Summary: poor production, annoying instruction
Review: i have used many fitness tapes throughout my three pregnancies and this one ranks as one of the worst...t though the living arts films were ok in the past, but this is dreadful...the instructor doesn't talk, she does a voiceover, the moves are designed for advanced yoggies, not someone with mild knowledge of the trait...i highly suggest something else other than this to help stretch and tone during pregnancy

Summary: Great for relaxation and stretching
Review: I love this tape! Now in my third trimester, sleep at night has become a challenge and my hips ache by sunrise. I find this tape very helpful in relieving all that discomfort, as well as, my lower back pain. It's also very relaxing.
The instruction on this tape is very clear and straight forward. There is a person for each trimester for you to follow that modifies each position as needed. Note: The video calls for a yoga strap and block (which I have supplemented with my robe belt and a coffee canister.) These items are useful in modifying some positions.
Overall, I think this is a great video and would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Great Yoga workout!
Review: I had been doing Yoga for a few years prior to getting pregnant and I wanted to continue with Yoga so I ordered this video. I really enjoyed the workout I got! I really felt like I was able to stretch muscles that tighten up during pregnancy like the hip flexor and you build up some strength and flexibility to help with the actual labor. It is great that there are three people to follow depending on how far along you are (1st, 2nd, or 3rd trimester). I would recommend that a beginner watch the video once before attempting to follow but for those that are familiar to Yoga, it is very easy to follow.

Summary: Overall a decent exercise video
Review: Overall I liked this video and felt that I did get a good workout, as well as relaxation. I am not a huge fan of the instructor, but I did not find the video more "new age-y" than other yoga videos. The poses are pretty easy to follow, and the video is divided in to sections so you can do 1 or 2 at a time if you don't want to do the whole thing. I am 4 months pregnant and have been doing the video on and off for about 2 months now. There are three "models" to follow, so you can adjust the poses as necessary to remain comfortable. Although I would not give it 5 stars, I am happy with the video overall and did not find it as terrible as some people!

Review: it's hard to put into words how i feel about pregnancy, but if i'm going to workout, i don't want annoying, boring, snooty, dorky woman leading my workout....i have already traded this video to another, hope it's better

Summary: feel like i just watched a bad PBS show
Review: I did not care for this video at all. The whole production was poor, especially the lack of dialogue between the instructor and the models...wait, there wasn't any, it was a voiceover...that is insulting to the viewer. I didn't care for the new age spiritual buzz this video workout put out, i'd rather do a MBC Yoga workout any day.

Summary: horrible video, decent exercises, but instructor is bad
Review: i liked some of the moves in this video, but it was terrible to have a voiceover by the instructor. I couldn't stand that! I'd rather do my FitMama video, and will trade this as soon as I can.

Summary: terrible production, bad voiceover, not for new yoggies
Review: this could be the most overrated video I have ever tried. THe instructor attempts to give a voice over to her routine(WHY? could she not talk and do the workout at the same time? that is such BAD!). The music and the voiceover was pathetic! THe only way anyone could enjoythis is if they have a supreme knowledge of yoga, and that still would not be enough. I thought this was the most overrated, most pathetic video for prenatal women. It was not effective for me, and the other 6 women I work out with. They all hated it as well...don't bother with this, try something more mainstream, your new baby will appreciate it!

Summary: A Better Buy!
Review: Before I got this video, I bought "The Method" prenatal yoga DVD and was very disappointed in it. That video was a different type of yoga practice than this and was not what I was accustomed to. The instructor of "The Method" was much more verbal and focused on free movement rather than structured poses and breathing. I have done yoga in the past and have really enjoyed the poses that use gentle stretching and breathing, so I was happy to see downward facing dog and some of the oldies but goodies on Yoga Journal's video. This video is wonderful! The instructor uses simple terms and doesn't talk too much and the poses are modified for whichever trimester you are in. I am in my 28th week and feel that this workout is perfect for my stage and certainly any stage beforehand or after. I did find that I got my heart rate up and increased my breathing after doing the video and feel it is a worthwhile workout for any pregnant person, regardless of her previous yoga experience. I even plan on doing this postpartum- if I have the time and energy! Good luck with your pregnancies to everyone!

Summary: Not perfect, but useful
Review: My doctor wanted me to get more exercise; having low iron, horrible allergies and the worst winter in years made it difficult. So I picked up this tape.

Yes, Shiva Rea can be slightly annoying; yes, sometimes the voiceover doesn't exactly match the movements; yes, it requires a lot of props. I would recommend a passing knowledge of yoga and some of the most common poses. Pregnancy may not be the time to pick up an entirely new physical skill.

That said, if you are somewhat familiar with yoga, this tape is a pretty good choice. It is long, so I often do the warm-up and then either Standing Poses or Floor Work, but not both. I do my own meditation so I skip the guided meditation at the end. Is good for energizing, toning, and strengthening. I appreciate the inclusion of Kegels for those of us who forget to do them on our own. Very low on spiritual or new age philosophy.

A very good TOOL for prenatal fitness. Not perfect, not the be-all, end-all, and certainly not for those who need to be entertained or spoonfed.
