Summary: Shaka Zulu
Review: This movie is an inspiration. I first saw it in ~94. It took until 1998 until I finally "became hooked". Although Shaka is brutal, the brutality was normal for his time. Shaka has been giving me strength. He is beond color. He is an inspiration. He was smart, as the English found out the hard way. Whenever I have a difficult task in front of me (as a Director of Nursing, I have many), I either watch part of the movie (you cannot watch the hole thing at once before work), or I listen to the sound track. And yes, I realize and keep in mind that Shaka was eventually killed by his own people (sort of does not let the "power" get to your head).

Now...the only thing I really wish is that I'd have the mini series of Shaka Zulu. I saw it on the History Channel on 12/24/2000 (from 10:00 AM until the cows came home ~6:00 PM or 8:00 PM).

Summary: Riveting Performance
Review: Truely impressed with this piece of history, performed so rivetingly. Hopefully, the historical facts matched what was in this production. Since the production didn't take sides, it seemed to please both the African and the British empire. It also showed the negative sides of both empires. The way political Christianity was brought into this series was thought provoking. Obviously the true meaning of Christianity has been lost and is now used as a political tool and to cannibalize people of centuries now. A must see if you want to expand your mind.

Summary: Shaka Zulu
Review: Very well made series about a African ruler who created a true African Kingdom about the size of the UK in the 19th century.

Summary: Henry Cele (Shaka Zulu) deserved a Emmy Award
Review: We want to know why wasn't Henry Cele, the real star of Shaka Zulu listed as the star of this series! His portrayal of Shaka deserves an Emmy Award! His command of Zulu/English as well as incredible dramatic acting skills deserves credit. Henry Cele made the movie! Publishers and media should put have his name on the front cover!

Summary: A great show all the way around
Review: You can read the other reviews for the story. What I liked most beside the acting was the accents of the African people. Most Charming. If you want to hear English spoken as music watch this movie.

The other noticable thing was Henry Cele's portrayal of Shaka. I don't know Mr. Cele; he may be the kindest most gentle and loving man on Earth, but Shaka is the devil. Pure Evil. Scary. Frightning. Horrible. The stuff that nightmares are made of because this guy was REAL! Freddy Kruger and Jason didn't give me nightmares but Shaka did.
