Rating: Summary: Great set; Missing 1st original DVD Review: I've viewed 8 of these titles with 2 kids. These were the first videos my kids enjoyed at an early age and my 3.5 year old still likes watching them. These are the best early childhood videos I have found from both an engaging and educational point of view. This collection is missing the original "Baby Einstein" which introduces 6 languages and is one of the better videos for <12mos babies. This is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. The older videos (Bach, Mozart) feature the creator's blonde-hair/blue-eyed daughters a bit too much and severely lack ethnic and gender diversity. The middle videos (Shakespeare, Van Gogh) have extensive puppetry, better ethnic diversity, but still favor the daughters, women, and other girls. These are probably the favorites of my kids. The newer videos (Neptune, Galieo) are produced by Disney and lose much of the original creativity and charm that made these videos great. They do have a balanced ethnic and gender diversity.
Rating: Summary: Great DVDs.But why are they being sold for such high prices? Review: The DVDs are fantastic. However, save your money and buy the complete set from Costco for $120. People here have listed the USED sets for over $160? Come on guys..............
