Summary: TRULY GREAT FILMMAKING
Review: Unbelievble story telling, great film-making.... Haley Joel-Osmond is a terrific young actor - - one I haven't seen for a long time. This is one terrific movie; superb photography, a truly great comeback role for Bruce Willis. This child actor will be one of the greatest actors of the next few generations. Superbly produced!

Summary: fun, but inconsistent movie
Review: By now most people know whether they will see the movie or not, so I would like to comment only on the DVD features and whether you should rent or buy.1. The extra scenes are not very interesting. The director does give background introductions to each, which is nice. But nevertheless not worth buying the DVD for. 2. The director is pretentious as heck. After awhile he becomes too much to tolerate. This is a problem because... 3. The most interesting extra feature is called "rules and clues" where the filmmakers tell us how clever they are and talk about the clues they left and the rules they followed, so that the film will be consistent. This feature is riddled with mistakes and back-slapping. In one case, the filmmakers draw the viewrs attention to a feature of the movie that is crucial to the story. In doing so, they make you realise that the story is inconsistent. This ruined the movie for me. If you have seen it, you know what I am talking about (clue: cold air). Anyway, rent this one. don't buy it unless you are in love with m. night. He sure loves himself.

Summary: boooorrrrrrring!
Review: Jeez man, I can't tell, was I supposed to feel uncomfortable during this movie or was it just because I was so bored? The story is stupid, Bruce Willis is miscast and the supporting actors as well as the sub-plots were nonexistant. I cannot believe this movie was held in such high regard by the Academy. The 2 stars I give this movie is only because of that kid, playing Cole. He is an acting prodigy and completely stole the show, especially when considering that the script was so weak.

Summary: MUY BUENO/VERY GOOD
Review: I wanted this dvd for some time now, and now that the dvd is released, I'm happy. When I turned it on, I was intriqued at the previews. This is the first dvd where I've ever seen previews in it. But,preview aside, I think this dvd is definitly worth being on top of anyone's list. The action may not be at the top, but not all great movies have action in them. Like Saving Private Ryan. Just Kidding. But still, this movie is about a little boy named Cole who has the power to see the dead and communicate with them. A psychiatrist(Bruce Willis) tries to help him with his power, at first not believing him but then he comes to terms with his doubts and realizes this boy is special. This movie sets the stage for a great ending that hits you like a Yankees homerun caught on your nose. The surprise you'll have to see for yourself, but I do STRONGLY recommend this dvd to anyone who wants a sure to be must have for all families for all times to come. This dvd is acceptable for ages above 8 in my opinion because there may be some scenes in which they may get scared, and there is a little(VERY LITTLE) blood in it. But for parents, you will not get embarresed watching this dvd with your children.

Summary: Wonderfully acted, supremely spooky
Review: My expectations weren't very high when I saw this one in the theater so I was really caught off-guard by how good it actually is. I mean, how long has it been since anyone made a ghost story film that was worth anything? What I really enjoyed most about THE SIXTH SENSE is how low-key it is. This is one movie that takes it's time and doesn't feel the need to get in your face every five minutes. One might even call it old-fashioned in that respect. In a ghost story, atmosphere is all-important and THE SIXTH SENSE has creepy atmosphere to spare -- No gore, no screaming, naked teenagers, no slime-dripping monsters or masked slashers. It depends on subtle chills instead of sledgehammer sensory assault. I can't wait to see Shyamalan's next movie (whatever it's about). As well, the acting is really excellent across the board. By now everyone has heard about what a great job Haley Joel Osment does but it bears repeating: This kid gives a terrific performance. Bruce Willis is his usual dependable self (I don't know why he seems to get dumped on so much -- he's never been less than good even in his worst movies) and provides the perfect foil for Osment. Over all, one of the best films of 1999. If you like this one, see also STIR OF ECHOES, another excellent ghost story. It's more overtly a horror film but no less effective.

Review: This movie was good from starting to end.(The end is the best.) The actind done by every actor in the movie is great. But there is some chessy parts.

Summary: Haunting and very original.
Review: The Sixth Sense is a rare Hollywood gem that came along in a year full of flop movies such as The Haunting and The Blair Witch Project (not that there is anything wrong with those films; I'm speaking in terms of popularity). Packing in big crowds and delivering a thrilling a suspenseful joyride of excitement and talent, director Shyamalan's film is one that will not soon be forgotten. The story centers on a child psychologist (Willis) and his mission to help a small child (Osment) that is plagued by ghostly apparitions. Only they arent' apparitions; they are reality. I shall stop here, for going on will ruin the rest of this masterpiece. The ending is, by far, Hollywood's most brilliantly conceived ending to date, and the suspense leading up to it is well worth the wait. The performances between Willis and Osment are astounding, and their chemistry as patient-doctor is well-received by viewers. The chemistry between Toni Collette and Osment as mother-son was perceived brilliantly by the director, who also wrote the screenplay. Cinematography and camera moves each have significant accentuation that set them apart from one another. Each question or mystery solved is yet another brought up, and the intensity of each moment is evident. An original work of art, comparable to The Silence of the Lambs.

Review: A graduate student, I seldom sitted in a theater to see a movie, but I'm glad I did for Sixth Sense. You will be scared, but comfortably. The ending was great!

Summary: Problems with the Sixth Sense DVD
Review: There's been a ton of reviews of the movie here already, so I am taking this chance to comment specifically on the DVD. I couldn't wait to get this DVD home, and for the most part I am pleased, except for some of the special features. Now, I am convinced that these are some of most interesting special features I've seen on a DVD so far... but some of them just don't work. Three out of the four "Deleted Scenes" don't even play, nor does the "Storyboard to Film Comparison" or "Reaching the audience" features. The movie itself plays perfectly, though, at least in my Apex DVD player

Summary: Warning: Forced Trailers
Review: DVD was released March 28. I have to warn you that Disney / Beuna Vista has done it again. Just like the regular release of Tarzan, The Sixth Sense forces you to watch about 10 minutes of trailers before getting to the menu / movie. What a pain. You can chapter skip or fast forward, but you can not access the menu or stop. There are about 5 trailers including Mission to Mars and Son of Sam. I wish Disney / Beuna Vista would get a clue and not defeat the direct access benefit of DVD's
