Rating: Summary: Don't buy the hype Review: My sister in law raved and raved about how wonderful the Baby Mozart was for her son. I went over and watched him many days when he was a newborn, and he would literally be glued to the TV. This video teached him at a young age not to interact with people, but to be glued to the TV. Sure it seems that your childed it getting alot of stimulation, however interaction with people is much better than sticking your child in front of this for hours each day. My son-in-law is now 2 years old and has yet to speak yet. He also has many issues expressing himself, and reverts to "biting" people, and other kids to express his feelings. After seeing the effects of sitting a newborn in front of the TV for hours at a time, I refuse to subject my own kids to this.
Rating: Summary: BABY WAS NOT INTERESTED Review: I thought the set of videos was a good idea, but I really bought them b/c of the other reviews. My 1 year was not at all interested in these, in fact I think they put her to sleep. The videos are nothing but toys moving around and classical music. I did enjoy hearing the music, however my little girl says she likes Barney & The Wiggles much better. Buy it if you want to buy them anyway... But be prepared that your child may be bored, if your child has ever watched Barney or The Wiggles or The Teletubbies, they won't give these movies a second glance. I give these movies the BIG thumbs down.
Rating: Summary: Very Disappointing: A How to Watch TV Video Review: After hearing so many parents raving about this series I was very disappointed when I tried both Baby Mozart and Baby Bach out with my infant son. My expectations--of stimulating, beautiful music with amazing graphics--may have been too high, but I wasn't prepared for what is simply a video of toys accompanied by cheesy synthesized muzak, punctuated with random appearences by the creator's children, Sierra and (I'm not making this up) Aspen. I felt I was just teaching my son how to watch TV. He wasn't interested; even if he were, I don't think watching these images would do him much good. A strangely dispiriting experience. Buy a big red ball instead, and bounce it on the floor.
Rating: Summary: Love them! Review: My son loves these videos! He has loved every one of them - even baby newton which is not the best. Baby Beethoven is sitting wrapped under the Christmas tree. My son has had a terrible time with reflux and these would calm him down enough to get him to take a bottle and keep it down. Say what you will about kids watching videos but I'm glad I have these when I need them. These are great to get him to gear down after a bad day. He just turned two and still loves every one of them.
Rating: Summary: Baby Mozart, My impression mommy of a 2 yr old and a 9 mnth Review: I took a chance and brought this video when my daughter was 7 months. She loved it. It is immediatedly captivating and now at the age of two she has practically memorized the video and still loves it. My son came along 18 months later and now at age 9 months he has watched it all his little life and loves it. It is a quick way to keep them in their cribs and occupied when I have to do something quick, like take a 2 min shower or get dinner on the table. My daughter loved it so much I have added other Baby Einstein Products and videos to our collection. You will definitely get your moneys worth with this video! The scenes are real and the colors and sounds are captivating. Go for it!
Rating: Summary: Baby Mozart Review: I would recommend spending money on a toy and playing some Mozart or other classical music for your child instead of purchasing this DVD. I heard so many good things about the Baby Einstein series that I bought the Mozart and Bach. I was very dissapointed, especially with the Mozart. I thought the video was not well done or very stimulating. I guess I expected a more polished or professional look. The Bach is better, however it appears the creators couldn't resist putting their children in the video. I found that a bit much.
Rating: Summary: GREAT for colicky babies.... I never would have believed it! Review: Our baby hit the wall of colic at 3 weeks and continued through 5 months screaming for more than 8 hours a day. At 4 months I found this DVD and read the reviews here where people said their infants were mezmerized. I bought it and from day one she actually watched it for 3 minutes... then 8 minutes... then 15 and now at 5.5 months her head turns to the TV when she hears the opening music or Julie's voice. She actually loves Baby Shakepeare better because of the silly puppets - but this was a good beginner for her and helped us to get a few minutes of peace in our home. She cries now when she hears the ending music starting....
Rating: Summary: Musical Masterpiece Review: This has been such a wonderful thing for our baby. She absolutely loves this video and it's music. She started listening to the music when she was just one week old. Now, at 3 1/2 months old, this is one of her favorite things. We have the video for her to watch and the CD for her to listen to away from the television. Whenever she's in a cranky mood, we put on the music and she instantly calms down and listens. She gets so excited while watching the video...she laughs, coos, and babbles at the images. We can already see that she has favorite images and gets so excited when she sees them. We recently purchased Baby Beethoven and Baby Santa. She will watch them, but she doesn't have the same reactions as she does to Baby Mozart. It may just take time for her to get used to the new music and images. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with infants who wants to expose their children to classical music. The music is performed in a very child-friendly way. If you're worried about your child being in front of the television, just buy the CD and start them early in their appreciation of the Arts!
Rating: Summary: My son loves this tape Review: These tapes are wounderful, they are one of my son's favorite things. I put him in his bouncer and turn on the tape (he is only 3mths.) and he watches almost all of it. Sometimes we sit and watch it and I tell him what the items are, and sometimes I can get a few chores done.
Rating: Summary: Excellent video for baby & toddlers! Review: My little boy has been watching this video since he was 6 weeks old sitting in his bouncer. He would just stare at it, glued to it. Now at 16 months he still loves it, laughs with it, and claps at the end. It has beautiful shapes, classical music, toys and objects of all colors. I highly recommend this for babies and toddlers.
