Summary: A medicore thriller at best
Review: I can't understand how this film can ever relate to the horror genre. It's overhyped because there is nothing in there to scare a child. I myself get scared very easily and was anticipating a lot from this little film, but when I watched it, I became very disappointed. I apperciate the effort they've put in this film, it was not boring, but it's not worth buying.

Summary: Not a total disappointment
Review: The Blair Witch Project is an good film and I liked it a lot. It is very spooky and the atmosphere surreal. I have been a diehard horror film since I was a kid and I thought what made the movie successful is the viewer has to forget the old formula horror films and put themselves in place of the actors. Sometimes it is what you don't know is what makes a movie scary and if you were in that situation, it would be frightening. As far as the shaking of the camera and bad lighting goes, it adds a touch of realism you would expect if you made such a film yourself. In summary, I have always liked off-beat horror films, I have seen some very good ones and some very bad ones, and I would place the BWP towards the good ones.

Summary: Don't waste your time with the movie, just watch the extras
Review: I watched the movie, and quite honesly I do not understand what the big deal was. It was interesting in terms of the dynamics of three people lost in the woods, but in tersms of a horror movie, it fails terribly. The extras were infinitely scarrier than the movie itself. I also believe that any movie which cannot stand on its own (without the aid of its website or extras) is not a good movie and rises slightly above a gimmick.

Summary: BRILLIANT
Review: LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE BEFORE ME ,WHO'VE SEEN THIS FILM, AND UNDERSTOOD IT.WE THOUGHT IT WAS BRILL .TO JUDGE THIS MOVIE, I REALLY DO INSIST YOU SEE IT FIRST.ONLY YOU CAN BE THE JUDGE & JURY.

Summary: Great premise, poor execution
Review: Like many people, I too first viewed BWP during the recent "Season of the Witch", and like many others, was left somewhat disappointed. I was a very willing participant and was looking forward to some chills and terror, but unfortunately the film failed to deliver. I believe the filmmakers let the viewers off the hook too easily - there is tension and terror in the night, yet these scenes seemed too short. It is essentially a long build-up (relatively speaking) with an all too brief pay-off.

Summary: a waste of money
Review: My husband and I have a collection of numerous types of movies and this one will not be added to it. It was not, by any means, scary! The language could have used some cleaning up. It was by far the worst movie we have ever seen and it was the biggest waste of money. We definitely won't make our collection.

Summary: total let down
Review: I bought the movie thinking it was really going to be about something because it was really talked up good. But I was wrong, the movie was not scary at all. I don't recommend anyone buying it not even renting it.

Summary: Bad.
Review: Boring. Not scary. Stupid. Extra star for the fact that all 3 annoying characters die.

Summary: BWP is a masterpiece..
Review: Without a doubt, BWP is the scariest movie I've ever seen. No movie has ever drawn me INTO it like this move did. I was there with Heather, Josh and Mike, lost and frightened in the woods. It was the fear of the unknown that really got to me. A true psychological thriller. I'm sure if Hitchcock were alive today, he would have loved this movie. This movie messed with your mind. You didn't get into the movie.. the MOVIE got into you! At several points in the video, I found myself leaning into the television trying to hear the sounds in the woods more clearly.. I didn't think of just turning up the volume on the remote! I normally do not get emotionally invloved in movies, because most of the time, I know it's a movie. BWP was different. This movie was as real as it gets. No music score to add phony atmosphere. No phony dialogue. Just three people and a couple of cameras, recording their dreams, hopes and fears for all the world to see. The acting was superb, because at no time did I feel anybody WAS acting. Heather Donahue deserves an Oscar for her role.. she was simply outstanding.. as were Mike and Josh. I can't say enough about this film. Judging from the reviews I've seen, you either loved this movie or hated it. That's fine. We're all entitled to our own opinions. But I think in time, history will show BWP was a defining movie in filmmaking. It has set a new standard of horror that will be difficult to match, let alone top. Brilliant, superb, masterful, take your pick. BWP is not a movie.. it's an experience! Don't miss it!

Summary: Wow, you read MY review out of all 600 reviews? Thanks.
Review: Well this movie was quite amazing, however not original. Tons of indie films have done this. Heck, even you amatuer filmmakers have done it. However the BIG WOW is the HYPE that was generated. And how the hype made some people believe (Shall I dare say?) that the BWP was a REAL DOCUMENTARY! You don't say? The webpage was better than the movie, I thought. The Audio Commentary was interesting on the DVD. (Oh and to whomever says skip the DVD version...why? So you can have JUST the Blair Witch Project? Why not spend $10 more and get the Curse of the Blair Witch and the commentary?) Oh and the greatest part of the DVD, freeze frame in perfect picture quality that contraversial ending to see what really is standing/hanging/masterrr whatever in the corner. And mark my words, no one will really remember BWP in 5 years.
