Summary: fun
Review: This is a fun workout to do and, as previously mentioned in the reviews - is safer that the Tae-Bo tapes. Kathy Smith is, as always, motivating without being irritating and it's nice that she has the sense to bring in an expert to lead the class. I wish there were more workouts on dvd. C'mon Kathy, lead the way!

Summary: Kickin' Good Time
Review: Although I have both Taebo Sets (the first basic and the new Live Series), I found this work-out to be fun, safe and very effective. Kathy Smith's queing is impeccable and the Keith's split screen queing enabled me to focus consistently on my technique during the work-out itself, something the Taebo tapes lacks. While I miss the "Live" feeling the Taebo delivers, this has great music and is just as fun. (I sometimes play the soundtrack to the matrix when I am doing Taebo) The only drawback is it is only 45 minutes long. Great Job, Kathy!

Summary: This is a very fun and motivating workout!
Review: Since I workout every day, I have a tendancy to get bored with the same old routine. So, I vary my workout in three-day chunks to keep myself interested and motivated. This summer, I have been walking, performing pilates and have just recently added the kickboxing workout to replace step aerobics. In over ten years of working out, I have NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN or RELIEVED SO MUCH STRESS as I have with this workout! This video is definitely for ANYONE who needs to rejuvinate their workout routine! I love it and can't wait to start the AEROBOX tape when I'm ready!

Summary: Worth the money
Review: This tape is a great workout. Extremely well done. Although it seems as though Kathy Smith is jumping on the bandwagon with the kickboxing, this tape is actually 100% better than the poorly done tae-bo tapes.

Summary: Great Video!
Review: I loved this workout! Smith is charming, Keith Cook and the rest of the cast adds a good feel to the video. I also loved the music and the low key setting. I did, however, notice a flub on the stretching (while stretching the hip rotators) but it's no big deal. It's a great video.

Summary: A great workout!
Review: Thumbs up to this video! I also own the 4 tape collection of Tae Bo and I wouldn't have purchased them if I had this tape first! I think this tape is as fun, if not funner than Tae Bo. It is just as challenging as well, once you know the moves well enough to work them.

The moves vary enough that it can be combined with Tae Bo for a variety of kickboxing training. The warm-up and cool down is also fun!

This tape is much better than her Aerobox(she doesn't instruct this one, just participates).

Summary: DVD is a great format for workouts
Review: I have taken kickboxing classes at my local YMCA, but this DVD is a lot better. I like the multiple camera angles and the fact that you can slow down the speed of play so you can watch the moves in slow motion. As a beginner, I also appreciated Kathy Smith's teaching technique. I also like having the option to customize my workout.

Summary: Worth Owning
Review: I thought Kathy Smith's tape was excellent. As an instructor I thought it was well done and it most important of all it was safe. Some of the Tae-bo tapes are not safe and are too fast. I thought Keith Cooke did an excellent job with Kathy Smith. Thumbs up to this kickboxing tape. I hightly recommend it.

Summary: Great workout on DVD
Review: This is a great workout, and it makes some good use of the features available on DVD. But let's get a complaint out of the way first. The box says there are three complete workouts: a 45-minute kickboxing workout, a 60-minute kickboxing challenge workout, and a 15-minute "tai chi energizer" workout. The two kickboxing workouts are actually the same, with an additional segment, done solo by Keith Cooke, awkwardly inserted for the "challenge" workout. The first part of this segment is instruction in kickboxing stances, which is good but doesn't belong in the workout itself. The rest is a challenging kicking and punching combination which would be better done earlier in the workout. There is a "customize your workout" feature on the DVD which lets you rearrange the segments during your workout, but you do have to pick up the remote control to do it.

The "tai chi energizer" has a solo segment by Keli Roberts, which isn't really tai chi, followed by one by Keith. It's good for either a short workout on its own or for an extra stretch after the kickboxing.

The best feature made possible by DVD is Kathy and Keith demonstrating each of the punches and kicks with both front and side views available from two camera angles. Another good feature is that once you've learned the workout, you can switch to a music-only soundtrack if you find Kathy too chatty. The soundtrack is not Dolby surround, and the music is not especially good.

All in all, this DVD shows off the possibilities of the new format for workout videos, and is well worth the added cost above the VHS version.
