Summary: Kundalini yoga is the only way to go
Review: This isn't an easy workout. And the exercises don't follow a natural progression like on other videos. (Usually you work the chakras in sequence - this instructor seems to skip around). However, it's pretty good and a good compliment to your private collection if you love to do kundalini yoga at home.

But my favourite kundalini yoga routines are put out by another instructor who calls herself Mantra Girl. Her Volume 1 DVD (An Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Chanting) is easier to do than this video. Volume 2 (Advanced Kundalini Yoga for the Spiritual Warrior) is about the same in terms of challenge. I wholeheartedly recommend both to anyone with a genuine interest in kundalini yoga.

Summary: Physically & Spiritually Alive
Review: This tape presents an excellent introduction to Kundalini yoga. The workout is physical without being strenuous and challenging without being unbearable. It is easy to follow and energizes your whole body. Another viewer wrote of Carol's monotone voice - but when you're concentrating on calming yourself and deepening into the poses, her voice needn't be a factor. Excellent. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Summary: Excellent Session
Review: This video is the best yoga class I've ever taken. The asanas are tough and character-building, but with inspiring words such as,"Grace is finding the strength to keep going when your body doesn't want to," you are truly motivated to do your best. The "breath of fire" IS NOT done with every asana, in keeping with Kundalini yoga. The many short meditative breaks and child poses are great for recharging. It is a terrific workout and a great lead-in to meditation. The rest of the day, you are sure to have more energy and equanimity.

Summary: Gentle practice but not inspiring
Review: This video leads the viewer through a gentle kundalini practice. It is a great beginner video. The teacher is kind and beautiful in her yoga. However, I found both the setting and the teacher to be somewhat lifeless and uninspiring. While I find myself wanting the more gentle practice that this video offers, I still will reach for Gurmukh's more aerobic video because I am more inspired by the joy and love that eminates from Gurmukh while being surrounded by the lush, vibrant setting of Hawaii.

Summary: decent workout, weird energy
Review: While this kundalini workout is somewhat challenging, the teacher gives off a weird Branch Davidian-like energy which makes following her instructions a little uncomfortable. She takes the workout SO seriously, never once cracks a smile or says anything remotely light hearted or humorous. She almost seems bitter. In short, this tape isn't nearly as much fun as the kundalini tape by Gurmukh, who emits warmth, strength and wisdom throughout.

Summary: excellent yoga workout
Review: With grace and strength has been the best purchase I have made in my life. Kundalini yoga or life force yoga is something to be taken seriously and the results are beautiful and filled with bliss. I give this yoga tape 5 stars and recommend this tape for intermediate to advanced yoga students.
