Rating: Summary: BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: My 13 month old son loves Baby Mozart, Baby Bach and Baby Beethoven. I thought this was going to be in the same league. Unfortunately, it's as boring as Baby Einstein's Language Nursery. He had no interest in watching this. Lots of repitition and the music isn't that great. I wouldn't bother with this one.
Rating: Summary: Another great one! Review: I highley recommened this one, along with the rest. My son is 12 months and has been using these DVD's since he was 4 months old. Now that he is 12 months old and hears the music for the video come on he runs to the Tv and sit down in front of it and claps his hands. We own all the DVD's and they are great. I'd much rather him be into this instead of Spongebob or something like that. And my 4 year old nephew sits down and watches it along with him. Baby Newton and Neighborhood animals are his favorites!
Rating: Summary: My Baby Loves It! And so do I! Review: Have to disagree with the reviewers from Florida. My baby loves Baby Neptune and so do I. The puppets are adorable and I love how the video shows water from oceans and at home. The music is lovely and the images are so bright. My baby gets up and dances to every song. The first time we played it - she watched the entire thing and then asked to see it again.
Rating: Summary: My little critics think its the best Baby E. ever! Review: Never seen my kids go so nuts for the puppets, the music or the beautiful scenes of underwater magic. It's amazing to think there are so many facinating things about water. We adults even find ourselves seeing things we learn something from. An incredible effort and our most prized DVD from Baby Einstein. It even gets soft at the very end, so the kids know it's almost time for bed!
Rating: Summary: Neptune a hit with my Baby Einstein's. Review: With two children under 4, I've seen every Baby Einstein and must say this one is a real treat. It's quickly becoming our family favorite. I hear a lot of people crashing on Disney after buying the company and I disagree. Someone said this is the first actual full Disney production and I think they deserve a "Bravo". My kids literally drop everything and run to dance to Neptune and the brilliant, stunning underwater photography. The innocence is very much still there, only the quality and attention to details are better. The puppet bits are funnier than ever, and cleary aimed at helping parents see the light side of things too. The music is great. There are all kinds of fun scenes with adorable new kids enjoying water, and nothing seems forced or put there to be PC. (Which is probably hard to avoid for Disney) The pacing is a little faster and we like it that way. It still hits home with my kids, and keeps us entertained too. Even our older boy seems magnatized to Neptune. Frankly, we were about to quit buying Baby vids like this after getting Beethoven and feeling the magic was gone. Our kids didn't even watch it one time through as it seemed like a mindless parade of toys. Our favorite was Baby Van Gough until Neptune arrived. This one has a wonderful natural flow, covering everything from shells at the beach to splashing in the bath and watching the washing maching go round and round.... We love how it covers things in the ocean our kids have never seen before. Anyway, we are thrilled the magic is back, no matter who made it happen. We're believers again, even when we were at first sceptical. If this is Disney's first, we can't wait to see what's next. They seem to have a fresh perspective and we say, "bring it on!" First timers? Buy Neptune, Van Gough, and Motzart!
Rating: Summary: this video is so boring! Review: My daughter is 11 months old & loves Baby Van Gogh, and both Baby Doolittle tapes. However, in comparison this video is dull with slow music and is more appropriate if you want you child to nap. It also has very little educational value & was truly a disappointment. Don't waste your money, like I did, just because it's a Baby Einstein tape!
Rating: Summary: Another Great DVD Review: Our 3 month old son LOVES the whole series and this new DVD did not disappoint. He sat through the whole 30 minutes smiling and kicking along to the music. He was especially interested in the turtle! Anything that keeps my little guy amused for that long gets a 5 in my book!
Rating: Summary: We Love It! Review: My 6 month old loves the Baby Einstein series, but particularly Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. She prefers the music and pictures to words and talking. Neptune is much more similar in style to these dvds. The speaking parts are minimal (introducing each section) and the music is beautiful. We purchased the matching CD as well and are very happy with it. The new puppets (Octopus and Duck) are adorable, and remind me of the ones from Beethoven. As well, the thematic part of this DVD is similar to the Doolittle series but better holds the interest for younger viewers. I personally like that it picks a "topic" and stays with it, exploring the different facets of it. My daughter adores bathtime and swim time, so it's nice to show her more "water" things. We're very pleased with this DVD as well, especially as it keeps our daughter's attention for awhile.
Rating: Summary: Too much real life video Review: My 10 month old daughter could care less when the video cuts away to the "real life" scenery. This video really strayed from the normal Baby Einstein videos we have. Instead of it being pretty much constant one toy/puppet after another, it cuts away to pictures of water and oceans and my daughter loses interest.
Rating: Summary: KICK OF YOUR SUMMER EARLY WITH THIS WINNING DVD!! Review: Well... the Baby Einstein Company has done it again... yet another top notch video to add to their collection. I have been a die hard Baby Einstein fan for 2 1/2 years now, as my twins are that old! Although the video is rated for ages 9 months and up, I am confidant that a smaller baby would love the visuals here. Baby Neptune is all about water. From the ocean, to rivers and lakes, to tub time, to a jaunt in the back yard with a garden hose, to tooth brushing time, Baby Neptune's got it all. There is even a section on beaches that covers sand castle building, and some exploration in a tidal pool. The "hosts" of the show are a turtle and duck - the same line of bath puppets used in most of their other videos. There is minimal computer animation here, which is a typical trademark of the Baby Einstein Company, who promotes the "real world object" theory that kids relate best to things they know and see in the world around them. There are children throughout the video, and as one other reviewer so rudely noted, I don't think they are offensive to watch! In fact, I don't believe that any of Julie Clark's own children are even in this video. That is a shame, as my son has a major crush on Aspen and Sierra! The children that are present here only add to the personal and "real world" feeling of this video. There are also various brightly colored toys intersperced into the video for added visual affect (think Baby Mozart). The show is choreographed to a wonderful selection of stimulating yet soothing classical music, so it's easy on parents' ears if your child chooses to watch it 10 times in a row! For extra fun, there is an aquarium bonus feature (DVD only) where you can watch a nice man feeding a bunch of fish in the Colorado Aquarium. I give this 5 stars..you just can't loose with this one. Enjoy!
