Summary: I hope this doesn't start a trend
Review: Having been a horror junkie since the 50's this movie was a great disappointment. While the premise was intriguing, the payoff was not. When you start looking at the clock after a half hour it is a bad sign for any movie. While trying to maintain a documentary feel was assumed, the movie was badly in need of editing, writing, less jiggling camera work, and a sense of what horror is about. There were no scary moments except my wondering how many more times they were going to say the word "fu**" again. Want a good scare? Watch "Sixth Sense" or the "Changeling." Don't buy this movie, rent it first, then come back to Amazon.com if you feel you really want to own it.

Summary: As a former police officer I found it temptingly good, but..
Review: ...I took my three sons, ages 13, 11, & 8, to view this movie with me! Big mistake! Scared the "pee" out of them and had me wondering if it was real evidence footage or a clever mockup of a real event? I liked it overall, but thought the inordinate use of the F**K word and bantering between the "filmakers" was somewhat drivel and redundant. Now my sons & I are going to breakout our camping gear & camcorder for our own low budget "horror" hit! Watch for it at your local theater, Sooooon!

Review: Did I see a different movie than everyone else? Go see Peter Weir's "Picnic at Hanging Rock" instead.

Summary: You've never seen any movie like this
Review: This movie displays horror in it's purest form. No special effects, no distracting music. The actors display genuine fright, not something from a script. I absolutely loved this movie, because of the unique filming technique and just the emphasis on human emotion, rather than blood or the body count. Unlike high budget Hollywood, which relies on big effects to get a scare, this movie concentrates on how the actors feel. After all, horror is an emotion. This movie scares you sensless without ever giving you anything to be scared of. Having to use your imagination to come up with the scariest thing you can think of is what makes this movie so horrifying. The actors play off of each other perfectly. There's no over acting or deep dialog. The behavioral changes with the characters throughout the movie are believable. And let's face it, being lost in haunted woods and waking up in the dead of night to unearthly sounds is enough to scare even the most sensable person to death. Don't watch it in the dark.

Summary: One of the most original ideas for a movie I've ever seen.
Review: I've been going to see movies for more years that I like to think of and I was so glad to see a completely original movie and one that surprised me. When I saw this movie, my friend told me it was an absolute true story and these were the actual videos found. I was so scared and amazed that I was scared because you really never see anything bad happen. The ending left me not knowing whether I liked it or not, but I absolutely loved the originality of it. A definite movie to see -- only once.

Summary: It was the scariest movie I've ever seen!
Review: This was the scariest movie I've ever seen. It will really make you think about going camping for quite a while! It also makes you think about witches and witch craft.

Summary: scariest movie I have ever seen
Review: This film is not for the unimaginative; most of the frightening things happen off camera and you are forced to use your own imagination. That said I have never been scared like this by a movie before, not even the 6th sense. Watch it and see for yourself

gotta see it at night.

Summary: Suspenseful, but not too scary...
Review: I thought that the movie was semi-decent. The first time I saw it, I was scared. I went a second time to analyze it properly, and I concluded that it was only worth 3 stars. I felt like I was watching an extra-long episode of "The Real World" on MTV. There were only two scary parts in the whole film, and only one if you didn't pay attention to the interviews at the beginning of the film...

Summary: It scared the hell out of me!
Review: When I heard about the Blair Witch Project I thought that it was just another Hollywood Witch flick. However, when I visited the web site and viewed the Curse of the Blair Witch on the Sci-Fi channel I was sucked into believing it was all true. Sitting in the theatre all alone, I found myself shaking, my heart racing, and tearing up as I shared the terror of Heather, Mike, and Josh. Having an active imagination wasnt helping me any! I couldnt sleep for about 2 weeks! Every night I went to bed I thought I was hearing things, or a scene from the movie would replay in my mind and all I could do was lay there scared! Hats off to Daniel and Eduardo for their brilliant marketing strategy, and to Heather, Mike and Josh for making the whole thing seem so incredibly real! Great movie!

Summary: Totally over-hyped
Review: I have to agree with the person who felt one star was too many. When I first heard about "The Blair Witch Project", I was very excited. I thought it would be truly scary. Then it seems all consumers were slammed with it. From the Sci-Fi "documentary" to endless articles to the web page, it was impossible not to know the whole premise was a marketing ploy. The movie, although creepy at times, simply was not that scary. After seeing "The Exorcist", I had trouble sleeping for a week; after seeing "Blair Witch" I fell asleep on the way home.
