Summary: Don't like the backup crew
Review: When I first popped this tape in, I didn't like it at all. I have other Kathy Smith tapes, and she usually does an excellent job of paying attention to the body to help prevent injuries. Not with this one. You have to warm up on your own first, and once you do get started the moves are awkward enough you can easily twist an ankle or knee. Although I think I might eventually get used to the moves, I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the overcrowded crew constantly "whoo-ing" in the background. Some call that motivating, I call it distracting and annoying.

Review: one of my favorite kathy smith videos! kathy and her group is motivating and the music if great! there are 2 parts: the 1st 20 mins offer easy to learn choreography; the 2nd 20 mins offer
hi-lo impact with a calorie-burst option.the moves are easy to learn; and u also have a choice to do high impact in the 2nd segment of the 40 min workout. a truly enjoyable boredom-busting video!

Summary: Great fun...even for my baby
Review: I have almost all of Kathy Smith's workout tapes, but this is my favorite. Both routines are a lot of fun and I have never gotten bored with them. I think I used this tape 3-4 times per week every week for the first three months I had it and I still love it! Returning to working out after having a baby was tough, but this was one of the first tapes I got out again. My 4 month-old laughs out loud while watching this tape. What great motivation for me to be exercising and entertaining my baby! As always, Kathy is enthusiatic without being too "cheerleader perky" and she is a wonderful instructor. I love you, Kathy!

Summary: I like this one.
Review: The problem I've had with other aerobic videos is they made my joints achey because of continuous "big" moves like squats. I'm impressed with this because theres nothing like that here yet you are still getting a really good workout. Make sure you either stretch your calves before the workout if you're doing it without shoes OR wear running shoes, otherwise your calves will burn. The cueing and instruction are really good. I still had to do this video about 5 times before I actually learned all the moves because its fast paced. But once you learn it, its really FUN!! One bad thing is there's too many back-up people always cheering/yelling. I wish I could mute them out. I didn't really like the bonus stretch at the end because I didn't think she held them long enough, so I just do my own. Overall I definately recommend this video.

Summary: Great way to burn calories!
Review: I have bought many exercise videos over the past several months to rotate into my daily exercise routine to keep from getting bored. This one stands out as one of my favorites. It is good even if you don't need it for its "Timesaver" qualities, as you can easily get a longer, full-length workout by combing both routines. I normally don't make the music much of a criteria in my rating of a video, but on this, I will have to say, the music does deserve mention as a positive for this video. In addition, while on many videos the smiles given by the demonstrators are obviously fake and seemingly 'plastic', this it the people seem to have geniune smiles and really seem to be having a great time. The chatting between them seems spontaneous rather than canned and rehearsed. I normally do both segments consecutively, and I really feel that I have burned a lot of calories and really work up a sweat. The cool down section is very relaxing and really stretches out the body. I would advise following Kathy's recommendation by adding more of your own warm-up before starting into the routine. An ideal time to do this is while the previews are showing at the beginning of the tape and while Kathy is giving instruction before the routine (marching in place and doing some leg, arm, and neck stretches during this helps loosen you up for the workout).

Like any video, it may take a few times through to get familiar with the routine. Don't be discouraged if the first couple of times through if you are having trouble with the steps. You will catch on! Good luck.

Summary: Good Place to Start
Review: This is a great video for when you're starting to get in shape. The 2 20 minute segmants are convenient from a time standpoint. When I first started, I just did the first 20 minutes, then I worked up to the whole 40 minutes, and now I do the whole thing in high impact. The moves are interesting and definitely "doable" by the second time through. Now that I have a whole bunch of tapes, I still love coming back to this one. This tape is definitely a staple in my video workout library.

Summary: does not wear well
Review: Kathy and co started to bore me very shortly. While the moves are fine, I quickly tired of Kathy and the 'whoop whoop' crew. It's such a white bread video that it did not hold my interest. Exercise video must wear well and this one does not. I prefer Gin Miller who is more hip and easy to live with for a long time.

Summary: The 2nd half is better...
Review: I enjoy all of Kathy Smith's videos and this one was no different. Doing this video is a good way to spend 40 minutes working out, but I find that I like the 2nd half better. It's kind of like interval training. You're constantly moving, but for a couple of minutes you do calorie bursts where you up the movement a little bit. Everyone doesn't up it, so you can follow the people moving slower on your slow days and follow the people moving faster on your fast days. One big complaint from me is the people in the video are a little to happy and they all have microphones, so every little cheesy statement they say is picked up. The chick on the right in the very beginning is the most annoying. They also do a lot of moving around. Not in the routines, but different people move up to the front to kind of "take over" the class. Great attitudes, but sometimes it seems a little fake. Overall though, this is another good Smith video and you won't be disappointed.

Summary: My Favorite Aerobic Workout of all TIme!!
Review: Once I did this video a couple times through I got all the "moves" down. I never tire of it and if I do the 40 minutes straight through I really feel as though I got to my target heart rate (and then some). I ALWAYS go back to this video because it is SO much fun to do. I LOVE IT!!
