Rating: Summary: This is great for rounding out a high-impact workout Review: I take flamenco dance classes 2-3 times a week (lots of footwork involved) and this was perfect for the days in between classes when I wanted a minimal impact exercise program. I love the 3 different sections because I can choose one depending on how tired I am that day or how hard I want to work out. If I want something just to get me moving, I choose the stamina workout and if I want a more challenging workout, I go for the others. If I miss a dance class or two, I have the option of doing the entire workout to alleviate the guilt. I also love the fast pace of Rodney Yee....it keeps me from getting bored. Although I take dance classes, I'm not very flexible and I've noticed an improvement in my flexibility after only a couple of workouts. Lastly, I don't get to strengthen my upper body as much during my dance classes and this DVD really fills that gap. This DVD is great for those who already have an earobic, moderate-high impact exercise program and are looking for something to round it out. It is difficult to keep up at first but after a few sessions you become familiar with the positions and you hardly have to look up at the screen anymore (Rodney's verbal instructions are great----don't worry if you're a step or two behind, eventually you'll get it). The settings are also a big bonus. Each workout is like a mini get-away.
Rating: Summary: Improved my poses so quickly! Review: This combo workout is perfect for those who want to practice yoga regularly because it has three 30-minute segments that will keep you interested all week. Its quick transitions between moves will get your heart rate up, and you'll be surprised how quickly your poses will improve with this three-pronged approach. Rodney Yee is personable, though I don't think a true beginner who is not familiar with a few basic poses could keep up right away. Just watch it through once or twice and get started--you'll fall in love with yoga!
Rating: Summary: Great workout! Review: This is a great workout from Rodney Yee. Not only are the individual sessions a great form of exercise, but his detailed instructions on positioning make it easy for even beginners to feel comfortable. While some of the moves are a little advanced, they make each one challenging, and keep it interesting as a regular workout.
Rating: Summary: Good workout, but not for beginners Review: This DVD is pretty good but definitely not for beginners or people who are not already in good shape. The workout is very thorough but there is really no explanation of how to get into the poses if you are not as flexible or experienced as the instructor, nor does the instructor really explain what the poses are supposed to accomplished. For beginners, I would recommend Yoga Zone series. They are much more thorough in their explanations and usually one of the instructors on the video will show you how to maintain proper form in a pose even if you can't extend as far as the instructor.
Rating: Summary: Tricky yet do-able Review: This DVD is tricky, but once again Rodney Yee makes it very do-able! Definately worth buying...three 20 minute sessions which can be done one at a time, (more suitable for beginners like myself) or combined as a complete Power Workout. Even if you can't stretch like Rodney, don't get discouraged, you'll still feel all the benefits of this intense workout. The music and the breathtaking 'on location' backdrops of this program are like no other!
Rating: Summary: So so for Beginners Review: I am an advanced beginner and has been taking yoga lessons at the local gym and doing yoga to videotapes for the last 3 months. I found the DVD a bit disappointing since to me, it was not very challenging, particularly compared to the Power Yoga classes and DVDs I've seen and practiced. In comparison, Rodney went through the motion far too quickly (for my taste) and I hardly broke a sweat when doing his routine. I also found it disconcerting that what he narrates might not be what he is doing at the same time. However, once you get used to the routine, I just listened to him and rather than watch his positions. Lastly, some of the positions are also way difficult for beginners (for which I assume this DVD is). The cinematography in this DVD is great though. If you truly want a challenging power yoga workout and is advanced beginner/intermediate like me, I really enjoyed Bryan Kest's Power Yoga series.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful yoga DVD for beginers to the more advanced. Review: This DVD was my second yoga purchase and first by Rodney Yee. He is amazing. the backgrounds where it was filmed were very soothing and the workout was challenging yet, as someone who isn't much into excercise, was easy to follow. I particularly enjoyed the introductions by Rodney at the begining of each section. they were very informative. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning the poses of yoga or the more advanced person interested in perfecting their practice as Mr. Yee has great form.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS REALLY A GOOD DVD!!!! Review: I purchased this DVD after having done yoga for about a month and I am seriously overweight but I was still able to do this. The 1st segment is just enough cardio to get you a good full body workout and after about two tries the moves are simple. The second segment I am not ready for as it has advanced moves but I hope to work up to it. The third segment, however, is less strenuous than the third and offers a full body series of flexibility exercices. Rodney Yee is a great teacher and I think this video is good for a beginner but maybe not for your very first video.
Rating: Summary: good Review: I am new to yoga and I liked the faster pace of this tape. After 2 times I had the moves down! This program is for the go-getter! I would not recommend for the severely out of shape or overweight person.
Rating: Summary: Bought the wrong DVD Review: If you are new to Yoga, this DVD will not help you. Everything goes by too quickly. Most of the really good beginner yoga videos are only on VHS for some reason. I hope this changes.
