Rating: Summary: All Good Things Must Come to an End Review: I caught the series finale on the original air date on the WB. It was both fantastic and heart breaking. It brings the 6 friends back for a wedding. But soon the heart warming reunion turns sour with the news of a friend harboring a heart breaking secret. When the secret is revealed it makes the friends look at themselves. When Jen tells her daughter to believe in God, is the most powerful scene in the whole show. This coming from a girl who would avoid churches and any mention of God. Jen has difinitely changed throughout the six season on the WB. Joey resides in NY with her current boyfriend. But when she makes an unexpected return to The Creek, old feelings rise up again. But in the end she gets what she wants without feeling guilty about hurting anyone else. Although this show is called Dawson's Creek, I don't believe that means Dawson should get the girl. Although he doesn't get the girl, he gets a highly sucesessful show and gets to meet is all-time favorite film maker. Pacey still gets in trouble with older women, and owns the new Ice House. Pacey is another example of a character that has changed throught the airing of this show. He goes from a troubled-slacker, to someone who has things figured out, for the most part. Jack finally gets his man! But in the end loses the most important person in his life, Jen. They were, in my eyes, soulmates. Not as lovers, but as life long friends. He is also in a relationship with a secretly gay man (Who knew is would be Deputy Doug. Didn't he claim to be a straight man all these years?) In the end, they all get what they wanted. And figured some things out along the way. Joey made the right choice. Pacey was the right man for her. He made her happy, and they both had strong feelings torward eachother. Dawson was her soulmate, as a friend. He got what he wanted either way. We left these 6 friends on TV, but we now can have them on DVD!! GET THIS DVD!! This will be a great UNCUT version of what was aired. Andie should have been apart of the airing of the show, but we still get to see what she turned out like on the DVD. I wish they could have brought all the rest of the characters through out the years back, like Audrey, Drue, and Gretchen. But either way, it is a great ending to a GREAT show!!
Rating: Summary: Finale DVD is a GREAT Deal Review: I'd recommend this DVD to any fan of the series. It was sad and bittersweet in many ways, but a very fitting end to the show. There are some added scenes that didn't make it to our television screen, most notably the return of the character of Andie for a very sweet good-bye that some might have felt was lacking in her original departure from the show. There is also a amazing and fun montage at the end that we didn't get to see on the TV airing that spans all the seasons. Very nice. As for the finale itself, I think it was a PERFECT ending in many ways, although the sad parts tended to overwhelm the happy ones. The character of Joey Potter was always my favorite and Katie Holmes does a wonderful job here, and her character is given the best ending I could imagine, so I have no complaints there. Michelle Williams blew me away in all her scenes - she is an amazingly talented actress - as did Josh Jackson, who has consistently risen above the material he was given for his character and brought a warmth and humanity to Pacey that endeared him to all the fans. He also is wonderful in his scenes, conveying so many different emtions so effortlessly. I would say the performances of these two actors alone would make it worth owning. There is also commentary provided by the show's creator, Kevin Williamson, and the producer, Paul Stupin, which really added a lot to the story and was interesting to listen to. You will not be disappointed if you were ever a true fan of the show, because true love always wins in the end.
Rating: Summary: Better off Not being a Pacey and Joey reunion Review: I did NOT like the series finale. Michelle was the only saving grace for this episode. I don't like how Pacey is always undermining his other relationships. IMO, it is all a plot to get people to like Joey more than Audrey and even Andie. Funny, how people say that Pacey and Joey were the true romance of the show. I don't agree with that at all. Pacey and Joey didn't have any romantic feelings during seasons 1 and 2. They didn't have any romantic feelings until Pacey kissed her in The Cinderella Story. Joey finally kisses him in Stolen Kisses and then they get together but break up and then get back together. Then they date for an entire season ( season 4) break up because of Pacey's insecurities ( some true romance, Pacey was too insecure to actually want to make it work). Then Pacey and Joey DON'T date during seasons 5 and half of season 6. They get together and then break up and then Bam! FIVE YEARS LATER, they get together. What the heck was so speical about their romance besides Pacey mooning over how beautiful Joey was? I don't like this show and never will.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Ending to a Great Show!!! Review: I loved the season finale of "Dawson's Creek". i think that the decision Joey made regarding Pacey and Dawson was the best one. i was so sad when it came to Michelle Williams ending but having her go through all of that made her character shine like it hadnt done in seasons and it just proved what a good actress she is. it would have also been nice to see what had happened to her in NY and like get to know a little about what she went through the way that we saw what had happened with Jack, Dawson, Joey and Pacey. i didnt know if Andie was supposed to be there or not, but she was missed considering that she was Jack's sister. i cant wait to see the DVD maybe they will add those scenes in. I do wish they had brought Audrey back, she was in the group during the last two seasons and just to disclude her didnt make any sense but hey whatever works. This finale makes you cry, laugh and just get all romantic inside as well. if you loved the series, you will absolutely love the finale! <3
Rating: Summary: goodbye Review: I remember the first Dawson's Creek episode. I was in my late teens and I loved the new genre aspect of the entire story and in some ways it gave me a chance to re-live my high school days and teenage loves and heartache over again. I was caught up with the character's so much, they were so well written it was hard not to get involved. So...after six years I watched the finale and was a bit surprised by the way they ended it....To say the very least....I cried my eyes out. It was hard to watch Jen and have to say goodbye....but I really very much apreciated the "grown up" way they decided to end the love triangle between Joey, Pacey, and Dawson! It fit...and although I am a little disappointment that it all had to end...but it's definately a series that will be well love from generation to generation...it's one that will keep everyone talking....
Rating: Summary: Who Knew Review: Okay first things first, I have to admit I have never been that big of a fan of DC. I watched the first season, got bored with the whole D/J thing and decided to move on. However, as popular culture often does the characters and stories start to seep in regardless, so every now and then I would find myself getting involved in the story and then it would tick me off so I'd quit watching...now that being said, I truly loved the finale. I was very glad to see Pacey and Joey end up together, I just think that the whole D/J thing was that they were "friend soulmates" but if they were to be in a relationship together they would sped the rest of their "fictional lives" either killing each other or in counseling. I really enjoyed seeing what everyone ended up doing, I thought the whole Jack ending up with "You Know Who" was friggin' priceless...But without a doubt the thing that MADE this episode was Michelle Williams portrayal of Jen, I have never really been a "Jen-Fan", sometimes I find the character endearing other times I found her down right annoying and pretentious, but her final appearance made me see her in a whole new light and truly love the character...Her performance also made me bawl like a newborn baby, and really made me care about what happened to these characters. It was also nice to see that the "wild-child" from the show ended up the most adult of all of them...So all-in-all I thought it was a very nice finale, granted it's always nice when they can wrap up a show proparly and give us some idea of what happens to the characters.
Rating: Summary: Added footage makes good even better Review: While I haven't seen the finale with the additional footage, that is the purpose of this release. Original scripts were leaked indicating was scenes were readded to create this release. The series finale of Dawson's Creek marked the return of series creator Kevin Williamson for writing duties and along with him we saw the original vision he had created for the show. More focus on the core characters and their relations was seen compared to the non-sequiturs that plagued seasons 5 and 6. The original script ended up with over 1-1/2 hours of film but constraints levied by the network forced them to cut the show to fit in the 2 hour limit including all of the planned commercials. This resulted in about 20 minutes that had to be cut including a gas station scene between Dawson's and Joey, a brief return of Meredith Monroe (Andie), and more about Joey's New York boyfriend. Whether you're a D/Jo or P/J, the finale has something to please everyone, was very well written and captured again what made the show great in it's first 2 (KW) seasons; the personal relationships of these high school friends. If you missed the aired broadcast of it and don't get the cable station TBS, this is a great opportunity to see a great finale to a great show.
Rating: Summary: I Don't want to Wait till are Lives are Over... Review: This is it. This is the final episode of one of the greatest TV shows in recent years. The plot of the TB show revolved around 6 friends (Dawson, Joey, Pacey, Jen, Jack, and Andie) and how they loved, laughed, and cried during the teenage years growing up in the small creek-side town of Capeside. The Finale takes place in 2008, Five years since the friends have last met. The gang all comes back for the wedding of Mrs. Lerry, but very soon on they learn that one of there friends has been harboring a heart-breaking secret. This is probablly one of the best series ending episodes I have seen, and although its a little of the Depressing side It is totally Dawson's Creek and totally perfect.
Rating: Summary: Dawsons Creek Season Finale Review: I am from Australia and ordered this just before we saw the final episode of DC.. I am so glad I bought it as I had watched DC since it started.. As we are so far behind over here I knew that it would be years, if ever, that the finale ep was released over here.. Was a bit disappointed that it didn't have more Special Features, but hey...
Rating: Summary: Best Series Finale of Any Show I Have Ever Seen Review: When I saw this episode when it first aired, I was blown away. It was the best 2 hours of television that I have ever seen. It takes place four years in the future, which I thought was a great idea. It let us see our favorite characters in the real world after college, and it was good. Joey's now an editor, Jack's an English teacher, Dawson is the writer and director of his own show The Creek, which was based on the indepedent movie he made during the second season of the show. Jen is a mother to a beautiful baby girl, Amy. It's said that her boyfriend knocked her up and then left her. I would assume that the boyfriend wasn't Jensen Ackle's character, who we last saw her with because he seems like too nice of a guy to do that, but they never really say who it was. The gang is in town for Dawson's mother's wedding, and the first hour has to do with the death of one of the cast, which is very heartbreaking, I cried many times, while the second deals with the love triangle that is Pacey, Joey and Dawson. I loved the finale when it aired in May, but when I heard that there were deleted scenes in the dvd, I had to buy it even though I had the other on tape. It was well worth it, if just for the return of Meredith Monroe as Andie. The best addition was at the very end when they show clips of all of the most important scenes of the last 6 years. It's very touching. I would definitely recommend buying this whether you saw it when it aired, or if you have yet to see it. It is an excellent episode.
