Summary: Should Only Be View By Those Without A Head!
Review: This film lived up to its name; Sleepy and Hollow. This is a movie for teenagers with bad taste. It's hard to believe anybody takes this film seriously. Yes, visually it was pleasing but the characters were one-dimensional and hyperbolic with few exceptions. The suspense was poorly paced.

Yes, the cinematography and costumes were very nice but hardly a reason to endure the bordem.

Summary: This was the coolest movie!
Review: When my dad asked us to go see Sleepy Hollow in November, I had mixed feelings. Now I had realy wanted to see the movie, i had been watching the trailer like every day but I have this thing about horror movies in theaters. The sound is too loud so like if someone is going to die, its like BOOM! And I jump out of my seat. But my dad took me along and I Loved it. It wasn't very scary, but very suspensful. This will be added to my DVD collection the day it comes out. Watch it! You will like it!

Summary: Visually dazzling but unfortunately not very scary
Review: The reason I give Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" a relatively high four-star-rating is that it is simply one of the best looking films of the decade, but as many other films by director Tim Burton, "Sleepy Hollow" suffers from its lack of strong characters.

The main plot of this film about a headless hessian (That's where I am from, by the way) horseman who runs amok in a small village is really nice. Unfortunately, the screenplay does not provide more intruiging characters. Instead it offers a conspiracy among the inhabitants of the village which constable Johnny Depp has to unravel. This is sometimes funny, but very often confusing and scarcely captivating. The appearances of the horseman are the film's highlights. Everything else, including the tame love story of Depp and Christina Ricci left me relatively cold.

"Sleepy Hollow" shows us once again and more overwhelmingly than ever, that telling a coherent story, which is transporting from the beginning to the end, is not Tim Burton's strength. As a creator of strong imagery, he is unsurpassed. It's really a pity that this is not enough to make an unqualified classic.

Summary: BEST MOVIE EVER!
Review: I thought this movie was mildly horrifying... very appealing... The actors played their roles to the max... ('cept for Casper!) and the backgrounds were great... It had mystery, horror, drama, and comedy... I think that this was the best movie I'd ever seen... There was the basic Coward and Hero (DEPP) The leading lady with a mystery (RICCI) The Brute (VAN DIEN) and a good plot (WASHINGTON). All thanks to Tim Burton, this movie was very cool. Therefore, I rate it 5 stars!

Summary: Tim Burton at his best
Review: I always was a big Tim Burton-fan, and Sleepy Hollow met all my expectations - and more. Partly a who-dunnit, partly a horror movie, partly even a love story, but to me just as much a comedy, because it always keeps its self-irony - the hero is not quite a hero, the villain maybe not quite a real villain. As usual for Tim Burton movies, it comes complete with supreme cinematography, unique mood and a nice soundtrack. All in all, the best film I have seen this season, and the one I can least wait to own.

Summary: Excellent, excellent movie !
Review: Viewinng this star-studded (quasi horror but more of an) action/adventure flick is an immensely entertaining joyride! Practically all actors and actresses involved played their respective parts perfectly, almost as if they were born for these roles. Which is indeed very surprising - who would've thought that Depp, for instance, could portray a convincing (and hilarious!) Ichabod Crane?

A lot has been said about the plot / atmosphere of this film so I will steer clear of these. What I wanted to comment on, however, was the well-choreographed fight scenes, using two blades instead of one. As an amateur "arnis" / stickfighting afficionado, I found these particular scenes truly fun to watch, and I believe that they're a fine testament to the growing popularity and "high screen impact" of this particular martial art.

Again the excellent performances by all the cast (not only Depp and Ricci but also the support roles such as Brom Van Brunt played by Starship Trooper's "Johnny Rico" Casper Van Dien, and the actor whose name currently escapes me but who played the role of Major Duncan Heyward in Michael Mann's Last of the Mohicans). Kudos likewise goes to the headless Hessian Horseman himself, Christopher Walken, who proved that great actors need not be given speaking lines to exhibit their remarkable talents.

This is a no-brainer - BUY THIS DVD! I know I will, as soon as it comes out. I'm sure it will make a fine and "rewatchable" addition to anyone's collection.

Summary: A SENSATIONAL FRIGHTFEST
Review: SLEEPY HOLLOW is an incredible achievement. It succeeds on every level: script; acting; direction; fx; and, to me, most importantly, MOOD! Tim Burton has always had fantastic moods in all of his films. The forest scenes make you feel like a child again when you were scared of what "lurked" out THERE! The script builds and fleshes out the classic Irving fable with a detailed depiction ofthe creation of the headless horseman. Johnny Depp gives a fine restrained and subtle performance. (He's always so dependable for good acting.) Christopher Walken is a masterstroke in casting as the headless one. One of my favorites, Jeffrey Jones, again contributes a fine job. Once more Icannot give enough credit to the set design and FEEL of this film. Watch this with the lights out!

Summary: GREAT GREAT MOVIE!
Review: This movie is ausome. It fits every catorgory. It is scary at times. One reason because of the darkness and mist threwout the movie. This was also a thriller. Like when people are running from the horsemen. This movie also had a few laughs in it. One thing that really surprised me is there was not one curse word in the movie. The only reason it is R is becaus of all the gore. Overall i thought it was one of the best movies i have ever seen, a great mix. I am telling you, SEE THIS MOVIE!

Summary: Burton at his best . . .
Review: This movie was visually immaculate. The scenery and actors blended perfectly that you could ignore Ricci's less than average performance. The story was well depicted and Depp did a good job breathing life into a rather two dimensional character (from the book). Would have loved to have seen more of Walken/The horseman, but got just enough to want more.
