Summary: Horrible, Horrible Movie
Review: For many, many years I heard nothing but great reviews about this movie. I heard it was one of the scariest movies of all times. This excited me because I am a huge fan of older horror films so I bought the tape. What a disappointment. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Absolutly terrible. I found it to be more of a comedy than anything else. It's just plain stupid and quite boring. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this movie.

Summary: Classic Revenge
Review: This is a classic. To make the premise simple, 2 girls gets abducted by a small group of criminal types. They rape and murder them, in woods near the one girl's house. The killers end up spending the night in the girls house and the parents discover what has happened. They take their revenge.
If you enjoy these type of revenge tales, like I Spit on Your Grave, Ms. 45, etc, then you can't go wrong with this one. Probably the best brutality is when the mother of the girl takes one guy outside and pleasures him orally, biting down hard and shaking her head back and forth, kinda like a dog playing tug of war with a towel. That's gotta hurt.

Review: well finally, as people have often said concerning this title...this dvd promises a 94 min. cut!!!i don't have to tell those that have already seen this classic how good it is, and now i guess it gets better!!! this film is flawless in its execution of pronounced sheer terror,rivaled only by the great "texas chainsaw massacre (1974)".it really dosen't get any better than this...made in a time when sex and violence were only seen in the back alleys of big cities in porn shops..last house really delivers the shocks,even by todays standards...the part of "krug stillo" played by david hess is one of the best antagonists to grace the silver screen(along with "frank booth" dennis hopper from the film blue velvet)..."last house on the left" has already secured itself in cult horror film status....and i believe it is one of the best in the modern era of the genre...

Summary: This is real horror!!!
Review: This film is a harsh film that deals with subjects that all of us find offensive. It's scary and disturbing, that is what horror is suppose to be. It's suppose to make you feel uncomfortable, and make you keep your nightlight on. This is real horror! Scream, I know what you did last summer, Night of the living Dead, Valentine, Jeepers Creepers, and 13 Ghosts are not horror movies. Those movies were made for kids. I heard people trying to say "oh this ain't scary" then they try to convince themselves of that by pointing out every little flaw and mistake, for this low-budget film. I guess it makes them feel smart. These people, also thought that Ernest scared stupid was frightening. Do yourself a favor and don't listen to bad reviewers, they just want you to think they are tough, they aren't, they think they have something to prove. This story is harshly realistic, and happens to people. Now come on Hollywood, when will you get it through your head, that your new "horror movies" aren't scary. They have a few jump out at you surprises, and people call it scary. The people that don't like this, probably didn't make it all the way through because in their reviews they try to tell what went on the film, it's funny how it seems they got all of that from the back of the box. Now please actually watch the movie before you review it. For fans of this film, don't worry horror moves in cycles. This year it is out, but soon it'll be in again. Keep waiting.

Summary: Unique Movie!
Review: This movie was proven to be one of a kind. It was the debut movie of Wes Craven.Two teenage girls,going to a concert,are kidnapped by four vicious criminals. They are raped and eventually by these criminals.They eventually take refuge in a house which is occupied by the parents of the criminals victims.
When the parents figure out what the foursome have done they exact revenge.The mother's method that she uses on one of the thugs by the lake is classical. An intense film that will hold your attention.You will not forget it.

Review: This film is gross. It's revolting. It's crude. It's one of the coolest flicks I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. Two lil girls go out to a concert and end up getting kidnapped by a gang of escaped convicts who take them into the woods and have a little over-the-top fun with them, taunting them, humiliating them, violating them, and finally killing them. It's too bad the parents find out about it, because they soon plot revenge. MGM finally will be releasing the most complete version of LHOTL on earth. ...

Summary: Good Movie, But not this version!!
Review: Alright, this movie is completely disgusting and disturbing. But it's just got so much energy and power. It teaches you how horrible some people can really be but it is a great movie. Now, lets talk about this cheap, piece of junk version that MGM released. Mostly everyone has heard of Vestron's 82 minute version. Well, this MGM one is even more cut then taht one! Sure it's 82 minutes, but it's missing a few seconds that the Vestron version had. Also, the picture seems more zoomed in so you loose some information from some scenes. But again, THERE IS SOME EXCELLENT NEWS!!!! MGM IS RELEASING A REAL UNCUT VERSION ON DVD ON AUGUST 27!!! It's very uncut and Wes Craven has confirmed it. It's not the full 91 minutes though because when Orion, the company it was originally owned by, went bankrupt, some fottage was lost. But the DVD is more uncut then the R2 DVD. It's rumored to be around 88 minutes! And it has a commentary and featurettes. Plus outakes. Amazon also has it to preorder!! If you don't believe me, see for yourself!

Summary: unique or disturbing?
Review: the way wes craven made this movie maybe think... was this a unique or disturbing movie? the ideas and script of this movie is something ive never seen before. its unique because the concept of this movie is original but its disturbing the way the movie goes. two girls are on their way to a concert when they run into a escape convict and his dad and grandfather and the girlfriend. they get kidnapped and get taken into the woods where the humiliate, torture, rape and kill the two girls. the murderers end up staying in one of the girls parents house where the parents find out they murdered their daughter by a necklace they see on one of the guys. they take matter into their own hands when they find the body of their dead daughter. they kill the murderers an a most brutal murder. i would recomend this movie to anyone who likes unusual and disturbing killing movies but not to anyone with a weak stomach.

Summary: TERRIBLEY UNDERATED
Review: So many people put this film down, when rightfully, it is a cult classic. The acting from both the raped girls and Krug is brilliant, even though the rest struggle with their roles. The film has to be the scariest thing Wes Craven has ever done, simply because of it's taboo subject - rape. It sure has hell got me thinking and by the end of the film I wanted to kill the rapists myself. The plot is very believable and shouldn't be snubbed as much as it is.

Review: Warning this MGM release is the heavily censored 82mn R rated version & is also zoomed in,so your looseing even more picture information!Since plenty of other reviewers have commented on the disturbing aspect of the film + loveing it or hating it naturally. I'm gonna comment on the other over-looked aspect of the film...and that of a pitch black comedy.Theres the 'amaturish' acting,dialogue & so on. The upbeat folk music played througout a few scenes.You can't tell me you did'nt laugh out loud at the sheer outragousness of the very twistedly funny felatio sequence?Or the introduction to the villains via the news radio report with Krug popping alittle kids ballon with a cigar?Not to mention the two cops who have some very funny moments together,all woven into a outragously entertaining & brutal mix of slapstick comedy & disturbing torture & violence.The tone of the film is changing rapidly throughout the film...from comedy,to revolting horror & back again....& it makes for a wild ride for those with open minds & who understand that it is a low budget film...so don't expect a 'pristinely filmed,acted maintstream' film here.The film isn't for everyone....& it may start off carefree & humorous....but quickly turns serious with it's depiction of rape & torture & murder. That part of the film is the hardest to watch as it's so raw & unnerving & VERY sad what these girls go through & the haunting music that acompanies the scene adds to the bleakness of it all.If you feel revolted durring this portion of the film.....thats how your supposed to feel!...this is not a glorified 'hollywood' depiction of villians & murder...but a sad,realistic & shocking unpleasent veiw of how wrong violence really is. Even the parents revenge at the end isn't justified....because after-all they became just as bad as the villains. So no one really wins & leaves unchanged from this experiance...violence isn't pretty no matter what it's for.This film is and always will be a classic & all-time favorite of mine. I just wish i'd have the chance to see the fully uncensored version of the film.....but the footage may be lost for good....though theres been news that MGM has located a completely uncut print of the film & should be releasing a special edition dvd sometime soon!Maybe there's hope after all? We'll have to wait & see.
