Summary: Great Workout!
Review: I've been doing Tae Bo on and off for almost 5 years. I've always found it a challenging workout that makes you sweat and reshapes your body. I've only pushed myself to the point of the intermediate workouts because of back and knee problems. I've never been suited for the advanced series. That being said, I decided to purchase Tae Bo Cardio to add to my collection and change things up a bit. Well for me it was a great work out. I definitely was sweating and really felt like I got a great workout. The routines were similar to the other Tae Bo videos/dvds so if you're not a novice to Tae Bo, you'll be able to pick it up quickly. There are a couple of drawbacks. The music is repetitive, but you get sort of use to that with any workout video. Secondly, there were some pretty quick changeups that were a little hard to follow and a little fast paced. Easy to twist a knee or your back if you're not careful. But overall, I think it's a great workout. Perhaps it's just more suited for those of us who are more intermediate than advanced. I will definitely keep doing it along with my other videos.

Summary: not so great
Review: if your use to all of the other workouts that billy offers you will not enjoy ths dvd. it is slower paced and you don't work as hard. i did this video for thirty minutes then did the advanced workout after just to feel like i worked out. if you like to sweat you wil with cardio but not until the very end so you might as well do it twice. i do not recomend this dvd but i do recommend his other dvds taebo ripped, taebo abs and butt, taebo advanced. billy is a great instructer but this dvd sucks

Summary: I'm a beginner again and this kicked my butt!!
Review: Its so so so sad that around 4-5 years ago I was able to do the 1 hour advanced tae bo from the very first set that was sold. I got lazy and stopped working out and here I am all these years later (and I am not even gonna say how many pounds heavier :( :( :( )trying to start over again. I read some reviews here that it is too slow but they must be in super shape. For a beginner this is an excellent workout because you don't just stretch and go straight into higher impact... he gradually takes you there so your body is warmed up really well. This kicked my butt and I breathed hard and sweat like crazy. I just finished it a few minutes ago and its the 4th time I've done it and its still hard!! So for those of you who think it is too easy---I am so incredibly jealous of y'all and I can't wait to get fit enough to be able to say that!! If you are a beginner I highly recommend this!!

Summary: great intermediate workout
Review: Tae Bo Cardio is probably the best Tae Bo workout DVD I've done thus far - and having done the classic, live, and get ripped series, that's saying something.

What makes this Tae Bo DVD such a great buy is the greater attention to proper warm-up and cool-down, including ramping up the exercises gradually, instead of throwing you immediately into high-intensity moves that could cause injury or strain. There's also more of a focus on even movements, more attention paid to proper form, and of course, Billy Blanks's motivational speaking to keep you focused on the workout.

It is true that the music is somewhat repetitive (it's a simple hiphop track), but it's simple to fix by turning down the volume and playing your own music. The other benefit of this particular soundtrack is a certain consistency lacking with the other Tae Bo videos.

Billy Blanks, unfortunately, still has trouble making calls for the television audience, so you have to reverse the cues if you want to mirror the workout on screen. Also, if you're looking for an extremely intense workout, you won't find it here, unless you're a beginner (in which case, it will be intense).

This 40-minute workout is great for a beginner or intermediate exerciser. For the beginner, it will provide a challenging yet balanced cardio workout. For the intermediate level, it will provide a solid workout that will leave you sweating, but not winded. For advanced exercisers, you might want to skip it, but I'd still recommend it as a great, easy workout for you. If you're intermediate-advanced and you want a really good kickboxing-based workout, try the Elite Forces DVDs.

The bottom line with this DVD is, you'll get out of it what you put into it. If you put in a lot of energy and movement, flexing your muscles and really putting your heart and focus into it, you will really sweat and have a great time. Like any other workout video, if you just go through the motions, you'll only get a certain amount out of it, and will likely be bored with the soundtrack and annoyed by other less-than-perfect elements (like the directionally-challenged cues).

Summary: Outstanding in every way!
Review: This new Tae Bo DVD is excellent. It is more advanced than the basic workout but less than the advanced ones. For me this is great, I can do this DVD on lighter days. I feel it gives me a chance to work more on my form. As a person who is in good shape and can get through an entire advanced tae bo workout, this DVD still makes me sweat and is a good addition to my workout collection.

Summary: I feel strong!!
Review: This was definately a great buy!! I am a competitive swimmer who was looking for alternatives to do during off season to stay fit. I just started getting buying workout DVDs because i was getting bored with jogging for an hour straight. I consider myself to be in top shape but this dvd was still able to get me sweating. I'm excited to buy more dvds from billy!!

Summary: Great Workout to Mix Things UP
Review: This was my first Tae Bo DVD, so I can't really compare it to what the others were like. I teach pilates, spinning classes and aqua aerobics 2-3 times per week and on my own I run and do yoga. I just wanted some other type of workout for the one day a week that I wasn't doing any of the other things.

I thought it was great because it did get my heart rate up, although not like a challenging cycle class, but I knew I was burning calories. I also discovered a couple of muscles that must not be getting a good workout from the other activities. All in all, it was fun and a good way for me to mix things up from my regular weekly routine.

Yes, the music is a little repetitive and the people counting to eight constantly can be a little irritating, but I also think you can find something wrong with every single video you do, so whatever. It did it's job- good workout.

Summary: solid cardio workout, may not be enough for the really fit.
Review: To set the scene, I am an avid exerciser both at the gym and with videos. I own the original Tae-Bo and the Tae-Bo Live tapes. Tae-Bo Cardio was a gift to me, as I have been doing more videeos lately as I travel. I had remembered Tae-Bo being a great fun workout.

The good news is that it's still a fun workout. I always found Billy's messages inspirational for some reason. This DVD has far better cuing, compared to his first tapes, and Billy does a better job of working both sides of the body. As always, he asks you to count along with the class. As he talks to you and asks you to respond, Billy really does encourage you to participate and I find it works for me.

The basic format of the video. Billy is exercising as always with his whole class. He starts with a hi-lo type warmup, and does a lot of good stretches for the whole body. Then he moves into punches, kicks, and combinations, without a lot of boring repetition. Essentially, he would do a move or combination for a set or two at a slow pace and then speed it up for "cardio". The slow sets are a good chance to practice technique or learn the combo, while the fast sets raise your heart rate. He ends the video with a tai-chi influenced cooldown. Sadly, this video didn't contain a floorwork section, as I do miss his donkey kicks.

I still believe Tae-Bo is one of the most effective workouts around. However, this video was a little light for me. The old Advanced videos really used to pump me up, and I didn't feel much of a challenge here. However, it still got the heart working a bit, and I chose to intensify by doing jumping-jacks and hopping instead of butterflies and marching in place. For beginners, it might even be a bit difficult and I do remember when I first did Tae-Bo, I'd often have a tough time getting through the whole video. In summary, an advanced exerciser might want to invest in the advanced video and I shouldn't be surprised that this one felt easy. But a beginner exerciser could get a lot out of this tape. And anyone can modify this tape to make it harder or easier according to their ability.

Summary: disappointed
Review: when i got this dvd in the mail i was so excited because i have all of the advanced tae bo videos, including the get ripped series and i was hoping this would be a new advanced dvd. well, it's not. also, the music is really awful. very repetitive. i love the exuberance of his older videos, where u could see a ton of people working out behind him. there was always something new to look at. now the only interesting person to look at, besides billy blanks himself, is his daughter shelley. not that that's a bad thing. she's a walking advertisement for all the good things tae bo can do for your body.
so if you're into a slower workout, go for this one. if not, don't bother.
