Summary: Stay away from Panasonic!
Review: Customer Service - the Panasonic website claims this is very important to them. I had my home theater only 3-4 months when a VCR tape got stuck. I has now been at the service center for almost 4 months! When I am lucky enough to get a response from Panasonic (which is rare), they make promises of completion and/or replacement. But promises won't play the DVD's my family would have liked to watch together over the holidays. When we finally got through to the customer service center on the phone, they had the nerve to hand up on us twice. IF YOU WANT A COMPANY TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS - STAY AWAY FROM PANASONIC!!! I have truly given up hope of even getting my home theater back from the Panasonic service center.

Summary: This works great for my requirement
Review: I could not use it to the fullest potential as I live in a apartment. I like it till now, I have flat screen TV never faced any problem as they described in other reviews for plasma tv's.

I like the look of it too, the tall boy speakers look great.
I paid 410$ and I am expecting 50$ back(360$). I feel it is worth the money.

I rate it 5 stars from experience.

Summary: Very Powerful, Great Value and Performance
Review: I just received this theater system yesterday and it is wonderful. I found it very easy to setup, the directions are very easy to follow and understand even if you aren't electronically inclined. Plus the manual isn't a 100 page book you have to read to learn how to run the system.

I love the design of the system also. Panasonic made the DVD 5 disc changer look really cool by making the front of it look like a mirror. Also around the volume knob, it glows with blue light when you turn the system on. The speakers are silver and have a nice design. The tall (long) speakers are the front speakers and the smaller ones go in the back of the room. The nice thing is that all the speakers are capable of hanging on the wall. Also, poles that are attached to the tall front speakers (as shown in the picture) can be used for the back speakers instead if you like. So there are options with this system.

The performance of the system is amazing and at the price I got it for, you CAN"T go wrong. The DVD player is quick when changing discs and quiet. There are also a lot of setup options. You can ajust the subwoofer level from the remote, many different picture views, sound settings for cd's, and speaker adjustments to name a few. Also, there are tons of inputs for you extra devices. I have the VCR and 3 game systems hooked up to it. I also liked the fact that it had the option for component cable hook ups for the TV. I bought some of those cables last night and the picture does look better. I love the subwoofer. It's pretty hefty but definately worth it. There are 4 different bass levels you can set it on and it is POWERFUL. I put in The Chronicles of Riddick and it shook the floor and my cat hid for the rest of the night. You have to be careful though. I live in an apartment and the bass can be heard clearly and heavily outside the apartment and I didn't have the volume up very loud at all. But with the subwoofer adjustment, you can find a setting that works best for you.

I suggest this product for everyone. It works so great and it's such a good value for the money that I'm telling all my friends about it.

Summary: Bad Progressive Scan on Mine
Review: System was all right in most respects, but when I connected to progressive scan inputs on our plasma tv, got erratic white line flashes in the screen while playing movies (tried several different DVD's). I do have another progressive scan DVD player and my TV is working just fine with it. Amazon.com is letting me return for credit less shipping charges for the return. Lesson learned here is be careful what box you check when making returns--I selected the "Product performance/quality is not up to my expectations" reason, so I get to pay for the return (84lbs via UPS ground--gotta be expensive). I'd recommend buying large items like this from a conventional brick and mortar store to facilitate returns. Or be sure and select the "Product is Defective" option if there is even the slightest problem with the system.

Summary: Decent For The Money
Review: This Panasonic system was an upgrade from a cheap 300 dollar Sony system I had. This system is pretty good overall. The rear speakers sound great, as well as the tall boy speakers. They really do give you great loud theater sound, and the subwoofer really does it justice. It's pretty big for a home theater in a box system, and with your remote it's easy to adjust the volume for the subwoofer, along with four preset subwoofer levels to accomadate those using this in a small bedroom with neighbors, or for those of you using this in your home living room. The only real issue I might warn about this system is the center channel, which has some bad peak noises from time to time. It doesn't happen with most of your movies unless it's one that has been mixed wrong, but I notice with certain TV shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the vocal audio sometimes has a slight hiss at the top of some high or really low pitches. Some other systems you would still notice it with these DVD's, but not as much. Some systems you hear that noise more than others, and this one it seems to be a little more noticeable than some. But overall, this system has the ability to be very loud and envelope you in sound. For 500 dollars it's a great buy, although I do hear a lot of people prefer the Onkyo for the same price, but I don't prefer at this time to have a rear center channel. This is a great set for 500 dollars and if you're not willing to spend money for a system of $1000+, than this is a good setup.

Moving away from the sound quality, this has a reciever and 5 dvd disc changer all in one. Some people warn about heat caused by the reciever on your DVD's, but I've experienced no problem of over heating at all. Don't even worry about it. The DVD changer is high speed and you can change discs by remote within seconds.

All in all as I've said, you get your moneys worth with this.
