Summary: great, quick work out for those who don't like working out
Review: I have read many reviews of Ana Caban's Pilates video that complain about the length (or there lack of) of the workout. I must say that is the precise reason I love this tape! I do not like working out as I find it tedious, repitious and boring. Ana kept the tempo up, the explanations were great, she reminded me when to breath, and the workout was hard! And to my delight, it was over before I knew it and I felt GOOD that I had actually worked out! No more guilt! This is a fabulous tape for a beginner or someone who, like me, doesn't like to work out, but knows I should. Ana is tres fab!

Summary: Very Satisfied Customer
Review: I really enjoyed this video, not only because it was a good toning work out, but because it was also relaxing!! Ana Caban reminds me of one of my friends; she is very likeable! This video is a must have!

Summary: VERY DISAPPOINTED
Review: I was totally disappointed with this tape, the routines are minimal and instead of the advertised running time of 40", the workout only lasted 30". Only suitable if you are looking for a light workout. Will certainly not purchase any more of Ana Caban's tapes.

Go for Jennifer Kries, she delivers varied challenging routines and does not compromise on the advertised running time.

Summary: Pilates?? Pilates!!
Review: Ok, so after all the hype I decided to try pilates.... And I did this workout and it was hard, but it wasn't..... it wasn't intense like tae-bo but doing the actual moves did take concentration and strength. After a few weeks I noticed a BIG difference in my stomach. That abdomen part.. you know...right below your belly button? The one that you can do reverse crunches forever and barely make a difference? Well that part was FLAT! It has never been flat, always a little bit of a pot belly... So it won't give you that six pack - but do it consistently and it will give you a flatter tummy. It also made me feel more graceful and taller. Ana Caban is a good instructor although some of her cueing is not as helpful as it could be.

Summary: Too much talking
Review: I purchased this tape after taking a Pilates class so I could work out at home - very disappointing. Ana Caban does a good job with the introduction, but the exercises are done too quickly and it's very hard to get the proper form. Ana also spends too much time talking and trying to act cute when explaining the exercises and you spend more time listening than actually doing the moves. I bought the Brooke Siler book and I find it much more worthwhile and the exercises are explained much better.

Summary: This is Hype!
Review: Why must we jazz everything up? They do not explain proper breathing or position of the spine. Ana Caban is sickeningly "Cute." The only good thing I can say about this video is that they DO follow traditional positions even though they DO NOT explain the proper execution of them.

Summary: GET THIS TAPE!!
Review: This Pilates tape is truly the BEST abs workout that i've ever done. Believe me, i've tried everything from Tae Bo to plain old curl ups, nothing comes close to the results I got from this workout. Seriously, after one session my stomach got harder and, after a full week of doing this I could see some muscle. One of the best things about this tape is the instuctor. Ana Caban isn't ditsy like Denise Austin which is good. Ana is also a very good teacher and takes everything slowly. I do this workout in conjunction to my Yoga routine, I exercise 2 hrs a day 6 days a week. I just had a baby so, im trying to get rid of all that flab. Take my word for it, You won't regret buying this video.

Summary: Great video
Review: This is definitely worth the money. I was already skinny, but was not very flexible and very uncoordinated with bad posture. This video has changed all that. I highly recommend it.

Summary: A Follow-up to My 1st Review
Review: I've kicked my rating up one additional star for this one reason: I have been doing this tape everyday for 2 weeks and I can truly see and feel the difference. My stomach, waist, and hips are getting stronger by the day and are visibly more slim. My pants are definitely baggier in these areas and I can see definition in my stomach, and this is after only 2 weeks. Also, I feel stronger in these areas as well as my thighs. Much less joint pain and creaking going on down there, as well. The most signifigant aspect of this rapid improvement is that *you do not break a sweat when you do this workout*. Additionally, it's short, approx. 20 minutes, so I don't feel as though I'm wasting any part of my schedule by doing it. Another bonus is that you don't need any special workout gear, clothes, shoes, scary contraptions, etc. It's just you, the mat, and Ana.

I do have one recommendation for new users: get yourself one of those sticky mats that we use for yoga. The Living Arts company, the very same group that puts out this video, has one. Also, be certain to get Brooke Siler's book in order to understand the poses to their fullest.

That's all I have to say. I just love this workout.

Summary: Great Workout
Review: This tape, first of all, is highly effective. I liked the fact that even though this is a beginner's tape, there are 2 different people you can follow: the actual instructor, whose workout is a little tougher, or another girl who is VERY beginner. The exercises were very simple to follow and I really felt like I was using all the key muscles the entire time. The best part for me was that time didn't drag. The workout feels like it's over in no time. But, I definitely felt it the next day and after just a few weeks of use, I can see results. I'd recommend this tape to anyone who is considering Pilates as a new workout option. It has good basics and gives you something to work up to, even just on the first tape.
