Summary: Excellent Video! Two thumbs up!
Review: After watching this video one time, my 2 1/2 year old was ready to use the potty. Now at 3 she still enjoys watching the video and singing the potty song. I am so glad this video was referred to me.

Summary: Once Upon a Potty for Her
Review: Buying this video was a BIG mistake!! All parents know that children can mimic other children, especially when watching TV that involves education and singing. What was the author thinking when making this video. My daughter mimicked everything that the toddlers did in the video. The beginning of the video shows all these toddlers in their diapers, and rolling around the potty-chair (which didn't look like one), as if it were a toy. My daughter took off all her clothes except her diaper while she watches the video and also proceeds to play with her potty as if it were a toy. The little cartoon character while being potty trained misses the potty and does her business on the floor next to the potty, so guess what my daughter did! She tinkled next to the potty instead of inside the potty. Good thing it was only tinkles. This video did not help my daughter in potty training. Consistency, patience, praise, and rewards is what will pay off in the long run, not this video. They will learn when they are ready. I will NEVER recommend this video to anyone.

Summary: Not impressed
Review: By the time you get through all the credits you end up with about 5 minutes of instruction for your child. It took more time putting the tape in and rewinding than for my child to watch it. When she saw that I spent a lot of time rewinding, she became uninterested in it.

Summary: don't waste the money
Review: I am so glad I borrowed this video from the library instead of spending good money to own this bore. The story dramatization lasts but 5 minutes. All the rest is annoying filler. The sing along potty song will immediately irritate you. The parental information contained in the second half of this you probably already know or already have in one of your other parenting books. A better choice would be "The Potty Book For Girls"

Summary: my daughter loves it, but I don't!
Review: I borrowed this tape from a friend after repeatedly hearing her daughter ask to watch it. My 26-month-old now asks to watch it once or twice a day. She LOVES it. She quotes it all the time (and I'm getting sick of hearing "Was it a milk bowl for the cat?"), loves the babies and the music on it. She also understands what Prudence is doing in the video. Although the kids' portion of the video is short, my daughter thoroughly enjoys it.

As for me, I doubt this video is helping my daughter with her potty training. My daughter was already having some potty success before we got the video, and I don't see her more inspired to go potty since. She never mentions the video when she goes potty. Also, the terminology "wee wee," "poo poo," etc. is different than what my daughter and I -- and the rest of our friends -- use, which doesn't help us with consistency.

I also wish the video addressed on my daughter's level other issues associated with potty training -- stopping play to go potty, buying "big girl" underpants (you see Prudence in them at the end but there's really no mention of what they are), etc. Covering these topics would be more valuable than the doctor's portion of the video, which covers information that anyone who has already started potty training already knows.

In short, I'm glad I didn't pay money for this video. And even though I don't care for it, my daughter loves it and it's for her, not for me, so we will keep watching it....

Summary: Once upon a potty for her
Review: I borrowed this tape from a friend who had great success with this video. My daughter is almost two and has had on again off again success on her own. When I viewed this tape for the first time, I too had somewhat of the same reaction as the reviewer who found it a bit moronic. However, after viewing it a few more times and explaining to my daughter where her potty is (obviously not the same type as in the video...I too, have never seen this type of contraption), she loves it.

She has fun dancing tothe "potty song" and overall I would rate this video in a favorable way as part of the entire process of toilet training.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I bought a "fancy" potty for my daughter at about 18 mos old just for her to get used to seeing it. At 2 yrs old I had a book and started explaining to no avail. I got this potty tape and in 2 days at 25 months old she started using the potty even for her "poo"! To me--the tape seemed simple and short--but it really "spoke" to my daughter. She absolutely loves the tape and plays it over and over and sings the songs. They really know what they are doing. Suggestion: buy several simple potties (for her room, bathroom, kitchen etc so you don't have to run for it)like the one on the tape. I bought mine for a few dollars and she loves them . The $30 musical potty has never been used and just collects dust. What looks exciting to us parents isn't what always delights our children.

Summary: Great Video!
Review: I bought this video for my 3-1/2yr. old daughter who is mildly autistic. We had been trying to get her potty trained for sometime with no success. When we first watched the video she was immediately interested in using her potty. This was the first potty training tool that actually showed what went into the potty. Since my daughter is a visual thinker it helped for her to see exactly what to do. I highly recommend this video to all. I'm even going to buy the little boy video for my son.

Summary: Great Inspiration to little girls
Review: I bought this video last year when my older daughter (then 2 1/2yrs) had stalled at potty training. Immediately after she watched this video we started to see results. She insisted on watching it many times over the course of the day and even made me learn "the Potty Song" so I could sing it to her. (And the song is kind of catchy.) Now that my younger daughter (at 2yrs old) has shown an interest in training, she too has fallen under the spell of Prudence. Both girls love to dance to the music and point to the babies they see in the beginning of the video. I had thought that with my younger daughter's health condition (Leukemia) she wouldn't want to potty train now, but the video has helped her get into the mood.

Buy this video!

Summary: Too Many Diapers
Review: I bought this video when my daughter was potty training. We had the book already, and she loved that, so I thought that this might keep her sitting on the potty a bit longer. I was disappointed by the only live-action children wearing their diapers to sit on the potty. Who wears diapers to sit on a potty? However, she did love the video, and continued to sing the Potty Song for long after she had been potty trained. I will not buy the boys version for my son, as there are better training tools out there.
