Rating: 4 stars
Summary: One of the great horror films ever.
Review: I remeber the first time I saw "the Exorcist". Boy did it scare me. This movie explores the darker side of what we are taught in church. It opened the door for many immitators. This is surely one of the most horrifying movies ever.

Summary: HORROR AT ITS ALL TIME BEST. A CLASSIC.
Review: "The Exorcist" which was nominated for 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture, and Best Actress, came home with 2 Academy Awards for Best Screenplay and Best Sound. This is the ALL time king of horror movies, with a great script, structure and directing. Despite the jokes this movie has gotten over the years for Split Pea soup, and Linda Blair, "The Exorcist" sits by itself as a Horror Classic and the only movie of its genre to be nominated for Best Picture or receive as many as 11 nominations. The DVD 25th anniversary brings the movie a little bit closer to over the edge, with cut scenes of Linda Blair (Regan) walking backwards like a spider down the staircase...The scene is chilling to say the least, and why they cut it out of the movie I will never know. The special effects were outstanding for its time and still holds up today as the greatest Horror movie of all time with outstanding performances by Ellen Burstyn, Jason Miller and Max Von Sydow....but remember leave the lights on and do not watch this one alone.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: You'll want to sleep with the lights on for a week.
Review: I saw this on TV. It was scary (especially when the head would spin around)Boring at first but worth the 1/2 hour wait.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I'll never watch it again .
Review: I saw The Exorcist the year it was released. I was so terrified after watching it I could never watch it again. Whenever they have specials on about it and show parts of the movie, I have to cover my eyes & ears. I'd be spooked for months if I didn't. ( Even 26 years later) That means it was a great movie and did it's job... scarying people. I believe that it could happen in real life & that's the scary part. If you love to be scared, this will do it. Keep in the back of your mind that this sort of thing HAS happened to people before. Enjoy the movie ! I also want to add that Linda Blair did an excellent job and no one could top her performance.

Summary: AN EXERCISE IN TERROR
Review: I have loved horror movies my entire life and have seen everything worth seeing and quite a number of dogs that deserved the garbage can. None of these films (The Omen, Halloween or Amityville Horror included) scared me beyond the moment. "The Exorcist" however, is the exception to the rule. I saw it for the first time when I was twelve and I thought I would die from terror. I was literately trembling. To this day, I cannot watch this film alone and even then, I find myself sweating and positively stricken with horror. This films images are so intense and horrifying that they physically shake the viewer. I am neither squeemish nor easily shocked, (I have seen some gruesome pictures in my day, believe you me) but this film inspired feelings in me I never thought possible. Truly a masterpiece of terror, but it still scares me too much to watch it casually. I'm really curious about the behind the scene documentary that's included in the 25th Anniversary issue, but just the thought of experiencing this film again makes my stomach queasy with fear.

Summary: Scariest movie I've ever seen!
Review: This movie is one of the best horror movies I've seen. I love a movie that scares you. The actors performed a splended job.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: In a word: frightening
Review: "The Exorcist" is a film certainly not for the faint of heart. The film is incredibly disturbing and will keep you up at night for one reason or another. It scared me witless the first time I saw it. Note: It has a slow start but continue watching at your own risk.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Genuinely disturbing
Review: I've seen "The Exorcist" at least 50 times, and it disturbs me in different ways as I get older. When I was young, it was the effects and the shocks. But now it is the more subtle things - that incredibly sinister prologue for one.

The most upsetting thing for me now, having lost my mother to Alzheimer's disease, is the subplot about FrKarras' guilt over his mother. When the demon says "You killed your mother, you left her to die", I had to stop watching for a while. That is truly great film making - it gets you right where you live.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Totally Possessed by 'The Exorcist'!
Review: The film, I have to admit, has been the most disturbing as well as haunting movie I ever saw in my life. Still it leaves profound impact on my mind whenever thinking of any episodes of the movie. Linda deserved the Golden Globe Award she won for this masterpiece, to whom I have to thank for having scared the hell out of me for these years, by the way.
Don't miss any chance to watch this horror classic (Golden Globe Winners for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress...) But afterwards, beware of your bed and see if it shakes as you turn off your lamp.
THE EXORCIST is terrific!
