the recent original King telepic ROSE RED, STORM relies more on story and plot than F/X, it's creepy from the start and that is sustained throughout the mini series. It has a perfect mix of scares that are enhanced by the atmosphere. As a viewer, the storm's onslaught is quite believeable, and doesn't apear fake The only extras on the DVD are a trailer, cast and crew info and a great commentary by King and Director Graig R. Baxley. The comments from King are especially insightful as he tells it like it is. The movie is must have for King fans and anyone who likes great Horror and Suspense

Review: When the very first words out of the "bad guy's"(antagonist's) mouth are:"born in lust, turn to dust...born in sin, come on in!" then there is nothing else left for you as the spectator to do other than just to kick back, lounge and wait for the mystery to unravel right before your un-believing eyes.
In a career that has been steadfastly escalating ever since he joined hollywood, Colm Feore, has shown that he truly is un-destructible. He has been in BIG blockbusters (Iron Eagle II, Pearl Harbor) but...and again but it is actually in this movie, I believe, that Mr. Colm has surpassed the very best standards that have been set in Hollywood.
COLM FEORE as ANDRE LINOGE is the very best there is in this art medium of showbiz.
"Give me what I want, and I'll go away...refuse and you shall walk into the sea two by two, like you saw it in your dreams."

Summary: Better than average King mini with different ending
Review: I was surprised that I actually liked the ending to 'Storm of the Century', Stephen King's mini series about a small blizzard ravaged town who gets visited by a great evil. Without any spoilers, I have to say that the ending comes out of left field and, although not quite a happy ending, it was definately different and strangely satisfying. The series itself is pretty good. I would actually rate it 3 and a half stars. Tim Daly and the rest of the cast are pretty good, especially Canadian actor Colm Feore as Linoge, the dark stranger raising supernatural chaos. Although he is quite evil, the terror that he brings is not too apparant. He has all these evil powers and such, but he doesn't really bring them to bear on the hapless citizens. There is something the townspeople have that he wants, but I figure if you can do magic, heck, just take what it is you want. Still, it's good viewing, especially for King fans.

Review: Little Tall Island and in its inhabitants are forced to face a furious storm that is accompanied by a mysterious stranger who calls himself Andre Linoge. He has one simple request, "Give me what I want and I'll go away." Stephen King's first straight-to-the-television screen film is a well-made thriller with an emphasis on story and scares over extreme gore. A little too long at 256 minutes, but it's intelligently written, suspenseful, and builds up nicely to a superb ending, one of King's best and most thought-provoking. Great performances from Tim Daly as the likable town constable and Colm Feore as the sinister Linoge. Effective and brooding score from Gary Chang.
