Rating: Summary: Top 10 of 2003 Review: I expected this movie to be really stupid and only went to the theater to kill time. I was very surprised. I'm really impressed with the quality of horror movies that have been coming out this year. I'll definitely buy this when it comes out next month on DVD. The character development was very well done, you got to know who was who, before they were killed. I was very into it. Very entertaining.
Rating: Summary: Jeepers Weepers- Sequel is a Sleeper not a Creeper Review: When I first found out that their would be a Jeepers Creepers 2 I was so excited. I loved the first one. I thought Jeepers Creepers 2 would be one of them rare horror sequels that would actually be entertaining. But I was as wrong as I could be. The saying in the previews go, "Every 23rd spring, for 23 days, it gets to eat. Welcome to day 23." Well actually, it begins at day 22. The beginning is a attention grabber as it starts out as The Creeper pretending to be a scarecrow. A boy notices The Creeper. The monster then swoops the boy up into the air, leaving a older brother and his dad heart-broken. Because of this, the dad wants revenge. Then it's day 23 were The Creeper discovers a bus full of high-schoolers and teachers. That's when it becomes a yawner. He does the same thing to most of his victims and that is: takes them and fly's them to his home. We very rarely see any deaths. What makes the movie more worse is that it is about 1 hour and 45 minutes too long! The first one was only an hour and a half but I wanted so much more than that because there was more blood and gore, more deaths, and most of all The Creeper was much more scary! In Jeepers Creepers 2 we hardly know any of the characters because they start dropping dead before we even know their names. The second one doesn't even follow the traditions that it did in the first one. Like the song that showed that The Creeper was coming near. You actually hate the characters so much that you want them to die. Another big problem about the movie is that they spend way too much time in the bus. Even though this one wasn't much of a success in theaters, something tells me there might be another Jeepers Creepers in the making...for better or for worse.
Rating: Summary: Not very good, but okay Review: If you hated the first, you will hate this. Its that simple. When I first saw the original Jeepers Creepers, I thought it was okay, saw it a second time, talk about boring. Same with this film. This movie had it's moments though. Like, the very cool first scene, and the battle between the creeper and the teens and old man and his son at like the last 30 minutes of the movie. The "battle" was pretty cool, but after seeing it a second time, it's pretty darn boring. I will buy this when it comes to dvd, ONLY, and I mean ONLY because I have this huge horror dvd collection, and I have the first one anyways, so... get it when it comes out to see if you like it or not, it's worth a try anyways.?
Rating: Summary: Good Movie,Terrible Sequel. Review: I saw this movie the day after it came out.I had anticipated it for about a year and I finally was able to see it.Problem was it sucked. The story shows a child being kidnapped by The Creeper and dragged off into the sky.The father now really mad builds a machine to kill it.Now we go to a schoolbus filled with high school kids.Obviously a bunch of the kids, the staff first are all killed.I really liked this movi, but word of advice.Buy the first one.And then rent this one.
Rating: Summary: Junk Review: Honestly, I didn't like the first one when I saw it. I rented it and it seemed much better. I'll probably be stupid enough to rent this floater when it comes out. It would have much better if they would have shown the Creepers Lair again. There was a few distant radio conversations about finding bodies and the church, but that was about it. Showing the police finding ALL of those bodies stuck up on the ceiling would have been good, if nothing else, remind us of the Creeper killing spree. Maybe a few of the bodies could have been examined, etc. It was just one of those movies that could have obviously been made alot more interesting instead of spending half of the time on that bus. The opening scene was pretty cool though with the Creeper posing as a scarecrow.
Rating: Summary: What's wrong with you people? Review: This movie is a horrible horror movie. In fact this is perhaps one of the best comedies of the year. Nothing in this movie makes sense. A truck is flipped and breaks apart, then in the next scene it's perfect. None of the plot is reaveled, I still don't know what the entire movie is about. Furthermore, it seems to me when you make a sequal, it needs to be somewhat related to the previous movie. I give this one star because it can't get any lower. This movie was great in theater though, everyone was yelling at the screen because it was that bad. We were all laughing because of the lack of any rational thought given by writers. Please explain how two bus doors can be jammed by taking off one screw. RENT THIS IF YOU WANT TO LAUGH ALL NIGHT AT AN ATROCIOUS MOVIE!!!
Rating: Summary: Better than the first but still lacking. Review: A bus of teens returning from a championship game is about to make a deadly and unexpected stop in "Jeepers Creepers 2". The film takes places days after the events in the last film, and details the demonic title character as he enters the final day of his feeding frenzy. As was established in the first film, every 23rd spring for 23 days, a creature emerges to feed and naturally its food of choice is humans and it is very particular about what it eats. The scent of fear drives the creature, as it strives to induce fear in potential victims in order to determine its needs before selecting and consuming a victim. The creature has disabled the bus on a remote section of highway in an effort to graze off the inhabitants on its final night of feeding. It accomplishes this in several hit and run raids as it carries off victims only to return at a moment's notice keeping the inhabitants trapped. Mainly unknown actors comprise the cast, as Ray Wise is the only name of note. The cast does a decent job of conveying fear, and upping the hostility as they soon turn on each other over their various petty issues with one another. Sadly, they are not able to provide any tension, as I was expecting to see a bit of "10 Little Indians" where the audience has to guess who is going to be killed next. Instead the film unfolds in a fairly predictable manner, and offers few surprises. The tone of the film is different from the last film as it is largely set in a single locale instead of having the creature follow its prey down the highway and appear in different locales. The characters also do not stand around and watch as the creature attacks; they do react and at times attempt to fight the creature as well. While the film is better than the previous one, it is still largely devoid of any scares, and becomes repetitive after a while as one can only watch a band of teens preyed upon for so long before becoming bored. The lack of any chemistry amongst the cast as well as the lack of character development does not allow for the audience to care much for the fate of the cast thus much of the audience is lost. There is some potential in the series as the title character is an interesting villain, with the right cast and script; this could really have been something. I suspect that audiences have not seen the last of the Creeper and let's hope that the third time will be the charm as part two is a step forward from the first, just not enough to allow the film to take off. 2.5 stars out of 5 Gareth Von Kallenbach www.sknr.net
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the original, but it's okay. Review: I went into this movie with high expectations, but alas, it wasn't what I expected. Since the first one was so cleverly written and suspenseful, I figured this one would be the same. It had its moments, lemme tell you, but it just wasn't as good. Wait for the video.
Rating: Summary: Good But Not Great! Review: There were many things that I liked about the first movie in the Jeepers Creepers seris. There was something about it that made it oringal. It was scary. It was a little funny. It was overall a fun movie. But this movie feels like just an add on in the seris. Just something to make a little extra money. If you read my reviews, you'll see that I rated this the same as "Freddy vs Jason" because this, like Freddy, is entertaining, but it lacks a certain feel for a horror movie. Much like "28 Days Later...", that movie was more of a drama with a small bit of horror to appeal to young teenagers. This movie was all horror. My ideal horror film would be three quarters scary, and the other quarter as a personal story for the main character. All of the people that I though were main characters died somewhere in this. That's why I loved the first movie. There was only about five characters and the main two go through the personal storyline of being together and they face many challenges to try and survive. In this one all they did was curse and The Creeper killed them and blood was around. The movie had no story, there's no story. It starts with a black screen. We see the words "Every 23rd spring, for 23 days, it gets to eat," We then see an open field and then the words Day 22. A boy is being instructed to put up scarecrows. He then sees one that looks a little odd, because scarecrows don't move their heads. A few minutes later the boy is taken by a large black monster with a hat and wings. The boys father Farmer Taggart and brother Jack Jr. look into the sky where the boy was moments ago. Day 23... A school bus is driving down a road, holding football players and a few cheerleaders returning from a championshio outing, when all of a sudden one of the tires breaks out. The driver Betty goes out and finds a strange thing in the tire with a human tooth. They decide to continue to drive when another one of those things breaks another tire, this time it has the bottom of a belly. They don't know that it's The Creeper, trying to break down the bus, waiting for night to pick out his future victiums. When night comes and no help coming, The Creepers kills the Betty and the two coaches, leaving cheerleaders Minxie and Rhonda, and football players D, Scott, Izzy, Dante, Jake, and the equipment manenger Bucky, alone without adults. But then when The Creepers comes at night and picks out whom he wants to kill, the kids have to be on high alert before they become The Creepers late night snack. Meanwhile in a farm, Faggart and his son prepare to get revenge on The Creeper for taking his son from him. Like I said, writer/director Victor Salvo, does not have the charm and fun of "Jeepers Creepers," in this installment as it did in the first. Although that downfall was present, the film wasn't a total loss and was still very entertaining if not a good movie for it's genre. I liked "Jeepers Creepers 2" but it is not a great movie that I would recommedend for the screen. Wait for the video. The same with "Freddy vs Jason" although the only reason that got three was because of the weak beginning. This movies the opposite, a nice strong first half hour and then drags a little towards the end. Then a nice twist at the ending. Another highlight is that you get to see The Creepers face multiple timie and there is better special effects, but I like a great storyline more then great special effects. Jeepers Creepers 2 rates 3 stars out of 5. ENJOY! Rated R for Horror Violence and Language. Note:If the last movie was 23 years ago from this movie, how come everything looks exactly the same?
Rating: Summary: It's Surprisingly Well Done Review: I've never watched the first sequel...and many people said that it was bad. Then, just to spent part of my leisure Saturday night, i've watched Jeepers Creepers II, and it was surprisingly good. Well OK...so the plot is shallow...but it's not exactly cheesy. Because the point is just plain and simple...something aftering you...you don't know what, but it's very dangerous and powerful. That's it...the rest, please sit down and enjoy the ride. And it's a helluva ride indeed. I think Salva has successfully created many tense element...good directing. The film was open with not so much of a score, just the view of a corn field, and the movie start...A very quiet opening. And then the 'creature' came....with quite a surprise (i'm not going to spoil this). The point is, again, just sit down and enjoy the ride. It's just about people trying to survive something that is incomprehensible....i think the puzzle that surround the origin of the creature is one of the interesting element. It was very well made. Good work for Salva
