Summary: A well-designed collection of the ultimate horror genre
Review: I'll have to admit that when it comes to horror/slasher/thriller type movies, I'm pretty much a casual fan. You won't find me camping out in front of the local cinema, waiting for "Friday the 13th Part 17--Jason Gets a Hip Replacement" . . . or, if Freddy Krueger shows up on cable on a lazy Saturday afternoon, I'll lounge on the couch and watch Heather Langenkamp look adorably cute.

However, when the original "Scream" hit the scene, I'd heard that the plot centered around the actual mechanics of horror movies . . . not a spoof of those movies, but an often tongue-in-cheek, sly wink at the slasher film culture.

You gotta hand it to Wes Craven, the horror icon behind many famous Hollywood flicks (most notably the "Nightmare" series), to be able to reinvent the entire horror genre, by redefining the "rules of engagement" of the traditional screamer movie. Instead of dismissing his characters as mere pawns who will eventully be sliced and diced by some tired, stereotypical hockey-mask wearing goon, Craven ups the ante by presenting the protagonists as being clever and strong, who have the ability to not only fight back, but set their own rules in outsmarting the bad guy.

Neve Campbell is great as the smart, tough, and sexy Sidney, the anchor of all 3 movies. The first movie probably has the strongest script of the three--well-balanced between comedy and suspense. The second installment, as with many trilogies, is burdened with too many details, and plods along; although, Sarah Michelle Geller, Laurie Metcalf, and Jerry O'Connell give excellent performances. The "final" chapter seems a bit lacking in the script department . . . too many loose ends tied-up conveniently, and rather sloppily at times. Still, the last 30 minutes of "3" is filled with enough white-knuckle, sleight of hand dramatics, that even the most jaded movie viewer will clutch their microwave popcorn very tightly. Plus, this last installment features the gorgeous Parker Posey, so that is certainly a bonus.

Speaking of bonuses--this collection includes multiple trailers, outtakes, Craven commentary, an alternate ending of "3", and an entire extra DVD-ROM featuring trivia and a screensaver.

The films in this unique trilogy stand well on their own; however, the extras included with this collection make this boxed set very much worth your money.

Summary: The Perfect [Horror] DVD Set!
Review: September 26th was a date etched in my brain. I could not wait for the arrival of the "Scream Trilogy: Box Set" let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Besided being the most successful horror series EVER, (yes people, even better than all 27 Friday the 13ths) it's really smart. The dialogue, characters and plot twists are exceptional. Of course, being directed by the MASTER of horror and suspense, Wes Craven, made it even better. This set is absolutely perfect. Each of the Scream films, all in widescreen, with Dolby Digital surround sound, audio commentary and loads of extras. The Scream extras include: 3 Behind The Scenes featurettes, trailers, TV Spots, Q&A with the cast and crew, special effect gallery, film facts etc. Scream 2's extras include: outtakes, deleted scenes, Production Featurette, music videos, trailer, TV Spots etc. Finally, Scream 3's DVD includes: Outtakes, Deleted Scenes, Alternate Ending, Trailers, TV Spots, music video, Behind the Scenes of all three Scream films and so much more. Finally, we get a bonus DVD. This is my favorite one of the set. It includes a 35 minute documentary titled, "Behind the Scream" includes interviews with the cast and crew; Outtakes from Scream, Screen tests, Sunrise Studio trailers, the "Stab 2" trailer, and the cutting room, where you can make your own version of the opening scene of "Scream 3." The set also comes with a 24 page Behind the Scenes book. including pictures, photos, a tribute to the victims etc. The cover comes in two separate parts, which is really cool. All in all, everyone MUST own this set, it's PERFECT!!!

Summary: I'm So Scared Right Now!
Review: Scream 3 was so good! I loved the line: "I wouldn't want to be friends with you, Sidney. Becuase if you're friends with Sidney, you die!" I also love the movie that makes fun of this movie: Scary Movie. IT'S VERY FUNNY!

Summary: They're not 'Army of Darkness', but what is?
Review: I saw the first Scream movie, years ago because I loved the look of the mask and I had heard good things about it - Number 1 is simply a classic slasher, ranking up there with the first Nightmare on Elm Street, The Evil Dead Trilogy, and the original Halloween. The 2nd one has its great kills and great parts but I would say it would have to be the worst in the trilogy - I hate Neve Campbell's boy friend so much - I want to stab in the forehead with a nice for real. {he's that idiot for Sliders} Anyways, the third one is my favorite because the Scream Stalker is so much cooler - he knows what he's doing. Its only downfall is countless of unfunny jokes. If you are a slasher fan, these films are not ones to miss. But if you're looking for horror film cult classics see the Evil Dead Trilogy or the first and third Nightmare on Elm Street films. If you love these films - I strongly suggest you watch and enjoy 'Scary Movie'

Summary: To hard to explain
Review: Well, as most of you say, the movie has no jumps or scares whatsoever. I am a huge Scream fan, and I thought Scream 3 was quite entertaining. I thought it had humor, romance, horror, and suspense. It's a perfect movie for mystery fans. And for all of you that say that Scream 3 is a bad horror movie, that's because it isn't a horror movie. Go to any video rental store, it's under Suspense. So in closing, tjis is a very good movie.

Summary: One of the best horror sequels I have ever seen...
Review: Sequels, whether the movie is a horror film or something else, almost always disappoint the audience. Only once in a great while does a sequel surpass the quality of the original film. This film, the third and supposedly final film in the Scream series, is actually one of those films. As great as Scream was, Scream 3 is better. It's one of those films that I can watch again and again without taking away any of the enjoyment or suspense.

The usual suspects are in this film - Campbell as Sidney, Cox as Gail, Arquette as Dewey... and there are a few fresh faces, too - Jenny McCarthy as the bimbo actress in the film within the film, "Puddy" from "Seinfeld" as a macho bodyguard, and Parker Posey in an extremely funny role as the actress playing Gail Weathers in "Stab 3", among others. This film also features a few surprise cameos that I really enjoyed... like Carrie Fisher and Jay & Silent Bob from the Kevin Smith films.

It's a perfect closing chapter to a movie that redefined the horror genre. I recommend it to horror movie fans nationwide. BUY THIS FILM NOW DAMNIT! :)

Summary: good BUT NOT great
Review: Seeing how scream was one of the greatest movies of my time, any movie following it's footsteps will be decent. Scream 2 was a sad and hurried attempt to cash in on scream 1. The same does not apply to scream 3. In scream 3 the overall ranking is better than scream 2, but it does not even come close to scream 1. Scream 3 has it's moments, and a decent(but corny) ending. Actually the whole movie is corny, scary, kinda funny and worth buying if you like the first one.
