Summary: A Tough Act To Follow, But The Movie Did The Book Justice
Review: While not as frightening, suspenseful or excellent as the book; 'Stephen King's It' has done a good job in presenting the story on film. The cast is good, especially Pennywise and the children stars, and the script was well written. Although an excellent film on its own, compared to the book, it doesn't go into half as much detail and doesn't have the same scary or catastrophic quality. Even saying this, I do not beleive that anyone could have presented the story in the same way as Stephen King and this is one of the most enjoyable adaptions I have seen of one of his books in many years.

Summary: A real rollercoaster - gripping to the very end
Review: When I read Stephen King's bestseller 'It' I thought it was his finest work, and this film certainly does it justice. The story of an evil intelligence which lives under the town of Derry and which emerges to claim victims every so many years is gripping. The scenes from the past makes you feel you really know the central cast - the is a film about people as much as horror, and the characters are all strong and well-thought-out. Pennywise is both hilarious and sinister, the real dark side of both the circus and childhood pranks. Not only one of the best King adaptations, but quite possibly one of the best horror films ever made.

Review: Well if you are afraid of clowns then dont watch this... I hate clowns and it made me cry when i was like, 8... Hell, I'd still probably cry if i saw it now.... If theres anything as scary as it, its ronald mcdonald...

The films got a good storyline like, but if it wasnt for the clown I'd give it 5 stars...

Summary: "Scary...true to the subject of evil clowns!"
Review: I was very alert when watching this movie, so I am not just saying it is excellent because I was tired or whatever. O.K.?
"It" was a very good horror film that made me want to bury my own face in a nearby pillow. It is very true to the subject, like I said in my title, of evil clowns. Now, you may think that this will get your mind off the thought that every clown is evil, but it won't! It charges that thought even more, which is all importants in a horror film.
When I found out that "It" was a made-for-tv movie, I thought it was gonna die. It was so much like a theatrical release proving that this is all importants in a film.
As I conclude my review, I'd like to say that this movie is violent at times (the Sewer scene) and scary for children (Pennywise the Clown's teeth and himself alone). Also, do not wreck the chances of your child loving the circus by sending the message that clowns are bad.
Anyway, this is an excellent made-for-tv movie. Five golden stars!

Summary: Needs a DVD edition...
Review: This is the only made-for-television movie that I avidly watch. It's a truly frightening film experience complete with a good story, good acting, an eerie musical score and stylish direction by Tommy Lee Wallace (who directed the dreadful Halloween 3 *shudder). Maybe some of the effects are a little crass, like when Pennywise turned into a dog, but that doesn't detract from the pleasure you'll get by watching tbe film. Sure, it's over three hours long, but you won't even want to think about hitting that stop button on your remote.

Now, I understand Warner is a very busy company trying to push out as many DVDs as they possibly can, and they've done pretty impressive with quantity (but overall, not quality). So I doubt very much that a TV movie on DVD is their next big step in raking in dough. But I would just really love to know if this film has any possible future on the DVD format. I don't want much, and don't expect much. Just a dual-layed disc with a few TV spots and production notes.

If you haven't seen "It," you're really missing out. This is Tim Curry's best role ever.

Summary: OK Movie... Even Better Book
Review: Stephen King's IT is a so-called horror movie about an unknown evil that takes the form of a terrible clown named Pennywise and murders children. A group of neighborhood kids battle the evil and send him back to hell... or so they think. The clown shows up again some 30 years later and begins his terror again. So the group who defeated IT before returns to kill it once and for all. I've seen this movie twice and it hasn't scared me at all. Why? Maybe because it's long and dragged out. Only a few good scenes exist but they are hardley scary. The good thing about this movie was Tim Curry's performance as Pennywise. The movie could have been better and scarier. The ending was terrible and I was dissapointed with it. This movie fails to deliver the necessary elements for a horror film. The book on the other hand is more interesting. Buy this movie if you feel like having a laugh at Pennywise or if you're actually afraid of clowns. If you're looking for a good horror film, Stephen King's IT won't be the one.

Summary: Book Reader Outraged
Review: I saw this movie as an eight year old many years ago and I was terrified for too long too remember. Now, years later, I just finishing reading the book, (The book was amazing, I highly recommend it!) and decided to see the movie afterwards. I was horrified-but not in the way I was expecting!

The movie was boring with bad special effects and no regard for what actually happened in the book. I could list obvious errors for each scene, not just things which a Made-for-TV-movie couldn't include, but cases where things go against what is stated in the novel. The characters (mainly Richie, who was always my favorite) do not act the correct way. Henry and his gang are greatly pacified as well as Bev's father and even It. It, the creature, suddenly has new rules for what it can do and what can hurt it. The movie was a horrible disappointment with no knowledge of the novel Stephan King wonderfully wrote.

Summary: SCAAAAAAARY!!
Review: I saw "IT" for the first time yesterday and I still feel strange.
There is only one thing floating in my head, I want to see this movie again now! To see for the second time Pennywise saying "You all taste sooooooo much better when you're afraid!", this frightened me so much that I couldn't sleep at night and now I feel this need of seeing all the movie again but I rented it so I won't have this chance...too bad. But I recommand to everybody to read the book first, if you see the movie before reading the book, you will know the punch of the end(even if the end of the book is far much better, the monster is the same). This movie takes almost all the best parts of the book and add news too, the biggest difference is that Pennywise appears a lot more in the movie(and this is not bad at all, he's so scary when he shows his sharp teeth). I was also happy to see that there wasn't so much blood(I hate bloody movies). The only poor thing is the end but the rest is great(particulary the first part).
So if you're a Stephen King fan, rent or buy "IT" fast!
