Summary: Good but didnt fully live up to my expectations
Review: Although this was a good movie, I was a bit disapointed with it. It started off well then by the end it seemed to have lost its artsy fantasia fairy tale ideal that made it so captivating at first.

Summary: A fun, sexy visual treat!
Review: I saw it our times in the theater and I still can't get enough of it! Gorgeous costumes, great music, and sexy performances from Jonathan Rhys-Myers and Ewan McGregor (Yum!). One of my all-time favorites.

Summary: LOVE THIS MOVIE
Review: Ok, so i have to admitt the only reason i rented this video was because Placebo is in it... and i happen to obsess over them.. I never saw a commercial for it or anything of the sort, it didn't get much publicity in America, obviously, but finally the movie place around here got it in and i rented it asap... i loved it. Even if Placebo's part wasn't a large one, the movie totally rocked. All about glitter and glam two things i love... and a load of gay guys.. something i also love. Anyways. I loved this movie, and i think its a exeptional movie for open minded people.

Summary: "FAN-FANTASTIC"
Review: I couldn't believe how GREAT this movie actually was & why it wasn't a box office hit!!!!! Also I must say that at various times in the movie even though Ewan McGregor was playing the role of Iggy, he seemed to have some Kurt Cobain qualities bleeding through......Take a second look when he's walking down the street w/his dark roots showing & his black nail polish on, it is "SPOOKY GREAT"!!!!!!!A DEFINITE BUYER VIDEO!!!!!

Summary: Lovely, improbable, infuriating, beautiful: sucks nicely...
Review: While this film is far from perfect, it also has some perfect moments and is certainly ambitious, though ultimately stumbling. All the same, I liked the frank depictions of homosexuality, glamour, and the story in genereal. Remember "Phantom of the Paradise"?

if you take this film too seriously you will regret it. If you don't, you may enjoy it (or not..) ha ha ha.

Summary: A must see...again and again and again...
Review: This movie goes beyond words among other things. I walked out of the theater speechless. The performances were great. The costumes and sets were magical...and the MUSIC! It is a beautiful movie in many ways. Haynes is brilliant! You really need to watch this movie and watch it again and again. It started a whole new obsession for me...

Summary: A perfect visual and musical treat
Review: I loved this film and ran right out to buy the soundtrack, although I would have loved it if David Bowie had given permission to use his music as well. I would predict that Jonathon Rhys Myers will in the next five years become much better known - he was a little aloof in the film but I believe that was intentionally done. What a beautiful man, though - he looked marvelous as a star! The relationship between he and Curt Wilde (Ewan McGregor) was very touching, and Toni Colette did a great job as the Angela Bowie-esque wife, kicked to the curb by the end. Christian Bale's part, in my view, was pretty superflous, in my view - it was annoying and only helped to move the story along but as a character, I didn't like him. I would recommend this film highly!

Summary: Best Glam rock movie of all time
Review: Lets face it Glam rock is making a come back and its hitting hard. Velvet Golmine is a wonderful experience. It sumarizes the entire glam-rock era. Ewan McGregor and Johnathan Rhyes Myers greatest roles yet. Any David Bowie/Iggy Pop fans would enjoy this movie. Its like a recreation of their lifes. Best movie of all time.

Summary: for the most part i thought this film rocked
Review: Visually this movie was totally stunning, some of the best costumes and such that i have ever seen. I thought that at some points towards the middle and end of this movie it wavered a bit but for the most part it was, i thought, excellent. It is theatrical instead of realistic but then so is glam so there was really no better way to portray it. I felt like it really made an impression and captured the mood. Oh, and we mustn't forget a completely awesome soundtrack.

Summary: Fantastic! Iggy Pop fans must see this film!
Review: Ewan McGregor is Iggy Pop. His american accent is correct, he flashes the "down and out Iggy trashy junkie look". He is great at playing Iggy Pop on stage. Iggy licensed his music to the film and I wish Bowie had too. If you want to buy into Bowie's future royalties (stock or bond issue), this film would have helped increase his music royalties income. A must for Iggy fans.
