Summary: GREAT, but....it wasn't funny
Review: i've never seen the other Evil Dead movies, but since it was able to fill in the background info seamlessly, this movie got a definite plus. also, the cool thing with the cybernetic hand, and the plot, and a whole bunch of cool ideas added to nearly nonstop, demon-slaughering battles and action make this an almost perfect film. Unfortunately, the dialogue is corny, and it flip-flops back and forth between dark, serious, and gruesome...to stupid, corny, ridiculous, and....weird. Make up your mind, movie!!! This dosen't seem to have a target audience. The humour is stuff you'd see in kiddie movies or cartoon shows. The dialogue sounds like something off of Power Rangers! Nobody wants that in a horror movie! (it was a horror movie?) Yeah, sure, other people just say ignore it. Why? The scenes are stupid! One minute I'm cheering Ash on as he slaughters demons, and the next minute, I'm cringing in agony at the lame humour and corny dialogue. If your going to make a comedy/horror film, MAKE IT FUNNY. MAKE IT SCARY. Don't throw a whole bunch of half baked garbage in there and say "okay, see if you can choke this down!"

so keep that in mind. I liked the plot, I liked the acting, I liked the action, I liked the ideas it brought up, and I liked the tributes to H.P. Lovecraft, but I hated the humour. If your someone like me, thrive on the action, but keep your mute or fast-forward button ready when things start getting stupid. One big spot to keep in mind is the graveyard scene. Just fast forward that scene. I almost turned it off when I saw that.

Summary: Groovy
Review: I saw this movie, after much prodding from friends, about a year and a half ago (on VHS)... I loved it. After I moved up to the DVD arena, this was one of my first purchases, and I've watched it several times since (and I've laughed to tears each time)... This is not a movie for everyone, it's humor is purely self-depricating, and very ironic. This is one of my all-time favorite comedies, and after having seen the first two in the series (Evil Dead 1 & 2), I can say this movie only gets funnier (there are lots of self-depricating references to the prequels). Also, if you're looking for good retorts and one-liners, this is your movie.

Summary: The ULTIMATE "B" Movie, The Best of the Evil Dead Saga!!
Review: Bruce Campbell is the epitome of the male persona. Face it, chicks dig him and guys want to be like him. This movie is better than Star Wars, and I have seen it more times than the whole Star Wars Saga all together! Quick wit, chisled looks, and the charm of a pit viper, Bruce Campbell is fearless system bucking know-it-all that everyone wants to be in their life. Hell, I hope there is an Evil Dead 4. God only knows what to expect. If you watch any movie, watch this one. This IS "THE ULTIMATE "B" MOVIE" with a bigger budget.

Summary: Great ammo in the Evil Dead Cannon
Review: I have seen this film over and over again it is utterly fantastic. I have seen both versions of the movie and I still think the USA ending is the best. Move over Arnie, Ash is a real hero with funny one-liners a '73 old mobile, a chainsaw

This Movie is King,

Hail to King Baby

Summary: The greatest horror-comedy movie yet and best of Evil Dead
Review: Army of Darkness is definitely a classic. It didn't fare very well at the box office, earning only a paltry 11.5 million dollars, but it's a part of the Evil Dead trilogy which led to very high tape sales and rentals. In my opinion, it is the best of the series because it's a standout in almost every way. The special effects in this movie are spectacular, the one liners from Bruce Campbell are laugh out loud funny, and the action is non-stop. It's a movie, unlike big budgeted films like Twister and Men in Black, that isn't forgotten easily.

Army of Darkness tends to get very corny, but then it's not a movie to be taken the least bit seriously. Just watch it to have fun. It is more of a comedy than horror. A note to parents and gore lovers: this film has barely any blood and probably should have received a PG-13 rating, so this film is safe for those ten years or older to view. As for fans of gore, check out something like Saving Private Ryan. Therefore, anybody who hates horror films and loves comedy should watch this film. You won't regret it.

Review: Bruce Campbell is thgreatest, especially as Ash. I've seen all Evil Dead movies repeatedly and they never wear out. I admit that the origianl, Evil Dead, was not the greatest, Ash was a chicken, but finally gets some guts. The best one is Evil Dead 2, it's a classic and must own. I mean, where else can you see someone beat themselves up with their hand which has become possesed by a demon. Army of Darkness kicks in it's own right as well. Clatu Veratu Nick...necktie...nickle...deffenitely an N word. =)
