Summary: If you can buy only one yoga video -
Review: you need to buy this one! Suzanne is an excellent instructor - explains movements well. This video is easy to follow - has four people working at different levels - and feels wonderful! I own it in VHS and bought the DVD version, since I'm probably wearing it out. I have been able to work at a level comfortable for me and have noticed a toning and firming.

Summary: I'm impressed so far . . .
Review: The first yoga videos I did was Bryan Kest's trilogy. I have yet to get past the first one and the tape's wearing out. I wish he'd put them on DVD.

I really like this Yoga Conditioning DVD so far. The ability to set it on one of 4 levels and see only that level is what DVD is all about. I hadn't worked out in months so I didn't go through the whole workout yet, but I find her voice very soothing, words very helpful, scenery not bad. The sequencing of poses is very smooth. I am impressed so far . . .

Summary: A good workout- Easy to follow
Review: I like this video very much because the workout is challenging yet easy to follow. The music and narration is very well done. The poses are good for a beginner like me (been practicing for about 6 mos.) and yet, I can imagine using this video when I'm much more flexible and strong. I think the twisting poses are the weakest link here, because they just don't do anything for me. Otherwise, though the poses are usually simple, you spend enough time holding them, so you build endurance and strength. This is the video that got me hooked on yoga. It reminds me of the Ali McGraw Yoga Mind & Body video which is so good. I always feel great after I've done this workout with Suzanne Deason and her three fellow instructors. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Conditioning for the drasticly over-weight.
Review: This DVD works well for the very very heavy or those with no physical condition what so ever. When I read the title I assumed that there was some level of "conditioning" or real physical exertion. I was mislead. I was looking for something that I could use to cross-train with my running and weight lifting and to help me lose a few pounds. In my opinion, Its a 45 minute stretching session with no real "conditioning" for those who already have some level of fitness.

Summary: Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss
Review: I own 5 other Yoga tapes and this one by far is my favorite. It's an excellent tape for beginners through intermediate users. I like the fact that there are 4 women doing the each pose with a slightly different modification. This will be a tape that will continue to challenge you as you become more flexible. I don't believe the title is accurate. This isn't a cardio workout, so don't expect weight loss. You will firm up as a result of working out with this tape.

Summary: Decent workout- ugly landscape...
Review: ok- here's the scoop. viewing & practicing this tape will NOT become the easy way to shed pounds (i knew that before i bought it) -you gotta do aerobic stuff to lose weight & this ain't aerobic, people. secondly- i guess it's my personal preference, but i like a pretty sand/pacific landscape & didn't realize this one was done on a random rock in Arizona until i already purchased it. Also- if you're the type who hates skimpily klad women doing all the yoga- this is your video. average, non-model types take you through the poses... altho i'm not sure if i enjoy looking at them in spandex? ahh well, can't always get what you want. good luck getting amazon to ship this in less than a month.

Summary: A Great Video for Beginners!
Review: I thought this was a wonderful video. I loved how there were four women doing many different ability levels for each pose. I found the postures easy to master and I had only done one yoga class before buying this tape! This video really challenges you yet makes you feel comfortable right from the start. This tape was much more inviting than any other tape I have reviewed so far (I've seen four others) and the backdrop makes you wish you could be right there with them. I recommend this video with much confidence but want to stress that I didn't really find this to be a useful tool for weight loss. I think that the video should be renamed to Total Focus, Relaxation, and Flexability for Yoga Beginners!

Summary: Don't be fooled by the title
Review: Let me first say that in order to lose weight, you must burn calories. In order to burn calories you must sweat. You will NOT burn calories or sweat with this video. You will NOT lose weight. This is NOT an aerobic yoga tape. If you want to use yoga to lose weight, try Ashtanga yoga or Power yoga. Skip this tape. If you are an absolute beginner, then try Yoga Journal's Yoga for beginners. This tape is just taking advantage of the millions in hawking weight loss products to mostly women.

Summary: Has good and bad points, but overall effective
Review: I would first love for someone to answer a question for me if possible: Why do they warn menstuating women not to do inverted or twisting poses? I thought that was very odd and it goes against everything I know about excersise. I have another yoga tape and have not seen this warning and I took yoga all through HS and don't remember anyone saying this.

Now for the video. First of all, running time is 60 minutes, but that includes the instructions at the beginning and the credits. I felt this video could have been slightly longer with more poses. Then again, I like longer workouts in general . . . I also wish they would have focused in on each of the modifications more. Sometimes it was hard to see what someone was doing.

When I did this video, I mixed up the variations, using all four at different points due to my varying degrees of flexibility. I think this is an excellent way to make a yoga video, because you have to work up to being so limber, so you can use this video for a long time as you get more flexible and obtain more balance. Also, Suzanne Deason is beautiful to watch and it's nice to see her as a role model on the screen. She is graceful, flexible, and so happy when she is doing yoga! I also liked the fact that there were many body types involved. I hate seeing all skinny people in my excersise videos.

Overall, a good workout, but I probably won't use it forever . . .

Summary: Great for an absolute beginner.
Review: This is a nice way to ease yourself into yoga practice. It's not a "feel the burn" type of video in any way. It's perfect for someone to just needs to start moving and stretching.

Definately not for an advanced student or someone with a higher degree of fitness. It's far too easy.
