Summary: Disappointed, just another teen angst flick...
Review: When I first heard of this movie, I thought had to see it. But by the end of the movie, I found myself wishing it was over a lot sooner. The situations Piper Perabo's character continued to put herself into, i.e. the library scene, the father/daughter dance, and the duel, were long, drawn out, and highly unnecessary. Halfway through, I found myself wishing that Piper Perabo's character would just kill herself already and get it over with. Jessica Pare's character was at least believable, but it definitely wasn't necessary to make sure we knew she didn't go "that way" when she watched the girl and guy do it against the tree (she only got turned on watching the hetero-sex). If you want to see a believable teen angst flick see All over Me or Show Me Love, skip this one.

Summary: I wasted my money...
Review: I'm a straight male (if it matters for this review), and I'm at the 92nd minute of this film. I wish I could get my money back. That's what I thought about 10 minutes into it.We have 2 moderately attractive aged 20-plus lead actresses (Perabo and Pare) and Mischa Barton, also attractive and about the right age, playing 16-year old prep school girls. POSSIBLE SPOILERS ahead -----> Although the 2 older girls are regularly having sex and essentially profess their undying love for each other - I believe the definition of lesbianism - one of them denies it after they are surprised in bed by her younger sister. "Don't tell Mom and Dad" and "I'm not a lesbian", and all that other hokey dialog, etc. This leads to the predictable "hurt feelings" and that emotional plot-point between the two now-former lovers. Now we are given everyone's impression of what "love" is. We have an abundance - really, really too much - of "shakespearean" quotes and dialog throughout the movie, which I suppose is intended to provide some weight to it. It made me cringe. We have "symbolic" songs, a "symbolic" hawk or eagle - sorry it's a "raptor" in the movie and even so-designated in the credits - and some ("symbolic"?) scenes of fencing with pointy swords and no protective eyewear. Again, most of it made me cringe. Thank God the movie finally ended just now. I'm a moderate Mischa fan - I've seen Mischa in several other movies - all weird ones..."Lawn Dogs" (was OK, though weird), "Pups" (was not OK - too much yelling) and "Skipped Parts" (was OK, also kind of weird), so I suppose I should not be surprised that "Lost and Delirious" is no real winner. I still have hopes for Mischa, however, to be in a truly good movie as she is still young. The others? I never saw them before and I have no interest in them now. If the movie had only cost $11.99, I would say "bad movie, but the women are cute and some are naked at times". At [item price], I say "bad movie", with no extras on the DVD. I do not consider subtitles and a trailer an extra. This is far from the worst movie I've seen (3-way tie between "Armageddon", "Happiness", and "Black and White"), but it is pretty low on the list of over 200 movies I own. (Additional comment - after watching it a second time, I "saw" more stuff, which could make it the worst movie I've seen.)

Summary: Silly, Cliched Movie with Lots of HOT Girl-on-Girl Action
Review: Ah, boarding schools! All girl boarding schools! As an erotic cliche, its tried and true, but so damn sexy! And that pretty much sums up LOST AND DELIRIOUS. It thrives on cliches, and takes itself way too seriously, but boy are the sex scenes the hottest things this side of an X-rating!
Of course, I'm bound to get some flack for these comments, but, alas, this is how it is and how I see the movie.
The story focuses on three roommates Polly, Tori and Sarah, at a prestigious boarding school where it's seemingly so easy for the girls to sneak out at night.
Well, Polly and Tori are engaged in one hell of a steamy relationship. In fact, they go at it just about every night. Well, when they are caught, Tori calls it off, and starts dating a man (in fact, he gets her up against a tree on their first date!! Damn, I should've gone to boarding school!).
Well, Polly gets all bent out of shape and jealous and starts acting like a total wacko.
And so on and so on. Aside from the hot sex, the whole thing just doesn't amount to much more than a homoerotic DAWSONS CREEK episode. Even the soundtrack is pretty foolish (listen for the absolutely absurd, recurring theme song that has the oh-so-poetic lyrics "What pretty hair......Can I Kiss You? Can I Kiss You............There?" YEAH!
That pretty much sums up the film, but, alas, I'm not going to lie- When it's on late night, you can sure as hell bet that I'm gonna watch it!
The one thing I don't understand is this- I wish they did more with the virginal, Sarah. I figured when the relationship between Polly and Tori ended, that Polly would sorta recruit Sarah and "show her the ropes." They kind of hint at that, but it never comes to fruition. Oh well. Perhaps there will be "Lost and Delirious 2: The Lost Days/Nights."

Summary: 'Lost and Delirious' sheds light on the beauty of love
Review: This film showcases the masterfully written story of two lovers who are torn apart by one's desire for parental acceptance. This film shows that love is something that can drive people to extremes, something powerful, something magical. When one of these girls drifts away from the love of her life, it does not matter that the two are both women. They could very well be any combination of things and it wouldn't change anything. This great film does what so many try to do, but they in doing so miss the target. 'Lost and Delirious' carries an impact that unexpectedly came to me, it has changed how I myself view love. It teaches that love is indeed blind to gender, race, and everything else categorized alongside. The movie screams that no one should ever ignore their love. This film was anchored by a stunning performance from Piper Perabo that drew all the emotion, all the exasperation, and all of the beauty into her character. This is a movie that actually has a point, and one that only the truly naive can miss.

Summary: A unique and touching film...
Review: Someone commented this film was too melodramatic, I say the melodrama is part of the beauty, P was just trying to not be any different than a guy in love with the drama and being galant wanting to fight for her love, if a guy did that in a movie it would be romantic and cute, so I really don't think it was too over the top dramatic because in the true moment of love and loss where the emotions are washing over you that is how people really feel, they would do anything, and that is what this film is trying to show, but we are just taught to hold those feelings back and be rational and blah blah, love is nothing but irrational in its true form without games and protecting yourself, the beauty of love is its irrationality! I love this movie too and just wanted to say so! Along with my all time favorite Foxfire!! I strongly recommend both.

Summary: Over the top lesbian melodrama
Review: "Lost and Delirious" is for people who like their melodrama laid on thick and heavy with few subtleties. (Also I'm sure they're are plenty of guys who will enjoy it simply for the tame lesbian love scenes between its two attractive leads.) The story is simple: young Mary Bradford arrives at an all girls boarding school and there she is used simply as a conduit to tell the audience the story of the doomed romantic relationship between her two roommates: preppy, bosomy "Tori" (Jessica Pare) and wildgirl "Pauly" (Piper Perabo.) When the relationship between Tori and Pauly is discovered, Tori breaks it off out of fear that she'll lose her family and, as a result, Pauly goes insane. In another review someone noted with approval that the school's faculty act with compassion and understanding upon the discovering that Pauly has developed a fixation on Tori and not with stereotypical condemnation. However, that's where this movie lost me. Pauly is a deeply disturbed character. There is nothing wrong with being a heartbroken young lesbian, but there is something wrong about being a violent, verbally abusive, psychopathic stalker! The school should have forced her to get help or kicked her out. However, "Lost and Delirious" is over-the-top melodrama and so we have sit through the inevitable conclusion of Pauly's emotional collapse. (I would just shake my head in wonder if anyone is surprised by how this movie ends.)

Summary: Predictable, yet still powerful
Review: I have to admit that I haven't seen much good lesbian filmmaking, so I was prepared to struggle through this movie. I ended up very much enjoying it. It was a very good, real, down-to-earth story. I loved P and wanted to kill Tori. That said, I could empathize with Tori's plight. Basically, it's a story of impossible love between two innocent high school age girls. The intolerance that they discover among the homophobic majority was tangible. Tori's subsequent rejection of P and the spiralling madness into which it sends the latter girl made my heart ache. My only complaint is that the acting was sometimes stiff or overboard. Overall, I don't think anyone will be disappointed after seeing this movie.

L&D defentally deserves five stars. The first time I saw it I was half asleep and watching it in pitch black, but I still loved it. Immedentally I downloaded it the next day to watch it repetedally. Not only is the acting that Mischa, Jessica and Piper do wonderful, but the movie is wonderfully writin. It shows great depth with a great range of emotions. I reccomend this movie to anyone 12 and up. Yes, I do know it's rated R, but I'm 13 and I can recite the whole movie to you.

Summary: amazing and beautiful
Review: i didn't know what to expect when i picked up this movie only to find that it is one of the most touching and heartfelt movies i've seen in quite some time. the performances may seem over the top at first but really embrace and capture the raw and often painful emotions that come with losing the thing we hold most dear. i would recommend this movie to homosexual and heretosexual viewers alike as we all have felt and dealt with this at some points in our lives.
