Summary: And another thing ...
Review: I concur with everything else that has been said ... a great, fun movie and I loved it. Also, for those of you who might need extra incentive, the DVD version has a fun and funny commentary that runs the whole length by the director and two lead actresses.

Summary: Very Pleasant Film
Review: I thought this movie was pretty good for an independent film. The chemistry between the characters Alex and Grace was excellent and that is the core of the movie . The porch scene between these two was very beautiful and well executed. In the end this movie works because you really care about, and like the four main characters(Alex,Grace, Spencer, Mark). The ending was hilarious.Do no miss it.

Summary: contrived story...but hot women!!!
Review: I don't know what the problem is with producing, good, hot lesbian erotica in film...we either get good sex scenes in the very beginning as in "Bound" but then have to put up with the gratuitous violence of some mafia stoolie getting his fingers cut-off with a pruner in the next scene! "It's in the water" teases one into this lame story of a modern-day "gone-with-the-wind-town", with these two gorgeous babes falling for each other. Then it spins itself into a soap-opera ending...with practically no sex. Don't buy it ladies, rent it.

Summary: Great Movie!
Review: It was nice to see a funny movies with a "gay" twist! Not only that but the leading ladies were "very attractive" and not your stereo type "Butch" as in some flicks. The kissing was very sensual... only complaint... there could have been more of it!

Summary: Disappointing attempt at gay comedy
Review: I was greatly disappointed with this film. The main characters lacked chemistry and the plot wasn't believable.

Summary: Wait until it's on clearance
Review: ...the gay men in this movie aren't portrayed well at all. They tried to appeal to both gay men and lesbians and didn't pull it off. They did little or no character development on any of the male actors. The acting ranges from fair (Alex) to very bad (Grace). The directing is poor at best. I found myself wanting to skip forward at times because I was bored to tears. And what's with Alex's mother? She was funny for about the first five minutes and then it got REAL stale. As a lesbian, I will add this to my library of DVDs, but I wish I had bought it off the clearance rack.

Summary: This movie sucks
Review: I really looked foward to seeing this movie. The trailers for it were great. To say that i was disapointed is an understatement. What a wonderful idea for a movie and the director fails completely! The only good thing I have to say about the movie is that it looked great. If you are a gay man, or an African American, you will be offended by this picture. It is replete with every stereo type pertaining to both groups that is out there. The only people portrayed with any respectability are the lesbians. The men have almost no redeeming qualities. i don't think the filmmaker likes men very much. her views on blacks seems to be that they are either drag queens, mammies or happy gospel singers. get the picture. Over all a very bad movie. Save your money, Don't rent or buy

Summary: This is a beautiful movie.
Review: I absolutely adore this movie. The two main characters Alexandra and Mark deal with accepting their homosexuality and living their lives honestly in a small town that is full of homophobes. Alex is married but has not had sex with her husband in months, and really doesn't even talk to him anymore. Alex's life is shaken up when she runs into an old school friend, Grace, who was beaten up by her husband, who is now in jail, because she was having an affair with another woman. Alex was basically raised to be a "little woman" kind of wife--she obviously never questioned her sexuality before, until Grace tells her that she is a Lesbian. It was really good to see Alex defy her mother and her husband who were both determined to try to "keep her in her place." When Alex tells her husband that she has a job and he forbids her to take it I thought I was watching a movie that was set back in the Stone Age.

Mark, on the other hand, has known that he is gay ever since he was a teenager, but he is attending a group that is supposed to turn its members into "ex-gays." He meets a man,Tomas,at the "homo-no-mo group" because Tomas ended up there on accident. Mark is immediately attracted to Tomas, and he just cannot seem to help himself because he starts pursuing a relationship with him.

After Mark and Alex decide to accept their homosexuality, and live an openly gay lifestyle, they spend the rest of the movie dealing with the problems that this causes--although Alex has much more serious problems because she is married while Mark only has a girlfriend that he was never very interested in.

This movie is so heartwarming and beautiful, that I know I will enjoy watching this movie again and again, I am so happy to have this movie.

Summary: Endearing, Lighthearted Entertainment!
Review: I must admit after reading some of the other reviews I was nervous in purchasing this title. After watching this movie I couldn't be happier to add this to my GLBT movie library, right next to Better Than Chocolate. If you like to laugh, see this movie.

True, the characters are stereotypical but that allows its message to be more universal. The acting may not be the best but it's more believable than other movies I've watched. I would have enjoyed a longer love scene...but it's not supposed to be porn. I was very impressed with the southern accents. They didn't sound fake as in other movies that take place in the south!

The whole movie kept me laughing and reminded me how true this could be in my own town. It was worth the price just for the movie rental scene! The movie is about a lesbian and a gay man coming out to their socially prominent families in a small southern town. Prejudice is real and can be funny when seen for the absurdity that it's based on. There are some serious bits about discrimination and AIDS but it flows with the storyline and works out in the end.

If you're into serious and intense this movie is probably not for you, but if you want an hour and a half of lighthearted entertainment that's not all fluff I recommend this one!
