Summary: Who doesn't like campy?
Review: Well, most people. But for those of us that enjoy a cheap thrill for our buck, this is a great movie to check out. Geoffrey Rush and Famke Janssen are entertaining yes, but the real entertainment lies in the supporting cast. Particularly Chris Kattan as Prichett. The movie is worth seeing JUST for him. He added life and comedic spark to a movie that would've been a lot different without him. I recommend it.

Summary: VERY FUNNY !
Review: This remake "terror" movie is so funny, I must give it 4-star! The cast is very good, and is fun to see PEter Gallagher in the middle of this crazy trip ! No scary moments here, only good special effects and characters with double personalities and totally stereotyped. (the athlete, the ambicious woman, the famous doctor, the great business-man, the pretty blond) GOod entertainment project !

Summary: WOW!
Review: This movie was great. I usually don't get into movies that much but this movie had so many twists and turns, also it was very suspenceful. If you like movies with gore mind games and just strait up horror buy it. I recomend it to anyone who doesn't want to sleep through the night.

Summary: Bloody, gory, bad.
Review: Hmm. This movie is perfect for those who like to see graphicviolence and mediocre effects, but personally I prefer movies thathave less in the way of twitching limbs and screams as you hear each slice of the knife in lieu of suspense and excitement. I worried more about how gross the next death would be rather than how the characters would fare. Personally I hoped they would all die.

Summary: Excellent movie, up until the end that is
Review: House on Haunted hill was a much better horror movie than TheHaunting. However, it did suffer the same fate as the Haunting, although it was much more minor. Up until a certain point, the movie was very scary and kept me on my seat. I'll still buy this movie, but wish they could redo the ending.

Summary: Excellent
Review: House On Haunted Hill is one of the better horror movies tocome out in a while. The movie to many may not seem "scary"but at times it can be and it is all because of the movie pushing the plot. We've seen the plot before of course, people trapped in a house that is haunted but the way they build it all up and how in between it becomes a "who dunnit" type thing until the very end is very creative. William Castle was an excellent horror director and this is a great remake unlike "The Haunting" which was horrible and probably turned most away from this movie. This movie is nothing like "The Haunting", it definetly better with a better plot. I suggest you take a look at this movie because it is excellent and then go to the theaters and see "13 Ghosts" which will be remade in 3-D (it's another William Castle remake).

Summary: WOW - Let me explain...
Review: There are quite a lot of mixed reviews here, and I'm afraid potential viewers may be confused by them. Let me try to clear this up.

The ones that didn't enjoy it just didn't seem to get the point. While this film certainly has its cheesy moments, it's clearly intended as a throwback to those horror films of old, particularly the one by the same name that it's meant to remake. Geoffrey Rush does a great job as the Vincent Price character, for instance, as no one else could.

That having been said, WOW - what a great film! I'm a fan of horror movies, new and old, but most are very disappointing and/or predictable. This one had me not only scared, but actually almost uneasy at some points. There are some really excellent moments in the film. While the plot isn't terribly intricate, it's got a few twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Although I agree that the very end is a bit of a let down, I think that's just emphasized in large part by the quality of the previous 95% of this film. I strongly recommend this to any fan of the genre, particularly those interested in older Vincent Price era films. This film pays a very respectable tribute to them, and you won't be disappointed.

If you just like a scare, you'll enjoy it for that, too. There are some good ones, with plenty of tension in between. It starts right out of the gate, and doesn't let up much, if at all. While you won't be disappointed, if that's all you're looking for, you'll be missing some of those other, more subtle qualities which really make this film great.

It's like a rollercoaster ride that lasts for an hour and a half. Speaking of which, don't miss those scenes - some of the most innovative I've seen. Enjoy!

Summary: The casting was inspired!
Review: With the collaborative effort of Robert Zemeckis and Joel Silver involved, you should expect nothing less than genius. That is exactly what is delivered in House On Haunted Hill (1999). The cast is perfectly suited to each character played. Chris Kattan ROCKS! Geoffery Rush shines as the Vincent Price"esque" billionaire. Although it is a remake of a classic, this film brings horror to life in a way that only current technology can. The 1950's version had to rely on wire hung ghosts and surprise effects, whereas the 1999 version leaves nothing to the imagination, as it brings terror to a new level...reality.

Summary: It was a very scary ride!
Review: I thought that this movie was really good. It had a neat story behind it and had scary parts. plus, good acting.
