Rating: Summary: Gentle, slow, cute Review: My three year old is watching the tape and likes it. It is slow but I say that as a plus. She can repeat sounds of letters and knows the difference between sounds and names. There is also a CD-ROM made by this publisher - Reading Lesson CD-ROM - which you may like also. The CD has a lot more stuff and is animated like this tape. But if your child likes tapes, like mine does this tape is good to get them ready to read.
Rating: Summary: Just right for 2-4 year olds Review: This is a video that is just right for younger children. The animations are Sesame-street like BUT slower in pace so the child can actually learn what he is seeing on the screen. It teaches lower and uppercase letter and asks the child to repeat the sounds. We first got the tape from our library but now I have bought a copy here. My son goes around repeating words from the tape. He has watched it many many times and this is one tape I do not mind him watching over and over again. Of all the phonics tapes, I think this one is probably the nicest. No adults talking to the blackboard, just cute animations, that do not run at hundred miles an hour with fast music. Slow and gentle. Very different and well worth the money. Be sure to look at the companion book - Reading Lesson - if your kid is ready to read. Book is good too.
