Summary: The best from the best
Review: Alfred Hitchcock is the greatest movie director of all time. Period. He directed so many masterpieces that is hard to choose his best movie, but i think "The Birds" deserves the title. This movie is unbelievable. It's a nightmare put into celluloid. For those who think that the special effects of the movie are dated, i like to say that this is not a "realistic" movie. This movie is about the unpredictability and the fragility of life. It's a fantastic display of images and sounds - Hitch uses the silence brilliantly here. A masterpiece.

Summary: Very scary!!
Review: I just saw the movie "The Birds" a couple weeks ago and it scared me so bad! Ive read part of the novel but the movie was far more scarier! I had to read the book and watch the movie for school (I am a freshman in high school)and do an essay on it. But it was ok. I could have seen better acting cause Melanie acted to perfect and personally I thought she was a terrible actress!

Summary: It was scarrrrrryyyyyy!!!!!
Review: I thought this movie was decent but it took too long to get to the good part. The first bird attack scene was okay, but it was the best when the birds attacked the entire town.I also thought the part when the birds attacked the kids in the school.I give this movie about 3 stars.

Summary: ANOTHER HITCHCOCK MASTERPIECE
Review: This is one of Hitchcock's finest -- I'm confused by those reviewers who claim to prefer an imagined black and white version; THE BIRDS was filmed in color and is meant to be viewed that way. They must have seen the movie broadcast years ago on a B&W television set. The special effects are pioneering and have aged beautifully; granted, they could be accomplished far more convincingly (and effortlessly) today, but people should train their eyes to assess a movie's special effects within the parameters of the technology of the era in which the movie was made.

Summary: Cheated
Review: I thought this was the black and white version but I was quite cheated, seeing this movie in color just killed my memories of seeing it in blacka and white many years ago.

Review: It is not in black and white, it makes the movie less enjoyable

Summary: A truly scary classic
Review: I don't know why this is labelled a 'thriller'--although almost every second is saturated with atmospheric tension, this movie has a truly chilling concept which is executed in a truly scary fashion. Every scene is forvever branded into my memory; the horror of the whole film is masterfully understated to give optimum effect. When I went outside after watching this, I found myself shrinking away from even the most harmless-looking seagull! I haven't read Daphne du Maurier's novel yet, and I understand it's very different from Hitchcock's film, but if it's half as good I'll be satisfied. This is my first venture into Hitchcock, and I'd certainly recommend it to anybody who enjoys a good, classily-shot piece of film (that strobe-lighted scene with Tippy Hendrin in the attic ... oh God!). Utterly fantastic.

Summary: Spellbinding
Review: Alferd Hitchcock one of the most notorious directers ever. The birds is Hitchcock at his best!

Summary: Ok, BuT nOt GrEaT!
Review: I'm a high school freshman, and we just read "The Birds" I have to say when I say the movie, I was disapointed. The special effects were kinda weak, and I think the book was bunches better.
