Description:

The 27-inch PV-DM2793 packs a built-in hi-fi VCR and a DVD player for high-resolution video and audio--saving shelf space without skimping on picture size. In addition to watching the latest DVDs, the combo plays home-recorded MPEG2 video from a DVD-R, or JPEG images from a digital camera that have been saved to CD or DVD. The PV-DM2793's dark, PanaBlack picture tube produces a high-contrast picture with accurate colors, reducing the picture-degrading effects of ambient light. Dolby Digital and DTS outputs let you connect to a surround-decoding audio/video receiver and surround speaker system for mind-blowing home theater sound. It also handles music--from standard CDs to recordable discs filled with MP3 and WMA (Windows Media) files.

This set's DVD player features fast, smooth-motion scanning (up to 100x normal) and picture zoom. Depending on the disc, it's possible to select from up to eight different language soundtracks, 32 subtitle languages, and multiple camera angles. If you don't have a surround system, the player simulates surround sound from the set's stereo speakers to convey a greater sense of spaciousness.

The four-head hi-fi VCR offers auto clock set, which uses the Extended Data Service signal carried by many PBS stations to automatically set the time. In the event of a power outage, a back-up system resets the time and date within 24 hours. VCR Plus+ simplifies VCR programming. To record a program, just enter the PlusCode numbers (published in over 500 newspapers and in TV Guide) for the programs you wish to record, and the VCR is automatically set. A built-in FM radio, alarm clock with timer, and a tower remote are also included. Front and rear audio/video inputs allow easy connection with other entertainment components like receivers, camcorders, or video games.
