Summary: THE BEST OF TAE BO
Review: I LOVE TAE BO BUT THESE ARE THE BEST OF THE BUNCH AND I HAVE THEM ALL. THE MOVES ARE INTENSE YET NOT TOO COMPLEX (FOR THOSE OF US WHO CAN'T DANCE), AND BOY WILL YOU GET RESULTS. I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO THESE!

HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ADVANCED. IF YOU HAVE NOT EXERCISED BEFORE, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO START BUT, HOPEFULLY, IT IS WHERE YOU WILL END UP.

Summary: Fast paced, challenging videos
Review: I love Tae Bo! I'd have to say that these two videos are great! They are fast paced and keep you on your toes! Not a moment of the video is boring! The only reason I don't rate this five stars is because they don't have the buns, abs, and thighs like the regular Advanced video. And it also, like many of the Advanced videos...dosen't have much of a warm up. You just start off jumping around and then doing a few strethes! I still love these tapes because they are a great workout and the results are fast!

Summary: Tae Bo kicked my butt
Review: I purchased the original four tape set. Generally I only did the basic when I was pressed for time and the advanced most of the time. This advanced set definitely kicks your butt in gear. It's not as coordinated as the previous videos but it's nice that it has new moves not done before. You'll have to watch it a couple of times to coordinate the new moves but it's worth the purchase.

Summary: What a long.......strenuous workout!!!!
Review: I rated this set 4 stars because it really is a good workout for an advanced person. Man! Each workout is about an hour! What? Come on? There is only so much kicking and punching I wanna do. I think 30 to 45 minutes is plenty, but to go on with this stuff for an hour is a bit much. Also, you could through a knee out if you don't do the moves just right. I really would recommend getting the beginners tape first. Even then it is complicated to concentrate on getting the moves perfect when you are moving at a reasonably speedy pace. So for all of you high falutin' advanced workout buffs this workout for you!!! For all you intermediate or beginners......BYPASS...until you are in a more advanced state of fitness...I'm an intermediate myself and needless to say, I sold mine....

Summary: More fun-not as effective as the first advanced tape
Review: I really enjoy these tapes, but I find that the original advanced Tae-bo tape gives me a much better and more consistent cardiovascular workout. I don't work up as much of a sweat with Get Ripped and some of the moves are just too fast to be really effective. I also find that Get Ripped is tough on the knees, even if you follow Billy's advice carefully.

Having said this, Get Ripped is also more fun and the music is far better. I rotate between Original Advanced, Glutes and Abs and Advanced Get Ripped to keep things interesting.

Just watch those KNEES!

Summary: Don't use these tapes unless you are an Advanced user!
Review: I started doing Tae-bo almost a year ago. These tapes aren't like the others. I found some of his Advanced tapes not to be very challenging at all until I found this set on vacation in Florida. Even for an Advanced Tae-bo user like myself I still get pretty winded when doing these tapes (exp. the 1st one). Overall I love Billie. I love his positive outlook on life and the way he includes the viewer into the workout is such a draw towards his videos, besides it being a fun workout and you burn a ton of calories (I was told 800 per hour!)

Summary: Excellent workout
Review: I started doing Tae-Bo when the tapes first came out and I've been doing kickboxing for years-- this is definately the most intense workout I've done so far. I've ordered so many other tapes only to find that they moved way too slow and were completely useless. You do have to know your own limits with these tapes though because the tempo can be very fast at times. The music isn't the best, but this is an excellent workout and the time goes by so fast. Larry Lam's XKO is also an excellent workout, but not quite as challenging as this one.

Summary: No Pain, No Gain
Review: I was appalled at some of the "reviews" I saw, like the one saying this workout is horrible and "leaves you tired." NO KIDDING! That's what exercise is supposed to do! And someone else wrote something like "no one really gets ripped with these tapes, and it's all a marketing ploy." What this person doesn't realize is that NO amount of exercise will do you good if you're not following a balanced diet and if you're not putting your all into what you're doing. The reason there's a 95% diet failure rate in America is precisely because of attitudes like this; you have to work hard if you want to be rewarded, and you've got to make the OVERALL effort, and that means doing both aerobic and anaerobic exercise on a consistent basis and combining it with smart eating.

With that being said, Tae-Bo II: Get Ripped! is a very rewarding experience if you do the moves correctly. Billy is always an inspiration and keeps you on your feet the whole time. Trust me, during vigorous workouts like this, it's easy to give up long before the tape is over, but you owe it to yourself to do as much as you can without hurting yourself. I've been doing various Tae-Bo workouts for several months now and I haven't gotten bored with the routine because it WORKS, and I'd rather get bored with something that works for me then get excited with something that really doesn't give me the results I want. I found Tape 1 to have more strength training (particularly a lot of kicks to strengthen thighs), while Tape 2 had more cardio with great routines geared toward abs and glutes.

Have fun!

Summary: Great workout, but still needs some additional help
Review: I was really looking forward to getting this DVD in the mail and continuing on my TaeBo workout. I have the original VHS TaeBo tapes, but they always left me wanting a longer workout. I wrongly assumed that these DVDs would have longer workouts (at least 35 mins of intense cardio). Instead the workouts average 25 mins total. The one saving grace is the 8 minute power workout. I now skip the cool down stage of the main workout and forward straight to the 8 min workout (which actually runs about 12 mins!). Then I either go back to the cool down or just do my own. As for the workouts themselves, I think they are vastly improved over the first series, and it's nice to have 2 different workouts to choose from, with some new moves. The sounds still needs some work. When you pay big bucks for a DVD, you expect quality sound, and this just isn't up to par. Billy gets washed out sometimes. The music is a little tinny too.
