Summary: Amazing Set, great Movies, Reasonable Price
Review: I personally love all 3 of these movies especially parts 2 & 3 which have a great mix of gore and comedy.
The original Sleepaway camp is great as well but is takes a more serious approach at the 80's style camp/stalker/slasher horror.

Who ever said the ending is predictable is crazy, I can't see how you could ever predict an ending like that. I will personally never forget it.

My only complaint is that this version is missing a DVD. The version I got comes with a 4th DVD with the never finished Sleepaway camp 4: The Survivor and the trailer.

These movies are in no way Oscar material, but great movies to sit back with a beer an have fun.

5 Stars all the way, you can't go wrong with this one.

Summary: a GREAT price for all 3 films! Only 1 of which is good...
Review: If you want to get all 3 films and a bonus dvd on making SC4, I recommend this because it'll save you lots of dough. I will briefly review all 3 films below

Sleepaway Camp: A GREAT slasher film, this one starts it all (it should've ended it all too) with a young girl named Angela who goes to a camp for the summer along with her cousin. She is painfully shy and everyone who messes w/ her or her cousin ends up dying in some creative way. Although it is never evident who REALLY is the killer in this one, you won't truly find out until the end and I must say the last scene in this film will make your jaw drop, it is just so unexpected and extreme! A great 80's slasher that may rip off Jason, but involves characters that can actually act and have personalities, ones you hate, ones you like. The dvd offers little extras but it's still ok, the movie makes up for it.
Sleepaway Camp 2; Unhappy Campers: Now this one's just silly. The film introduces The cute Pamela Springsteen as Angela from the first film who returns to become a counsler of a camp years later. This didn't even seem like a sequal but more of a spoof on the first film, which highly disappointed me. The music is silly, and the characters can't act and are only there to get chopped up by Angela, and the movie as a whole doesnt take itself seriously as the original did. The only good thing about this one is the very attractive female cast, including Renee Estevez (Charlie and Emelio's sister) as one of the campers, there's also some good nudity and a pretty dirty sex scene.
Sleepaway Camp 3; Teenage Wasteland: This is worse then the 2nd. The even cuter Pamela Springsteen again returns in this one as Angela who joins a camp of rich and poor kids set up by a couple of old people. This one takes itself more seriously then the 2nd but isn't as good, or shall I just say, it's worse. It still has cheesy actors, a predictable bland story, and bad special effects. What I also hated was the fact that the one hot slutty camp girl in it was killed off FIRST! Sure she got naked w/ some old guy (pretty unlikely) but it didn't even show anything past that, she was gorgeous, and it's a crying shame. The dvd does have a few features including a deleted scenes feature where it shows each death in the film but with the extra gore put in, it's like "why didn't they just leave that in the movie in the first place??" There really isn't anything redeeming in this movie except that in this one Angela has some pretty creative ways of killing off the characters.

If you've never seen this films before, I would only recommend buying the first film, it's the only one worth owning and the only one worth your money, the other 2 don't even belong in the $10 section of the store, they should be given out for free, but even then it's not worth it.

Summary: Survival Kit
Review: It's about time and Anchor Bay gives us the opportunity to own all 3 Sleepaway Camp films, and instead of buying all 3 seperately, fans are offered this Survival Kit boxed set. You'll get the original film starring Felissa Rose and the late 80's sequels starring the outstanding yet underrated Pamela Springsteen. With the sequels including extras (especially part 3) that will include deleted scenes and commentaries, this will be a perfect treat for the upcoming Halloween season....However, no matter where you purchase this Survival Kit, I'm sure it'll be a welcome addition in DVD collections for the Sleepaway Camp fans. Enjoy...and happy camping!!

Summary: Sleepaway Camp box set rocks!
Review: Lets cut to the chase, the first Sleepaway Camp movie was the best and will always be the best. Thats not to say the other movies are bad, they just aren't good. You see, the first movie was such a thrill ride! Good acting, scary moments, nice gore. It pretty much had EVETYTHING going for it. A classic movie. Part 1 is my favorite. Sleepaway Camp II was an alright flick. Kind of an 80's rip-off movie that dosn't really have any direction. Part 2 isn't a bad movie, it does have some good moments. Some nice death scenes. It also expands on the plot in the original movies, which is a plus. The only problem with part 2 is that the director didn't seem to know when to call it quits. The movie drags on when it dosn't need to. Over all, part 2 is OK at best. Now, part 3 is just plain BAD. Some of the death scenes are ok but over all the movie is just pointless, short and has terrible acting. Not to mention in the origianl version they cut out alot of the gory death scenes. The plus for Sleepaway Camp III is how they put back all the bloody death scenes for the DVD. Thats the only good thing about part 3 really. The death scenes. As far as the box set goes, its the best one I've seen so far. They put all three movies into one set and also throw in the unfinished (thankfully) forth movie that was going to come out shortly after the third movie. Although the forth movie looks like it would have been much more worse than the last two movies, its a plus to have in the box set for fans. I love the first movie SO much that I don't even consider the sequals as actual SEQUALS. More like additions or idea's rather than sequals. If your interested in learning about the Sleepaway Camp series this box set is a perfect place to start.

Summary: Finally, what all slasher fans have been waiting for!
Review: Many of us die-hard slasher fans have been waiting very patiently for this set! The Sleepaway Camp series is notorious for its unforgiving cruelty and off-kilter humor, and for good reason. This series is essentially what the other famous series of the time wanted desperately to be. It knows it's bad, and it takes a slap on the hand proudly. Unlike many other slashers, All of the teens who bite it deserve whatever they get, and the surviving heroine always indeed deserves to survive. Angela can and will always be viewed as a sadistic & endearing femme fatale anti-hero. I love these movies and gladly accept them into my collection with a sigh of relief. Finally, the wait is over!

Summary: I am thrilled with the new DVD set
Review: Our friends at Anchor Bay have done it again! They have made the Sleepaway Camp series available to us on DVD...and in a very cool boxed set. I grew up on these cheesey, but fun, movies. I can't wait to put this set into my collection. Long live Angela Baker!

Summary: Sleepaway Camp Series
Review: Really if you've seen one, you've seen them all. The "Sleepaway Camp" movies follow the same beaten path as the "Friday the 13th" series.

The fact is, the first "Sleepaway Camp" movie is barely tolerable. At best, it's good for its unintentional laughs (espically the most predictable and ridiculous ending in cinema history). The film follows the counselers and campers of Camp Arawak. They all begin to die in comical ways. (And what is up with all the gay undertones? It has NO place in a horror movie.)

The second is more watchable believe it or not. Time is not wasted. The killer's revealed and people begin to die. The first one tried to play it straight and failed miserabely. This one ditches the serious tone and goes for a more jokey feel.

Still, their attempts of injecting scares in an already tired series falls flat.

You can watch the third by watch any of the previous entries. Our friendly killer goes to camp again and resumes yet another killing spree in which close to 20 more people die.

The body count of the entire series is somewhere near 50 or 60. The scare level below sea level. In fact, these films are only three more excuses to showcase female nudity.

The fact that films like these are given DVD transfers and true classics like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" get ignored is a complete insult.

The price tag isn't bad and the decision to buy this all depends on your idea of entertainment

Summary: Why'd they skip out?
Review: Sleepaway Camp is an amazing movie. So are the sequels for that matter. I rated this three stars because Anchor Bay made the stupid... decision when they released the original in 2000 to use the best-quality print they could find, which was missing several minutes found on old VHS copies. In other words, this isn't the complete version of the film. Do they really think fans of this series care about quality?

It was bad enough they put out a bad DVD the first time this was released, but they re-inserted the same bad DVD into this boxset. I would recommend buying C.H.U.D. instead.

In the meantime if you can't get your Sleepaway Camp fix, find an old video store that's closing down and buy the copy off them. Or I suppose eBay would work for that matter.

Don't get me wrong, though. The extras on this set are fantastic, but the most important movie of the three in my opinion is the original, which is why I'm a bit ... off.

Summary: Don't go to camp.
Review: Sleepaway camp trilogy boxset is another great release from Anchor bay who continue to release great horror films. The first sleepaway camp is like a typical slasher film from the 80's with boring teenagers who get slaughtered for doing bad things, the only difference is the ending which is probably the most shocking and the best ending ever I quickly changed my mind after that scene and thought that the film was great. Angela is a shy teenager who gets to go to summer camp with her cousin Ricky when Angela arrives at camp she suddently realises that she does not fit in and so she endes up killing alot of people. There isn't that much of a plot but it's not nessecary just like the friday the 13th films you just see it for the death scenes. the two sequals after the first one have more humor and are not dark like the first one so they shouldn't be taken seriously. Sleepaway camp 2 takes place after the incedent that happened a couple of years back, this time Angela has returned but now she is a camp counseler and is killing all the teens that are bad or idiotic, like the blond slut who gets killed in the outhouse (you have been a sh**ty camper). The third part is basicly the same as the second one with Pamela Springsteen who is Bruce Springsteen's sister? reprises her role as angela the Psychotic killer. Overall I think the films were great while the first one is my personal favorite, there are alot of extras like trailers, comentaries, behind the scenes ect. I suggest that you buy this now.
