Summary: A double dose of Arch Hall pain
Review: This stinkeroo features not only the incredibly whiny Arch Hall, Jr., but his real-life dad plagues us in this film too, playing Roxy's dad. EEGAH is very close in pain rating to the most classic MST of all time, Manos.

How Richard Kiel (Eegah) ever got another job in Hollywood with this film to his credit is beyond me. Apparently, the director or producers thought he wasn't quite caveman material because all of his grunts (he doesn't speak a single line in the WHOLE movie) are dubbed! And what's more, everyone else seems to be dubbed too--mysterious voices off camera are all over this movie, so "Watch out for snakes!" One of my favorite scenes has Tom (Arch Jr.) and his band playing at some ridiculous pool party, and although you might not realize it at first, the band is playing a terribly unspirited version of "Tequila." I laughed until I hurt for that part... You KNOW a movie is going to smell when the opening credits aren't even in focus. The movie is an utter mess, and since the other reviewers have gone over the plot so well, I'll just mention the neat features of the DVD itself.

As with other MST DVD releases, the flip side of the disc has the un-MiSTied version so that you may torture yourself and experience the full-on effects of 2 Arch Halls. You can also choose to watch the MiSTied version with the special cue feature--if you turn this option on, a small icon of Crow will appear on the screen when portions of the original film were edited out to make space for the MST jokes. At that point, you choose the icon and flip to the uncut version. It's a feature worth playing with because the missing footage will help explain some of the jokes, like the "Cabbage Patch Elvis" reference.

The movie is awful, no question about it -- but the DVD is really good. A great addition to your MST collection!

Summary: Oh, I thought you were Arch Hall, Junio......Aaaaaahhhhhh!
Review: Absolutely one of the best Rhino episodes out there. This probably has the most LPM (laughs per minute) of any of them (even more than "Mitchell"!). I don't know where Arch Hall, Jr. is today, but you have to feel sorry for him (Joel and the bots are merciless - but it's nothing less than what any of them deserved for being in this film!). If you're trying to introduce a friend to MST3K, then this is the one to start them off on.

Summary: If for some reason you WANT to watch a girl shave her father
Review: Hi. I've been a big MST3K fan since, oh, 91. Sadly, I only have about 45-50 episodes on tape, but would like more. Anyway...Eegah! This DVD is funny as hell, what with Vickie's annoying 'Wheee!' as they drive through the dunes in the 'evil spectre' of Arch Hall, Jr.'s dune buggy, which, as he mentions often, has tires filled with water. If you ever wondered where the obscure 'Watch out for snakes' riff came from, you're in luck. Get this dvd, guys n' gals. What else...Arch Hall Jr IS definetely worth smacking many many times in the film, but I wouldn't have the nerve 'cause all of that icky reddish skin he has would invaribly stain my hand. Um...It's a Joel episode, and us hard-corers love both of the guys up there in space, so that's cool. Get this, and then anytime you're bored and feel like laughing, you can make it Movie Sign time..but remember to 'turn down your lights..where applicable'.

Summary: Oops!
Review: Interesting note about this episode: if you look carefully at Joel during the theater sequences you'll notice that he is wearing eyeglasses. It only shows up when he turns to the side. I never noticed this when the show was on television or vhs tapes. This DVD shows it nicely. I'm pretty sure it's eyeglasses and not just the microphone headset he wears.

Summary: Even without Joel & the bots...
Review: ...this flick is a hoot! But our SOL captives have a good time all around with EEGAH! Lots of choice riffing: "While he's gone lets move his family around", "Why do they have an oven in the kitchen?", and "Attention you by the pool...please stop singing...oh, and watch out for snakes..." Also, the bots try to turn Joel into Arch Hall Jr. Hilarious stuff!

The DVD is quite good. Ignore any reviews mentioning the movie's bad picture and sound quality. This gives the whole thing character. The Mads and Joel & the bots all come out quite nicely. This is how it originally aired. The quality is excellent considering. I plan to buy the DVD versions even of the ones I already have on VHS. It's great to have these in a more perminent form. Rhino did a top notch job with EEGAH! I was surprised to find several extras inside...from a Joel & the bots sticker (which I treasure!) to the untouched version of the movie (without Joel & the Bots) great for your own MST3K party. Thanks Rhino! Keep them coming please!

A word of warning: Arch Jr, the "cabbage patch Elvis", sings. And the tunes will not leave your mind for quite a while. This is a bad thing. The beautiful name "Vickie" is forever scarred!

Summary: If You're A Fan Of MST3K,You MUST Buy This
Review: The release of MST3Ks on DVD is a major event, because you finally get to see the original,un-MSTied versions of the horrible films they skewer,so you can hone your own chops! There's also other episodes available on DVD,but this is my sentimental favorite, only because it features original SOL captain Joel Robinson(Joel Hodgeson).Mike Nelson is great, but Joel just has something about him that I like(maybe it's those beautiful,doe-like eyes--oh, I get weak in the knees every time I see---ohmigod,am I typing this?!?!)Uhhh,ahem--anyhoo,true MSTies everywhere should purchase this immediately,by any means necessary-kill if you must.

Summary: One of my favorites
Review: This is one of my favorite MST3K episodes. Glad to see it on DVD. Wish the guys as Best Brains could have done some extras, like comments on the film on the disc. Let's get my favorite Mitchell on DVD, ok guys! From a long time Mystie.

Summary: Arch Hall, Jr. is GOD!
Review: An extremely funny episode of my favorite show. Although I started watching MST3K when Mike was on, and therefore am more use to him, Joel is very good, and it doesn't matter once the movie starts. Even my three-year-old loves this movie (although we had to curtail his viewing after hearing him say,"Damn foreign cars!"). Highly recommended.

Summary: Cream Of The Crop
Review: I lent "Eegah" to a friend about a year ago and have decidied to re-purchase the film rather than ask for it back. An absolute must see for MST3K fans and a good place to start for people unfamiliar with the series. The wise cracks cover more territory than most episodes and yet you don't have to be as "media literate" as myself to get the jokes. Every time I see "Eegah" I find something else funny I hadn't noticed before. It's good fun, do yourself a favor and see it. It's worth buying twice!

Summary: Watch Out For Snakes!
Review: Like the title of this review says, watch out for snakes! Check this film out, you'll understand. Richard Kiel (Jaws from 007 fame) is Eegah, a caveman displaced to 1960s Palm Springs. He shanghais this girl and her dad, and they're treated to a history of his family through his grunting way of speaking. The girl's boyfriend (a fat-headed Elvis looking fool) cruises around in his dune buggy and whines while looking for them. Joel (Yes! The original outlandishly funny host of this show!) and his robot friends really go to town on this one. Eegah is certainly not a film to pass on. Joel and the 'Bots will keep you in stitches. Hopefully Rhino gets on the ball soon and releases more of the MST3K episodes on DVD.
