Summary: Blows...
Review: This movie blows. It looked like a middle school project. It really sucks

Summary: The most overhyped/rated movie in years
Review: This "film" is no good. It is neither scary, interesting nor well-made. A complete waste of time.

Summary: Hansel & Gretel meets Dumb & Dumber
Review: Within the first 5 minutes of the movie, I couldn't wait for the characters to be killed off by something, anything...I'm begging!

The movie does not frighten at any point nor on any level. The only level where the film succeeds is in the creation of the most annoying, witless, slacker, and congenitally stupid characters in cinematic history. I would throw the video away today but the Swiss authorities would have just cause to fine me for littering.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: Obviously all those people who didn't like this movie have never gone camping. They don't realize that camping in the woods at night can be quite creepy. Yeah maybe sticks and stones laying around in the day isn't scary, but that's because you're watching it. I found it creepy because I was picturing myself in the woods with those campers. This was a great movie because it was original and not overblown with blood and gore. A lot of people say that the college kids in it said the 'F' word way too much. Well, if you were lost in the woods that was supposedly haunted by a witch, and heard noises at night, I don't think you'd be using G-rated language.

Summary: Rent it once -- don't buy it...
Review: Yes, if you saw it in theatres you were probably impressed that you could get that creeped out without so much as even one drop of blood or hatchet being swung. That's the best part of this film, since most viewers knew it was just a mock-umentary of three kids searching for a witch in the Maryland woods. The fear is totally self-induced. It's all in your mind and in what you IMAGINE is out there. It doesn't rely on slasher gimmicks to frighten you.

It also struck me as impressive that no music is used and yet we still felt the terror build up throughout the film.

Downsides: the profanity is a bit overdone, (I mean, people curse, but hardly THAT much!) and Heather's bossiness gets obnoxious after a while. I'd say rent this once even if you saw it in the theatre, just so you can answer any questions you had after the first viewing.

Bottom line: This is NOT the kind of horror flik you will play again and again. Once or twice is more than enough!

Summary: Better to call it the Blair Witch Bomb
Review: Amid all the hype about this movie I saw a "documentary" about it on TV and thought it might be real. My sister, daughter and I had to go to a city 130 miles away to see it. What a waste! Turns out the documentary was scarier than the movie. My daughter, who is 19, really was unnerved. My sister and I kept looking at each other thinking "We paid money for this?" My thought was that if I was lost in the woods, to heck with the cameras, let's get our attention on getting unlost. I think you would have to be in your teens or early twenties to be able to identify with these foul mouthed college students. I just couldn't make the stretch.

Summary: The Blair Warner Project.
Review: This is the story of 3 Northern New York state students (Tootie, Natalie and Jo) who search the woods to find Blair. Sorry I can't go on. But my point is this sounds far more interesting than this film actually is. I usually love a good success story especially when it involves an "Independent" movie but truly the hype was more exciting and it also killed the film. Why couldn't this success find more deserving movies, insert title here_________________________.

Summary: A good psychological horror film
Review: There was much hype surrounding this film and when I saw it I understood why. This is a very original film, very mature, realistic, a little frightening and had a good plot. This is now a cult film and will go down in history. Some people may not like the wobbly camera work, but it's still a cool film.

Summary: Save your money!
Review: I viewed this movie at the suggestion of my brother who thought it to be "excellent," and "Scary." I must say that I was never more disappointed in a movie than I was in this one.

Now before the fans of this movie attack, hear me out. I am a big fan of psychological thrillers, and classic horror. While the idea behind the movie was very fresh, the resulting project was not. The movie started out very promising, and degenerated into a study in how many ways to use the F word. I mean, I am not a prude or anything, but I felt it would have been nice if these three people had another word in their vocabulary, I work at a local community college, and while yes students do use the word, they do have a much wider vocabulary.

Secondly, twigs and rocks arranged on the ground are not very frightening. And if these and other little incidents continued to happen, and they were truly afraid why did they continue filming? Any person in their right mind if frightened does not continue to film away! There was many other things in the movie that didn't work, however let me close here by saying when we left the theatre people waiting outside were surveying customers who were in the same theatre as my family and I, half of the customers loved it, the other half including me and my family hated it.

This is the kind of movie which will have very strong support and opposition. Upon speaking to my brother who recommened the film, I found out that at the time he watched it, he believed that some of the footage was real. That is something that I understand a lot of people who enjoyed it and were frightened by it thought as well. I had already read about the movie and new that it was only movie footage, hence some of that shock he experience was lost on me.

The movie which I saw the following week but enjoyed much more was the Sixth Sense, while it did not scare me either, it gave me a little more to think about.
